If you were a raider, what kind would you be?
Lets really think about this.
Like would you be a paragon of raiders, and try and lead your clan into the light and help other wasters?
OR
Would you be the destruction of the wastes, the most blood thirsty sumbitch anyone ever knew.
And along that note what weapons would you use?
Feel free to go away from the two examples I used.
Everyone is unique, maybe you would be the leader of a clan that specialized in assassinations and poisons.

I would try to join the most successful raiders, which probably means that they're the most evil.
I'd be a Raider with a very skewed moral compass. Probably the resident medical doctor, with delusions of being a head doctor, constantly trying to psychoanalyze my comrades, despite having no training in psychological medicine.
I'd probably convince myself that my gang was justified, and we weren't as bad as the other raiders, who were pure evil. After all, all we are doing is trying to survive. You have to step on people to get ahead in the Wastes. I'm just smarter than the average waster, not mean or cruel: Raiding is the best way to survive.
This viewpoint would probably lead to me trying to convince my comrades not to kill the people we come across. We can take all of their food and weapons and leave them naked and violated in the middle of nowhere, but we can't kill them, no. That would be amoral.
I think I'm the most moral of all of them, because I nurse everyone back to health when they get hurt. I've saved lives! The fact that the people whose lives I've saved then proceed to take other lives? Doesn't matter. I've saved lives. Can you say the same?
Of course, this is all interior stuff. On the exterior, I'd probably seem like your typical raider, because I am. The difference is all in my head.
Edit: Right. Weapons and s**t. I'd probably rock the bonesaw or scalpel in close quarters, and go with a classic 10mm for long-range stuff. I'd probably also be in charge of rigging mines to a deadman switch, ensuring that the mine can't be removed. Some sort of torture method for my comrades, I guess. I really wouldn't know anything about why they ask me to do that... I'm a good guy...
Appearance-wise, well, I can see my avatar representing this character pretty accurately.

Raiders mean a group.
-I don't fit well with groups.
But if I DID waltz the wastes in a group...I'd have to be ones that are too smart to be raiders, and too morally constrained to be Legion.
-Things like espionage, mass destruction, cutting off huge supply caravans, tearing down factions, RAIDING bases...things like that...but ultimately screaming ' ******** YOU " to every faction that existed...screwing over everything that tried to rule the scorned world.
I doubt a leader would be at top, it would just be a group effort, a unit, not a mass of dogs and their master. Having a "leader' makes it tougher to split up after something big, like destroying Liberty Prime before it could make it to the Jefferson Memorial.

-Smuggling ordinary objects weapons, duh into high-security areas

Now who would give us our jobs?
.....We would have to meet in special locations, marked vaguely for the trail to it, so even a NCR Ranger would have difficulty to follow it...but not too open where a stoned Khan could walk in on it.....
I think it would be simple...just, "Bah, <********> Mr. House/Kaisar/Kimbal. Lets go ******** them up!" Maybe instead of Legion doing the shady things, this little group of 'Raiders' could take down all the factions, and let everyone shoot at each other...then move in to take what's left.
