They certainly do get a LOT of flack.
Cronus has the Nice Guy Complex.
Eridan is a d**k.
But I still can't help but be charmed by them.
I think it is mostly because of the cosplayers I see. They make them worth tolerating in my opinion.

I absolutely adore the Amporas (in case you didn't guess that by my username) I think they are horrible, cruel, jealous and violent creatures, but I love them so much.
I think Cronus is my favorite, because he just has so much potential, since we don't really know that much about him. There are so many headcannons about him being really great at music, or being extremely powerful and violent usually, but he tries to repress it, or even the headcannon that he wants to be human (a personal favorite).
I also really love Eridan, because he's so interesting once you get beyond the wweh, wweh, I'm a wwhiny, bucket-obsessed, looser character people often make him out to be. I really think he's a very strong kid, but he can only take so much, and he is a kid, so I think the reason he's so clingy or 'desperate' about quadrants is because he just wants attention, he wants people to like him, love him, or hate him, as long as they pay attention and they care, that's what he wants. (He also wants to kill all the landwwellers, heh)
And, Dualscar, the one we know the least about, but I love him just as much as the others because you can make him just about anything you want him to be. Personally, I think he would be extremely cruel, and sadistic, he would enjoy causing pain to those lower than him, just because he can and he loves his power. I believe power would be his absolute favorite thing, which is why he's really interested in the Condesce at all, because of the power she represents. Even if he'd never met her before, he'd want to be with her, simply because of her power.
Aah, okay, this is really long and makes probably about 0 sense, but hopefully you understood at least a little bit of it...
Anyways, I love the Amporas, that is my opinion.

Eridan is alright but I love the ampora's so it really doesn't matter to me. Hell two of my favorite trolls in the world happen to be Ampora's actually.
Cronus is a hot piece of a** that I will never get tired of. Yeah is personality is a little iffy but I dont care. I would still date the ******** out of him. He is just that type of troll you either love instantly or you learn to love. For me it was learn to love since my second favorite troll of all time is Dualscar and at first I thought when Cronus was about to be introduced that Cronus would happen to be like him is a way. But as he came out I soon realized that was not that case at all and it really upset me but after a while I warmed up to him and really began to love him very much.
Dualscar though. DUALSCAR THOUGH!! Him and Mindfang are my ultimate OTP-shipsthemeverything- I love him. But my headcanons for him do not take him as a pirate like Mindfang but more of a refined a*****e of a military general. I model him alot after the d**k in Shindlers list which is so sad to think but I do. He is a mean,cocky a*****e cares about nothing but himself. But then again he has a heart for Mindfang though which at times makes him a bit of a softy for her. I do not believe in my world that he is interested in the Condecse but he certainly loves to make Mindfang jealous when he talks about her. He is sadistic and cruel and one hot piece of fishass I would not mind being a slave for. His harsh shark like skin just amazing down to his frilly gills. Dualscar is perfect. I just wish we knew more about him but then again I don't really want to know.
Overall I love all the ampora's. Some more than others. But I love them and have no problem with them.

I love Eridan & Dualscar. I have a huge crush on both of them especially dualscar.
Eridan is a bit offsetting in terms of his genocidal attitude & disdain for all bloods lower bloods. However I get the impression that underneath all that is lonely guy looking for love. He's also very loyal & a bit self centered but when you look at his past, I understand part of the reasons he's turned out like this. He grew up in the middle of the ocean with only his lusus & feferi as company & was a killer to help feferi appease her lusus. People easily dismiss him because of his flirty personality and hes left to his own devices.
Dualscar, hell I just think he's hot personally.
