emotion_bigheart Hola to my loving trans-familia emotion_bigheart
So, it was cleverly suggested by Fatal-Proxy that we have some sort of hangout space outside of the forums.
Therefore, I am offering my Gaia house, which has until now been completely abandoned, as a sanctuary.
I'd like to hear some suggestions from everyone as to how it should be furnished. I was thinking it should be somewhat gender-neutral, to satisfy the tastes of all parties involved. If other people want to then we could have a men's corner and a women's corner, since there are clearly some distinct differences between becoming a woman and becoming a man, and conversations in these corners would be properly focused on their respective constituents. However, as I was thinking about this it occurred to me immediately: what about those who are androgynous/hemaphroditic? Wouldn't they feel left out? It's worthy of some dialogue, I feel.
Right then, anyhow! Please post your suggestions here or pm me directly, so that I can start sprucing the place up! You can just give your perspective on what type of atmosphere you'd like, or you can suggest specific items.
If we choose to use my house as a base, we can keep this thread up and use it to further improve our home as our membership expands.
If we choose not to, then we can just delete this thread later.
Let the interior designing commence!

I believe the PC term for hermaphrodites these days is intersexed.
That said, I think this is a fairly generous offer, but I don't feel it necessary to make seperate spaces for the ladies or ones for the gentlemen.
Yes, while it's true that the roads are like night and day for MtF vs FtM, I don't think it's a healthy idea to segregate particular areas between the two roads. There's already a divide in the trans* community as it is, and I think we need to foster a more welcoming environment rather than splitting the roads like most places to.

Yes, while it's true that the roads are like night and day for MtF vs FtM, I don't think it's a healthy idea to segregate particular areas between the two roads. I agree. ^^ Okay, thank your for correcting my terminology! I didn't mean to offend anybody by using that term, I just usually think of the goddess Agdistis when I think of the word Hermaphrodite, because it's Greek in origin. And although I'm a Sufi, I like Agdistis lol. (nerdspiel)
And I was on the edge about the segregation thing as well, so thank you both for your input! It's agreed then, that we should try not to create an atmosphere that will allow any de-facto segregation to occur, but instead foster more unity in diversity. ^_^
So, with those fundamental decisions out of the way, what do you all think about colors, themes... am I overthinking this??? lol

well this is something we're going to disagree on then. I like cooler colors like blues and teals.

Alright, I'm working on the house now. It's not going exactly how I planned, because you can't use multiple floor surfaces or build walls or anything, it seems... sweatdrop

Is this still a thing? It has been quite a while indeed since this was followed up on, after all. If it is still a thing, I want to offer my house as a chat space, as well. It has yet to be decorated, I haven't really had time, but I still think it would be good to have lots of space. Here's a link, if anyone's interested.

Well since the last reply was a year ago, I don't think it's still up anymore. Your house link doesn't seem to work for me either.

What error message did it give you? Also, Zephy, surely we're not the only active members, right?
