Kali rooms with one other girl, who she never sees. There are two rooms available.
Kali's bedroom is rather bland, as she does not have many belongings. Her walls are bare. She has a dark purple comforter on her full size bed. The bed frame is a black metal. Her student's desk, dresser and bookcase are stained a dark walnut.

⇢ frøm thε αshεs » A FIRE SHALL BEWOKEN « Kali found her dorm room, rather easily. She could thank her photographic memory for that. She didn't even need a map and she could navigate the halls as if she had lived at the school all of her life. As long as no one found out how good her memory, really was, she might be able to manage the whole 'I got lost' routine if she ever found herself where she didn't belong.
Alex had walked with her, to her room. She opened her dorm room and stepped in. She studied Alex and then thought that the polite thing people usually did was to invite someone in.
"You...want to come in," she asked. For once, her voice was quiet. It was still rough around the edges and had an air of carelessness but it was still quiet.

⇢ frøm thε αshεs » A FIRE SHALL BEWOKEN « Kali opened the door to her bedroom and peered in. She hadn't really taken a good look at it. Han had only shown her her dorm from the hallway, he didn't bother to show her what the inside looked like.
She noticed that the walls were bare. Very bare. There weren't any pictures, posters...not even a clock could be found on her wall. The dresser had more space than she thought she would ever need. She never did have that much clothes. And the bed! The bed was so much bigger than the military cot that she was used to. What she wold do with all the room of a full size bed, she had no idea.
"Are all the rooms like this," she asked Alex, as she eyed the space and the furniture in it. She even had her own desk to study at. "It seems a little much..."
She let her voice trail off. She didn't want to seem ungrateful. She was hoping that there would be no mention of what happened in the infirmary. However, she wasn't that great at small talk, or talking to people in general.

She scared him, all of them, a few minutes ago when she freaked out. So, he figured he'd go question by question. "Yeah, every dorm's like this. Well, granted, ya got the personal things like posters, and your own blankets, and things like that. Ya know, the things you do to make it yours. But at it's base, it's core, all stripped down...yeah, it's the same."

⇢ frøm thε αshεs » A FIRE SHALL BEWOKEN « Kali shrugged. She didn't know what she expected. Xavier had told her that a room had been prepared. She should have expected a room, but instead, she expected the same military cot in a room no bigger than a small closet. That's what she expected, but she hadn't knowing anything else.
Alex explained that other rooms had posters and things on their walls. They had their own blankets and things. They wanted more, it seemed. Kali was quite content with the drab bedding and bored walls.
"Why would anyone want more than they are given," she asked and found herself realizing that she had always wanted more than what she had been given. She had wanted freedom. "Isn't there anything...smaller," she asked, moving to the closet which was even bigger than her 'old room'.
After a moment, she realized the silence in the room. She looked back at Alex. "You can ask me anything," she said as she studied the closet.

⇢ frøm thε αshεs » A FIRE SHALL BEWOKEN « Kali gave a small nod, as if she already knew what question Alex would ask. She didn't seem surprised by it. Sure, she wasn't that great in social situations, she knew that, but she would question someone if they acted like she had.
"Something like that," she said as she turned away from the closet and moved towards the desk that was against the wall. "I don't like doctors. I don't like needles...I'm sure you've heard the same story a million times. I don't like tests and I don't like science. Hospitals and people of science are...intimidating. I can't explain it well, but being around medical things makes me want to do nothing less than run." She paused and glanced at Alex. "I guess you could blame bad experiences. Nothing I really want to go into detail about." She shut her eyes and tried to stop the myriad of memories from flooding her. "It wasn't fun and I don't trust your doctors to do any less."
Kali opened a desk drawer and found some pencils in it. She frowned and glanced out the window. Her window overlooked a large tree and in the distance, she could see the hedge maze. How fitting, she could look outside to visualize exactly how she felt: caught in place she didn't know how to escape.

He took all the pieces to the puzzle that he currently had and was trying to mentally fit them. "It sounds like doctors had hurt you...no, they EXPERIMENTED on you, didn't they?"

⇢ frøm thε αshεs » A FIRE SHALL BEWOKEN « Kali winced at the words and fire filled her eyes. It wan't flames of anger, but of sadness and pain. She looked back at Alex who had just pieced part of the puzzle together.
"You're a smart one," Kali said dryly. She was surprised that he had figured it out, with as little as she gave him, but she wouldn't deny him a correct answer. "I don't need your pity and if you repeat what you know to anyone," she let her voice trail off as her eyes flashed a warning. She wouldn't say what she wanted so bad to say. The threat lingered in the air. No, it wasn't a threat, but an unspoken promise.
I'll kill you...
