Vodka was on her stroll at the base of the mountains, taking in the fresh, crisp pine air. A lazy smile filtered onto her maw as she drank in the scene - the wind blowing softly through her fur. Her pawfalls were soft and gentle against the dirt, and she got lost in the realm of nature as her grandmother would have. She...never knew her. But grandpa Zack was always telling stories - animated and affectionate. On the wind she caught the scent of deer, caribou - the chill air of the arctic mountains wafting from the top of the ice shelves of the glaciers - miles away, but chill enough to carry for a ways. Somehow, the chill made her smile. She seemed so entranced by nature, she hadn't noticed a wolf padding around, close by.

At least, not until her footing was suddenly shaken, causing her to stumble a couple of paces to the side. Instantly she jumped into a defensive posture, though rather than a snarl, a curious spark flashed in her eyes, and there was no malice in the way she held herself. Soon as the other wolf jumped back, she relaxed, straightening herself with an open, friendly posture. "It's alright, "she began, though soon took notice of his surprise. Quite curious, the worry also spilled onto her features. Had...he recognized her? From where? "Is...everything alright?" trying to compose her features so she could better help him, she pushed her fears aside.

Vodka gave a good-natured chuckle when he mentioned how his nose had been doing the walking. In fact, she nodded in understanding; "I am guilty, too; so lost in nature was I that I hadn't taken notice of my other surroundings," she replied with an incline of her head. His smile put her at ease; that was something she hadn't seen much in her tragic family. She returned it easily.

"It's good being silly sometimes." she noted with wisdom that belied her years. She felt like it kept her alive, being silly. "I was just on a walk..." she noted, though it soon came to her attention that she didn't remember when her last meal was. With a sheepish smile, she added, "Though deer or caribou might be a welcome distraction."

"Thank you - I would love to accompany you so that neither of us go hungry..."she searched for a name, but it became clear to her that his was unknown to her. "I'm..." for a moment, she stalled. Of her real name, she had never been terribly affectionate. Even if the nickname given to her by her father was in jest, she enjoyed it more. "Vodka. But I prefer to go by Cher." it wouldn't do to lie about her name.

As he spoke of calf-meat, a strange expression crossed Vodka's jowls. She knew she was a hunter - and that meat is what she required. That didn't mean she liked the killing of the innocent - especially one so young. To take away all that potential..she thought briefly of Rose, her sister. Quickly snapping out of it while he bowed his head, she inclined hers, a gesture akin to the human curtsy, "I am rather hungry, though; however I will take what I can get." she mused, a bit distracted by her thoughts.

"It's nice to meet you, Irikinum." she remarked with a well-mannered, friendly smile. It felt good to be called her chosen name, rather than the playful one her mother had chosen. Her ears went back a little sheepishly when he had taken note of her discomfort with the thought. She gave him a soft, seemingly sorrowful smile. "No, it's just..." she had trouble trying to explain it. "Not a lot of wolves share my belief on the matter. I am a huntress, after all, but..." she glanced up at him shyly, trailing off - did she really have to say it? She pawed at the ground a bit nervously. This is why she kept to herself most of the time - but she had been tired of doing that for her whole life. In fact, her family, with two of her psychosis-driven siblings, were probably to cause of her quiescence.

She looked at him, almost sharply, when he prompted her to continue. His warm smile, however, softened her gaze. Perhaps it was time she became proud of her standards. "I may be a huntress, but young ones..have so much potential. It is wasteful to take such potential, and for so little gain..." she mused a bit, looking up at him sheepishly for a moment. Not before long, however, her posture straightened, showing that she presented the idea proudly.

"Fast is one thing I'm good at." She grinned, hunching her shoulders competitively.
