~Oliver James Burek~ Twenty-one year old Oliver Burek sat in a library chair. He was reading "The Samurai's Garden" by Gail Tsukiyama. It was an interesting book and it had a good storyline to it and he enjoyed how the characters interacted.

Brianna Nuneza Nineteen year old Brianna Nuneza walked around near the library and started to eat an apple. "Human sure do like technology. But me," she started to say then she climbed a tree and hid herself among the leaves. "I like this part of the city. It's nice and quiet." Her tail swayed a bit until it relaxed on lap.

~Oliver James Burek~ The library started to get crowded after a while. Sure it was still quiet but he was more of a couple people at a time. So he picked up his stuff and took the book outside with him. No one was out here, despite the sunshine. He walked over to a tree and sat under it, opening his book back up and continued on with it.

Brianna Nuneza Brianna saw a boy sit underneath the tree where she was sitting. He held a book which caught her interest. 'Hmm....what strange book,' she thought and hung on her legs from the branch to get a closer look. She made sure to hide her tail and hold her hair upward so that this boy wouldn't catch her spying on him.

~Oliver James Burek~ “The eyes mirror the heart of a person. An entire life can be seen through them. Love, sorrow, deceit, pain. If you look closely, it’s all there.” he read. He stopped for a moment, mulling over the words. He could agree with them and he thought of what he could write about it in his blog. He took out his journal from his bag, opened it and wrote it down under another quote from the book. The other quote being “In the end, it doesn’t matter what words are said or unsaid. . . .Life’s mistakes are made whether you can see them or not. What counts is how we learn to live with them.”. He couldn't wait to write about these things in his blog. All of a sudden he looked around as he heard a noise. "Hello?" he called out. No one answered and he didn't see anything, so shrugged and continued writing in his book.

Brianna Nuneza Brianna was pretty worried when she almost got caught by this boy. She skimmed through the journal that the boy took out before he could notice her. 'Pretty cool quotes. This guy must be real laid back.' Then she noticed something very unpleasant: she slipping was starting to loosen up and tried to get back up. This only sped up her closer encounter with the ground and ended up slipping entirely and hit the ground behind the boy.

~Oliver James Burek~ Oliver jumped up startled. He looked behind him to see a red haired girl with a...tail? He stood up and walked over to her. "Hello, you ok?"
he asked, holding his hand out for her to take.

Brianna Nuneza "Owow," Brianna murmured. She saw the boy offer his hand to help her and she took it. "I'm fine, thanks. I hadn't fallen down too high though, thank goodness for that." She dusted herself off then took out her hand to shake. "I'm Brianna. Who're you?"

~James Oliver Burek~ "My name is Oliver. What on earth were you doing in a tree?" he asked. He shook her hand, taking in her appearance. She was red headed, a small body. Her attire was almost tomboyish but not quite and she had pretty green eyes.

Brianna Nuneza "Oh uh...I was just relaxing until I lost my balance and fell," Brianna lied. She wasn't about to admit she was spying on him. That would be kind of creepy and awkward. "So, what were you doing here?"

~Oliver James Burek~ He raised one of his eyebrows as he detected a lie in her voice. He didn't push though as he answered her. "I was reading and writing things down for my blog." He looked over to her tail "If you don't mind me asking, why do you have a tail?"

Brianna Nuneza Brianna looked back to see her tail and had to create yet another lie to cover it up. "Oh it's a fake. It's a total fake," she said. facing him but looking away. "It's pretty cool that you seem to rarely use technology. Almost everyone in this damn city uses it and even can't live without it."

~Oliver James Burek~ 'Yet another lie...' he thought. "Thank you?" he replied. "Do you not like technology? he asked curious. Sure it got annoying at times but it was a way of life. How they communicated with others, how they found information they would need. It was useful, but he could agree with how annoying it could be when someone felt that they couldn't live without it.
