 »» I may be bad Jade stood in the doorway of a dark hospital room, watching a young man, only two years older than herself, breathe in his sleep. She didn't want to disturb him, the nurse said that he hadn't been sleeping well. His condition was getting worse, it seemed. The doctor said that he would have good days and bad days. They all seemed to blend together until Jade could no longer tell the difference.
Her clouded blue eyes watched a nurse, dressed in pink, floral scrubs, walk into the room with a sponge and small bin. It was bath time, and Jade's cue to leave. She smiled at the nurse and turned to walk away. It was time for the change in shifts, at the hospital. Jade knew that if some nurses saw her, she would be kicked out. Some people just didn't like the fact that she was one of the Black Lights.
It honestly didn't bother her too much. She did what she had to do and she did it well. Stealing and running. How else was she supposed to pay her brother's hospital bills or even her own?
Jade walked, quickly, down the hall, avoiding eye contact with the nursed and evading the cameras. She knew where every camera was and she didn't want to be seen. She didn't want to put her brother in the crossfires. Not when he was all that she had left. Sure, she had the Black Lights, but they were backstabbers, some of them.
Jade walked out of the hospital and hopped onto her bike and drove away from the hospital. If anyone saw her, she would say that she had an appointment. Her seizures would take care of any further questions.

 ⚔Standing on guard
For the ones that we sheltered. Wolf waited patiently, at the nurses desk, to see one of the latest officers to get shot. He was told that they stayed away and this time, it wasn't his fault that someone got hurt. He never sent a squad to investigate with him. Still, he was an officer, despite the fact that he was now a detective. His first job was to make sure that this particular officer was not dead, and then question him about the person or persons who shot him.
Wolf's nose caught the light scent of rose petals and he turned to watch a young woman, with long dark hair, walk quickly past him. His eyes narrowed as he searched for some sort of patch on her leather jacket. He didn't see any, which didn't completely rule out the idea that she may be a member of one of the gangs.
"Hey, did you sign that girl in," he asked the nurse at the desk who looked new.
"She doesn't sign in," an older woman said as she placed a thin folder on a rack. "She has her reasons and she never stays long."
Wolf didn't like the idea that the hospital allowed some people to skip protocol. It was always helpful, to him, when people did what they were told. "Well, can you tell me anything about her?"
"Well, Detective..."
"-Hayden."
"Detective Hayden," the older woman said with crossed arms. "Her name is Jade and that's about all I'm telling you, unless you are investigating her. Which I don't think you are, since you don't even know her name." She frowned at Wolf and he frowned back. "Are you new?"
Wolf shook his head. "No, ma'am. I've just come back home. Now...when can I see officer..."
"How about you leave your number and we'll call you when he wakes up," the old woman said and pushed a paper and pen his way. "It could be a while."
Wolf decided that it was best not to argue with the nurse, scribbled his cell phone number down, turned down the hallway and walked to his car.

Black Lights
Leader ✵Death will not ignore you......✵ Athena was sitting in her chair in their warehouse. Various members of the gang surrounded her. "Where is Jade....She should have been here by now." Athena hated those who were late. She called for a meeting that started an hour ago but since an important member of their gang wasn't there, she had the heart enough to wait. Sometimes Jade was late....but not this late. She excused Jade's tardiness due to the many things she had Jade do. But being an hour late was unlike her.
Athena wasn't your normal gang member. In fact she was normal. She joined the gang to get money to pay for her mother's treatments, even though they were all in vain in the end. She learned before her mother's passing that she had an older brother out there, her mother's first child when her mother had him at 16 and gave him up for adoption. She was hoping that maybe she would find him....but she slowly let that dream go as she started gaining the ranks in the gang. She eventually became the leader and learned that she can lead this gang and still be herself. But now, she had more responsibilities since the previous one died.
She sat in her chair next to this week's "boy toy" even though he was just there to make her look good and nothing else. She had planned a new robbery close to the White Lies lines but she didn't care. It was a risk they had to take and she needed the money. They all did. Jade needed it more than anyone. Athena didn't know why but she didn't ask. Jade had her secrets as did she. But one thing Athena did to help the girl was give her some of her own money to help whatever it was. Something Athena doesn't make public to the rest of the gang.
Athena looked at her phone and was slightly starting to get worried that something happened to her excellent thief. Jade was relatively new to the Black Lights and so far she impressed with Jade's success. In the whole time she has been here, only 1 person has been busted in the 20 bank robberies that Jade has led. Athena didn't want to say she was friends with Jade, but she certainly cared for her.
Athena was gonna wait 5 more minutes before she called her thief. If she didn't answer, she was gonna go find her. "Someone keep a lookout for her." She barked out as some guys stood up and ran to go get into the window before the other so they could be next weeks poster guy. ✵....He is on his way✵ Location: Warehouse

»» I may be bad Jade pulled out of the hospital parking lot and checked her watch, at the stop light. She swore under her breath and chided herself for taking too long. Her hand touched the medicine, in her jacket pocket. It wouldn't have taken so long if she hadn't needed a refil. The Black Lights were waiting. She wondered if she had remembered to take her seizure medications that morning, but the light turned green before she had time to remember.
Jade leaned into her motorcycle and wove between the cars and cut through the alleys to avoid violating traffic laws, in front of any cops. It would have been so much quicker if she took the roof tops. The top of Neon City was her playground, traffic was not. It was someone', but not hers. She was the rule-breaker in all the right places.
Jade's bike screeched to a halt. She turned the motor off and swiped the key away, just as she quickly dismounted and walked quickly towards the door. Her eyes scanned the area, before she walked in. No sign of cops, White Lies or Black Lights ready to jump her. She slid her full, black helmet off and shook her long hair free.
She decided that she needed to talk to the group dealers. Someone had stolen some of her seizure medications and the pharmasist was reluctant to give her a refill. She got it though, but that was beside the point. She didn't quite appreciate someone playing with her life. She rather liked living, despite the hardships.
Jade opened the door and held Athena's gaze, instead of ducking her head. Sure, she was new, but she never lowered her eyes to anyone. No matter how deep she was in a hole. She would give no explanation for her tardiness. Not now. Not unless Athena asked.
Jade made herself aware of her gun and knives that were on her belt. She trusted Athena, for the most part, but she didn't trust the guys. She wouldn't start anything, but she had already decided that she wasn't going down quiet if someone had been ordered to take her down.

Leader ✵Death will not ignore you......✵ Athena saw some of the guys snickering and wanting to take out the tardy party. She raised her hand. "Calm down boys." Athena then looked to Jade. She eyed the woman and knew Jade must have her reasons that she would ask about later. Athena knew she needed to be punished because of how late she made her wait but that would be dealt with later. Not now. More important matters were at hand. "Nice of you to join us, Jade." She said as the one boy beside her tried to kiss her neck playfully so she could turn her attention on him. She pushed him down. "I should let the boys kill you." She spat at the boy who was now on the ground.
She then turned her attention back to Jade. "I hope you know why I have called you here." Athena said resting her head on her fingers as her left arm was placed on the left arm of the chair. "A big job that pays you well. Do you accept this job?" Athena was also known for not describing the job before asking if one accepts the job. But she knew she probably had Jade when she said it pays well.
She knew some of the money went to the hospital, but she assumed that it was for her hospital visits because of her seizures. Athena looked down at Jade. Waiting for her reply. ✵....He is on his way✵ Location: Warehouse

»» I may be bad Jade's eyes darkened as they drifted and flashed a warning to the fools who snickered at her. She knew she was in trouble and she had a way of making things worse for herself. Now wasn't exactly the time to fight, although she was quite ready to.
Athena stopped them from jumping her. A look of disgust crossed Jade's face when the boy tried to kiss Athena's neck. She didn't like to be touched and she certainly wouldn't tolerate most of the guys in the gang. Still, Athena kept things in order and the guys were wrapped around her pretty little fingers.
Jade's eyes drifted back to Athena when she mentioned a job. Jade smirked. "You know I'm in,"she said with a hint of darkness in her voice. Even if she didn't need the money, she loved the thrill that the jobs brought. She loved it when she could race across the roofs of Neon City. She loved it when she could show the cops who was really the law of the streets. She loved it when she could defy the owner of the city by stealing something that belonged to him. Power. Power of any kind. Each time a job was completed, they stole that power from him.

Leader ✵Death will not ignore you......✵ Athena smirked when Jade accepted. Perfect. "A new bank is being opened tomorrow. The owner will be there. Wouldn't it be nice to give him a little heartwarming gift of his precious new bank getting robbed. From what our techie found out. It is supposed to be state of the art security. But there is one major flaw in it. It is easily hackable. You up to it? Our tech will give you support from here." Athena smiled. They all hated the new owner....well only those in both gangs. That was the only thing they had in common. But the only thing. "There is one problem. Even though it is in our territory, it is very close to the border with the White Lies. I have no doubt that White Lies may make an appearance."
She It was one thing that she hoped Jade wouldn't run into while on this job. For years, the White Lies and the Black Lights have been at each others throats in territory battles, heists, and multiple other skirmishes. Both gangs have been around before this man had purchased the dying town but not in the force it has been since the man bought the town. Both gangs have struck fear into the locals, police and the like. The only one they can't seem to strike fear in is the owner of the city. She was hoping this would send a message to him that he doesn't scare them either. "Jade. Steal as much as you can. Who knows when we will get another chance to rob a bank." Athena smiled once more. "Make sure you are in and out within 20 minutes. That is all the tech can promise you a security free time slot. You still up for it?" ✵....He is on his way✵ Location: Warehouse

»» I may be bad Jade listened to Athena explain what everyone already knew. The big bank was opening and everyone wanted to be there. The citizens of Neon City thought that the untouched establishment would remain that, but the gangs were both itching for some fun. The fact that the bank was on the edge of Black Light territory, meant that the White Lies would probably show up. Something that Jade was almost counting on, for one fact. She hated them. Any chance that she got to kill one, would be enough for her, but she didn't really want that. One death would result in a blood bath.
Jade was good at what she did. She was fast, flexible and stealthy. The only problem was that she had to be careful on how much she stole because the weight of it could mean her demise. If she weighed too much, she might not be able to make it across the roofs. She, of course, did not always have to take the roofs, but she liked it so much better. Hardly anyone followed her and even less could keep up.
Jade gave a silent nod with a smile that remained. She wasn't so easily replaced. She had succeeded in every heist she participated in. "Twenty minutes," she said with a nod. That was all she needed once the techs got her past security.

Leader ✵Death will not ignore you......✵ Athena smiled. "Leave now and prepare for the heist. Meet me back here at 9am. There we will meet with the tech and get the layout. I will give you further instructions tomorrow morning as well. Good night Jade. Make sure you get plenty of rest. We don't want to fall asleep on the job." Athena stood as all the men did. She waved the guys away. After all the guys left Athena walked down to Jade. "Everything ok? I've never known you to be that late."
Athena truly cared about the girl. Even if Jade didn't know it, Jade felt like a little sister to her. Athena made her way to where Jade was standing. She showed concern in her eyes. Athena hoped that Jade would open up to her. She knew there were things that Jade could feel better about if she would just talk about them, but Athena wasn't gonna force the girl. That is just not who she is. ✵....He is on his way✵ Location: Warehouse
