The Setting.....
A long winding forest road covered in magnificent oaks. The Moon is high the sky. Its bright blue light making the sky purple and the ground mysterious. A Rogue female elf makes her way silently through the underbrush. She has noticed a small traders cart. The trader has set up camp.
The characters.....

She adopted a ferret whom she calls Gavin. Gavin and her left the Caravan and travel on their own, when ever and where ever they can, trading goods and services.

Ariel walked slowly up the beaten down, dirt road. She had a cart full of junk behind her.
" I really wish we had a horse." she said to her faithful companion Gavin.
Gavin just looked up at Ariel and scrunched her nose. The cart had to carry everything Ariel had, and it was even where she slept when it rained. Ariel's back was beginning to hurt, she had been walking since sun up.
" When we get to town, I'm counting our money and buying a horse. Or we could just take one," she smirked at Gavin, who just stared back," Oh hush, we could get away with it. I just can't keep doing this. Let's stop here off to the side and rest a bit. I'll get some food out, you look our for travelers."
Ariel went around to the back of the cart, straightening out her back and brushing her dirty blonde hair out of her eyes. " I'm also going to take a bath the next time I can. I have to look good for my customers." she said to Gavin and she broke some bread. " Do you mind if I take a nap, I am so tired. You can wake me if you see anyone right? I think I'm going to stay inside the cart and sleep, out of the sun you know? so I don't get burnt?"
Gavin gave a few squeaks, ran her smooth, brown back underneath Ariel's hand and proceeded outside to sit and watch for people.
" I'll keep the door open, so you can just come in."
Ariel's grey eyes began to grow heavy and soon she was in a light sleep.

Lona had watched the female walking with the cart along the road. She had sat on her tree branch for hours. Watched the woman go to rest in the back of the cart and then watched her companion ferret stand guard. Holding onto the trunk she expertly slid down as the sun had set hours ago. The moon now high in the sky she knew it was time to strike. Taking a whistle from her breeches left pocket quickly and blowing down into it but making no noise. She hoped the ferret would hear the call.
Lona watched and waited for the creature to come. Hoping it wouldnt sound any alarm. She simply wanted to gauge her enemy.

Hours after Ariel had gone to sleep, Gavin heard a whistle. She went inside immediately to wake Ariel. Ariel sat up too quickly and bumped her head on something.
" Ow! What is it? What time is it? Why is it dark?!? We have to keep moving, we need to be to town tomorrow... bah.."
Rushing, she glanced down at her ferret. and stopped. Gavin was trying to make a whistling sound, blowing air our of her tiny mouth. Ariel laughed. "Did the whistle scare you? It's probably just somebody over the hill calling to a straggler, or a small child who is walking too slow, do not worry, but we do have to get a move on. We are almost out to the grass area, just a bit longer in the woods. The moon is bright tonight, so we will have plenty of light."
Gavin looked frightened though.
" Gavin, it will be fine. Go grab me the dagger in the back, I will keep it on me just in case. And here, we have a sword at the front, just in case. We are well protected."
At the moment Gavin tried to whistle again, but this time no sound came out what so ever. Ariel took a worried glance at her and then grabbed the dagger from the little ferret's paws.
" Hey, has there ever been trouble that I couldn't handle before?" And she grabbed the cart and started moving up the dirt road, towards the grassy hills.

Lona snarled darkly at the small ferrets actions. Sprinting she closed the distance between her and the carts owner. A small dagger sliding from its sheath to finally lay across the females throat and Lona's face just an inch from the woman's nose. "Halt girl, or i shall take your life without a care" She growled it almost like a command. She noticed the girls eyes were rather nice in the light but knew business was business and no matter her urges she was to find her next meal.
Lona held another dagger to her side incase the ferret tried to get close. She knew the jaws of those little creatures felt horrid after capturing one for dinner about tenday ago.

Ariel was taken back. She felt the sharp point of the dagger on her throat. A rush of adrenaline swooped over her, she had been in situations like this too many times, but they still excited her. She had only had a brief look at her attackers face, but decided she looked too.... too innocent, no, not that. Ariel couldn't quite place what she looked like, only that she looked like she shouldn't be there. Gavin stood on top of the cart growling, waiting for a signal from Ariel. Ariel smiled calmly and put the cart down genteelly.
" Oh, oh," she mockingly cried," you wouldn't hurt a poor girl like me would you? I have been traveling for so long." Ariel tried to sound as innocent as she could, hoping to distract, or gain sympathy from, her attacker.
Slowly, and as secretly as she could, Ariel reached for the dagger attached to her side. She had her hand on the handle and waited to see what her attacker had planned.

Lona stepped back and sighed to the woman. "You know acting innocent is just plain stupid" Her eyes scanning the woman. She was a typical elf but had pretty eyes. Sheathing her dagger and standing quietly looking at her pet then back to the female.
Lona moved around the cart and threw a spell of sleep aimed at the ferret. She wanted food and she could scent food.

Ariel quickly raced to catch Gavin as she feel and simultaneously leaped towards the woman with her dagger. She looked towards the sword that was at the front of the cart, but quickly realized that it was too far away and too difficult to get out at the moment. She tried to get behind her and put her in a position where she had a knife in her back and an arm around her neck.

Lona laughed as the female launched at her. using her years of training she dodged and aimed a low kick to the woman's solar plexus. She wanted to wind her and maybe make her immobile for a moment.

Ariel yelled in pain, but she was not going to let this woman win. Especially since she messed with Gavin. Once again Ariel charged the woman with her dagger, but instead of hitting her with the knife, she went to side sweep her feet out from under neither her. Ariel was exhausted, and was incredibly stiff from sleeping in the cart, she didn't know how much more of this she could take.

Lona felt the sweeping kick and growled as she fell flat on her back. Grabbing the womans leg as she went down she pulled the female to the ground aiming to make the female at the same level as her. If not give Lona the ability to roll onto the girl and pin her there.

The air left Ariel's lungs as she slammed the ground hard. For a moment she couldn't breath, all she could do was lay there. Out of the corner of her eye she saw the woman coming towards her. But Ariel couldn't do anything until she could breathe, and Gavin was still passed out. This is the end. though Ariel, though she had known herself to be over dramatic before in the past. She wouldn't lose this easily, she would fight with every last whim in her, just as soon as she could breathe.....

Lona flipped over and sat onto the girls hips. She could see she was struggling to breath. Leaning down close into her face she grins down at her. "Im Lona little elf, And you?" Her voice slightly lighter. She liked the fight in this one.

The girl felt light on her. It felt nice to have someone so close to her, she hadn't had human contact in a long time. She felt the woman's muscles on top of her pressing down slightly. Slowly she began to get her breath back. Lona the name echoed in her head. Oh how ... how... beautiful/
"Ariel" She whispered when she had enough air in her lungs. She felt a small smile itch at the corner of her lips.

Lona watched the woman's eyes and noticed a strange emotion float through them. Shifting slightly she kept Ariel pinned. In her mind thinking how pretty the name Ariel was. Soon she was snapped back to reality by her stomach flipping and growling loudly. Sighing she looked down to Ariel "Got food woman?"
