A millennium from now, in a world away there are two races that live in a dead lock. Their world is one of eternal twilight, their atmosphere is too thick for the light to shine though and so it shifts from twilight to night and back again. The animals and the plants exist but do not flourish; there are no lush forests full of leafy trees. Much of the land is barren and those forests that do exist are coniferous. The Vampires lived off the humans rarely killing for food. The lycans on the other hand ate as humans did and occasionally killed humans by accident or for sport. Both sides found the other’s actions wasteful, and each race scraped on the other’s nerves. But there exist a tremulous peace between them. A tremulous peace that was challenged when the Seeress, a human with a gift of foresight which far outstripped an immortal’s gift as such, foresaw the coming of a Queen who’s chosen people who live in peace and prosperity. She would be known by a mark upon her skin, the intertwining of serpents in an Orin, the symbol of a unified world.

Centuries passed and finally the Queen was born, in the realm of the Vampires. The Lord of the Vampires then, Accalon found her the two fell madly in love. But the Lord of the Lycans complained of it being unfair so Accalon held a ball and invited all the nobles of both races to meet the Queen to be. At the end of the ball the Queen to be returned to Accalon and told him she needed time to think. She retreated to a cabin on the Seeress’s land to decide and on the day her decision was to be heard Accalon came to the cabin to find her dead on the doorstep her throat torn out. He knelt ad wept by his beloved’s body and moments later Channe, the lord of the Lycans came upon them. The accusations flew and it was finally decided to see the Seeress and ask her whom the Queen would have chosen. When the question was posed the young girl’s face wrinkled with confusion but she said, “She would have said Lord Channe’s name with certainty. And so the war began the Lycans attacking the Vampires for stealing the peace and prosperity that supposedly should have been theirs and the Vampires fought back knowing how their Lord had loved and lost, and suspecting the Lycans of fowl play. But in a hundred years it was foretold that the Queen would be reborn, one last time.

Character Name: Lord Accalon le'Fel
Age: 276
Appearance: [User Image
Race: Vampire
Occuaption: High Lord of the Vampires
Bio: Accalon was the youngest turn of the last leader of the Vampires and he was not meant to inherit the rule but during some attacks on his maker's kingdom during the troubled time of changing rule. One of the major battles was lead by a young lycan woman who though she looked weak easily took out Accalon's three elder 'brothers', and turned to attack him. But she underestimated young Accalon's skill with a blade and died with a look of suprise on her face as he ran her through. Accalon never forgot her face, and it haunted him for a long time, but he did not have time to dwell because after the battle he was the strongest remaining vampire and named High Lord, in his maker's stead, for he too had died in the battles. Accalon spent a great deal of time bringing his people back together and unifying them. He was kind and just but he never hesitated to sacrafice for the greater good. He was veiwed by many as one of the greater rulers there had ever been after only a few years in power. Accalon visited the Oracle every year to ask what more he could do for his people, he kept this up in honor of his maker and his brothers that had been lost to defend the land he now ruled. It was a little more then a century ago that the Oracle told him of the comming of the "Queen" whose chosen lord would have a reign blessed with peace and prosperity, he decided to seak such a one out. He found her before Channe, the lord of the Lycans did and despite his inital intrest in her as a means to an end he found himself falling in love with her, and for the first time in his life willing to claim something for himself rather then forsaking everything in memory of his family. He was sure she felt the same way about him but that conviction was shaken when she told him at the party he had thrown in her honor that she needed time to choose between him and Channe, whom she had only met a few hours before. He accpeted it and waited part of his heart still sure she loved him as he loved her. On the day the choice was to be decided he went to her house and found her body. She had had her throat torn out, and in that moment he felt everything in him cry out in a single voice and die. His heart was too dead to even feel any anger when Lord Channe accused him of slaughtering in cold blood the only woman he had ever loved, the other half of his soul. His advisers took the matter before the Oracle and he was told the Queen would have, "said Lord Channe's name..." but through his distress he heard the faintest hint of a confused inflection caught in the Oracle's voice which he knew was not normally there. And when the Oracle said she would be reborn he felt his heart find a reason to live once more, if only so he could see her face again, even just once. And so he has waited, none of his people beleive he would have ever harmed the Queen no matter what her choice, at least any who had seen the two together could not ever belive it. But in the hundred years since her death he has had to fight for his land once more with the Lycans attacking, claiming that they had lost their chance at peace because of his jealous heart. Accalon lives only to defend his people, with the tiny flame of hope burning within him that he needs to live to see her again.
Personality: Accalon is like a faded painting, some of the passion and brightness remains but it has been worn away by age and expierences. He still has a kind heart but some how dealing with him, even if he is helping hurts your heart more then anything.

Username (Gaian): Catrina Maria Ariez
Character Name: Lord Channe Lunnare
Age: 487
Appearance: User Image
Race: Lycan
Occuaption: Pack Master of the Lycans
Bio: Channe was the eldest of his own family pack, and had great ambitions for his sucess later in life, he wanted to be Alpha of not only his pack but the Pack Leader of his district. So when the trials to redefine the Pack Order came around he was well trained, in the trials the most that was ever expected was that two pack leaders might trade positions or there might be an upset and a younger lycan would take a leader position, but Channe had not trained for no reason and he fought, tooth and claw past all the ranks in an unprecedented coup de'tat he took the position of Pack Master. The position was of course challenged and Channe fought all the challengers to secure his position. The last Pack Master's female, Scyra Lyci, had stayed with her position and helped Channe with learning some of the basics of the politics of his new position, and he found himself attracted to her for her delicate appearance, and inner passion. She fought by his side in more then one battle and saved his life as he saved hers. He finally chose her as his mate, a high honor since it was permanent, one mate, one lifetime. But before the ceremony that would make it final word reached them that the Vampire Lord was dieing and had not yet named a sucessor, Scyra pressed for them to delay the ceremony and attack since an opportunity like this would not come again. Channe finally agreed and led one of the two leads of the two pronged attack, but in the middle of the battle he felt an overwhealming sense of dread and hurried to her side in time to see a young vampire run her through. He would have killled the creature but his people were losing and the young vampire had just been pulled deeper into the vampire's defenses, Channe later found out who the boy had been and swore to do unto him what he had done. He finally found his opportunity years later when the boy fell in love. Channe slayed the girl and watched as the boy, now a young man ate his own heart out in despair, and to add pain to injury he pressed his forces with lies and half truths to attack Accalon's people to cause more pain to a ruler who foolishly cared for so many lives. To open your heart to others was a fool's choice. Love is not worth the cost.
Personality: Channe is driven, by a force within himself that time and pain have not dimmed, rather, strengthened. He values people for their abilities, and nothing more. His warriors are the elite and given whatever they desire, to keep the positions filled by only the best.

Rank: Pack Master

What is there to life when all you love is gone?

User Image

It was a large room with a vaulted ceiling, the pillars carved from single blocks of alabaster, no expense had been spared to build this, what would almost be considered a temple. The floors were polished, black marble and in the center of this single room, raised on a dais, rested a white marble sarcophagus inlaid with abalone, pearl and ivory. Such was the beauty, of the stark contrast of the room itself that it took a moment for it's occupant to even register to an observer's eye. A man dressed all in black the same shade as the floor, knelt on the stairs to the ornate casket, he remained before it for some time, nearly an hour, before he rose at the sound of light foot falls down the hallway leading to the room. A woman emerged from the hall a moment later, dressed all in the shade of blue reserved for priestess and seerers the world over, and a sad smile played across her lips, "My Lord. You must rise now. You can mourn no longer for the past." The woman could not be more then twenty-five and yet she spoke with a crone's solemnity, for after all, she was known as the priestess of Azure Sky, for in a world bitterly divided by war and strife, she was the only one who stood between and yet shared by both, just as the sky above. It had been she who had foreseen the Queen who would one day come and end this bloodshed, 'And bring her chosen Lord's people to peace and prosperity'. Accalon had believed in that dream and his prayers were among the countless that had prayed for it's fulfillment and an end to the fighting and death that threatened to bring both sides extinction long before it brought peace.

"The time has come..." The woman continued, as Accalon hesitated from taking that final step down from the dais, "Leave what is dead, and come... the Queen is waiting." Accalon took the last few steps and followed the priestess down the hallway, never looking back. The hall led into a hall that was only the gateway to the rest of the palace, after the death of the Queen Accalon had had this built for the priestess for protection and as a tribute to her power, the werewolves not to be out done had contributed as well, the only peaceable endeavor between the two factions in time beyond memory. The palace was guarded by vampires, humans, and weres alike, all loyal only to the priestess, and this palace stood as sacred ground, not matter how bitter the fighting grew over the years no living creature would shed blood in this place. All feared that the death of the priestess would herald the end of their last hope for the fulfillment of the prophecy, and now nearly two decades had passed and the Queen's return was at hand.

Accalon paused at the doorway to leave the palace, his carriage waiting, and he turned back to the priestess, "Please, a gift if I may... for the Queen, you need not tell her it is from me, it is not an attempt to curry favor." At his nod the footman ducked into the carriage and emerged carrying a bundle wrapped in black silk. Accalon unfolded the four folds ever so carefully and raised aloft a dress, in one fluid motion before letting it fall to lay across his out stretched arms. The top of the dress had slim straps that settled on the shoulders trimmed in the purest of white lace, a simple bodice led down into softly blended colors, pale gold, the pale green of sea foam, and the soft blue of the shimmer light dancing a midst the shallows. The front of the dress was split allowing the wearer the freedom to move about while revealing a the length of the wearer's legs. Motioning back to the silk bundle Accalon motioned subtly with the hand still holding the top half of the dress, "There is also an anklet, a hair ribbon, a shawl and slippers to match." Accalon said his voice oddly reserved, for indeed there were, the anklet and ribbon both made of the same delicate lace as the shoulder straps, and the shawl a light gauze trimmed in that lace. The slippers were a soft blue the same hue as the hem of the dress, "I do not know if the Lady will have such garments as are appropriate for the formal gatherings she will need to attend. And... I had some things that Leena had made, that she never wore, still in my keeping. So I hope they might be of use... to our new Queen." His voice was even and betrayed not a word but there was no question that in two decades these garments had been well cared for as the last possessions of the woman he had loved and lost. With a care bordering on reverence Accalon folded the gown and laid it back, folding the black silk once more to cover it, and handed the entire bundle to the Priestess with bow before turning and descending the stairs to the waiting carriage. Without another word being said, he was gone, having returned to his kingdom.

The priestess held the precious bundle and felt a moment's wavering of her own heart, but such emotions were not hers to hold. She was the Priestess of the Azure Sky and as such she could not offer any leniency lest her impartiality be questioned and all hope for an end to this bloody competition be lost. Handing the bundle to an attendant the priestess hesitated before telling the attendant to lay out the garments in the guest rooms for the Queen. Aria, who had long since lost herself to her duties as priestess consoled herself that at the very least the young woman whose life she was about turn upside down, might at least be able to feel the love that lingered in that beautiful dress. She would feel little other happy emotions, as she was tossed into a political mix full of circling enemies held only in check by the climes of civility and the word of a priestess. Aria signaled for her carriage to be prepared, she would leave now and collect the Queen-to-be from where she had been tucked away, safe and sound in a small human village, until that day when she would be called upon to be more then anyone around her would ever realize. Aria accepted a cloak and wrapped it tight around herself before ascending to her carriage and heading out.

Duty. Honor. And the promise that you will love again.

The priestess descended from her carriage, her ice blue veils swirling around her, few people knew the sight of her bare face, and it only added to the mystery and lore that seemed to surround her. Aria disliked the mystery that kept her separate from the people she felt needed her most, those without power; however it was necessary for her mystique to continue since it gave her power on par with those on the highest echelon on power, and through there she could protect those she could not directly interact with. Word of the carriage having arrived, had spread quickly through the village like wild fire; people were pouring out of their homes to line the streets, first kneeling and then bowing their heads until they touched the ground. Inwardly Aria cringed at the sight of such prostration but it was unfortunately unavoidable, so she would do her best to keep her visit of short duration and bother their lives no longer then nessisary. The most good she could offer them was as a symbol perfect and untouchable, step by measured step Aria made her way down the isle of humanity, in her heart she knew Leena was out there, but she could see in her mind's eye the face of a different young woman. A young woman who knew nothing of the friend and almost mother Aria had lost when Leena died, nor of the lover Lord Accalon still mourned for, every day visiting her shrine. Amongst these people was a young woman who would soon be lost in a sea of the past, and Aria only hoped she would forgive the woman whose vision had brought her there.

Aria stopped at one down turned form, the long hair brown, but much of that color could be from infrequent washings, for the village was a small one, and water a comodity that was not often wasted on bathing, and since it was the cold season, the rivers were too freezing for such pursuits. Aria turned to face the young girl, she already knew who she was, but she still needed to see the young woman's face before she could convince herself there truly was no doubt. "Rise." Came the soft chime of Aria's voice at it's most commanding and formal, and already the whispers started up and down the isles, as people gossiped from their suppine positions and cast low looks, skirting along the ground to see who had been addressed by the Priestess of the Azure Sky.
