I love the book but I never watched the live action movie. But I watched the animated The Hobbit If you have not watched the animated version just so you know its old. it came out in 1977 here is the trailer for it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_JMOPCo31M

I thought it was pretty good, but I'm on the other side when it comes to the animated film I just enjoyed it more. I also agree it's not great that they split it into multiple films.

Its not a bad movie when it comes to story and having a comedy to it but other than for that it hasnt gotten Much past a 7 on my scale.
