Post/pre 3rd Era?
You'll find the differences between these two on the Races thread (in the main forum) though I will repost them here.

The only real difference is a change for a few of the races.
Before the 3rd Era, the races on Earth consisted of the following:

Elves: Half-sized people, who live in the forest. Wielders of Blood Magic, and most are extreme worshipers of Dai Ra, the Tri-Un's Goddess of Balance, and hate Wizards.

Golems: Massive rock monsters, that live under the ocean. They are generally peaceful, though also reclusive, so not much is known about their society. However, they usually stay in one place. (also called Giants)

Wizard: They look like humans, are, at the time, more populous than humans, and wield incredible magic powers. They are actually often seen as humans, but bestowed with some divine powers.

Ancients: Western-style fire dragons. However, it is only their appearance that is western. They do not go around, stealing treasure, etc. They live in mountainous regions, and possess strong magic.

Skymen: Almost holding as much power as the Wizards, they have raised a mound of earth into the air, to be their floating city. They have been seen as gods, angels, bird-folk, etc. They do act as gods, though, trying to govern the entire planet.

And humans.

However, after the 3rd Era, there was a series of events that led most of these races to evolve/go extinct. Thus these are the post 3rd Era.

Vampires: The Elves, in order to survive aforementioned events, morphed their body into full sized humans, and gave themselves fangs. Seeing as how this is not the races natural form, their connection to magic has decreased, and they cannot use it, as well. However, they are still formidable mages.

Blood Wraiths: Vampires who have surpassed the magical capabilities of the Old (Elven) Lords. They are able to cover themselves in a thin layer of blood, and essentially become one with the ancient art of Blood Magic. However, it often controls them, leaving them a little less in control of their magic.

Aquans: The Giants went extinct. And in their place, the Skymen found a new race of water-people to replace them. Similar to Water Noans, though slightly different.

Wizards went mostly extinct.

Dragons: The Ancients were forced to evolve into more serpentine forms, so as to escape their foes quickly. They now bear more resemblance to eastern dragons.

The Skymen have survived.

The humans have survived.


I will leave the choice up to you.

No, neither of these races will restrict the RP to Earth. The pre/post thing simply only affects Earth, and the races you can choose from there. There's actually a third slot, in which all of the races besides humans go extinct, but there's not really any point in that.
No matter what, your character's going to get beamed up to Alexria, and it's going to do the trial.
Since we're (probably) not going to restart the Alexria RP, this will actually likely not effect either of you, seeing as how you'll likely want to keep your former races.
However, if you do want to change, for one of the Earthen races, that's where it really matters.
Also: if you do want to change, I will hold another vote for if you want to restart, or pretend your character was that race the whole time, but we likely won't need that.

You know.. After I said that, the internet began to go really slow, so I started playing Xbox. I will continue to set it up, tonight, but now I'm distracted by Xbox, so..

I'm game with whatever, though I'd prefer whichever era we RP'd in.
