- Character Personality HaeRin is an ambitious girl who tries very hard at everything. She's quite the chatterbox, so people who like being isolated would definitely hate her. Her bubbly and optimistic nature makes it hard for her to take things seriously, which usually does not work in her favor as she enjoys blowing off work. Rin believes that there's always a bright side to things no matter how hopeless a situation may seem. It's rare for her to be seen with a frown. Even if something upsets her, she does not physically show it and hides it. She has an extreme sense of forgiveness which is ultimately her downfall. Being merciful to enemies isn't necessarily a good thing. Her actions make her seem very dense, but some believe this is just her tactic of playing dumb.
She has a stubborn side to her as well. When she truly disagrees with something, she will act childish about it and throw fits. She's also mute, due to her training as an assassin. She usually either scribbles something down, or makes gestures with her body (sign language even), to say what she wants. People that are considered close to her can tell what she wants to say just by looking at her though.

Even though she is "mute", Sagishi knows her inside out and can tell what she's thinking just by her glancing at him. Considering Hae Rin isn't actually mute, Saigishi is the only person who has ever heard her voice. Knowing this, Saigishi helps her keep up the appearance that she is mute.

Hae Rin was born a royal princess of the Joseon Dynasty in Korea. She was the daughter of the second ruler of Joseon: King Sejong. He was known as "King Sejong the Great", and was known to be the man who invented the Korean alphabet. Hae Rin was his daughter by blood, but not by name. Her name is not stated or documented within historical texts because she was never "officially" a princess. There was a threat to the Queen during the time she was pregnant with Hae Rin and therefore gave birth to her in secrecy. Once she was born, they faked the infant's death and would announce it publicly. The King and Queen never actually gave her a real name. They instead gave her an alias: Hae Rin Shin.
Hae Rin was of course, living in seclusion for most of her childhood but became an assassin when she turned fourteen. It was her life as an assassin that she became mute. She didn't lose her ability to speak, but she just chose not to. All it took was a good stare or nod and everyone understood her orders. The assassin's guild, Heuksa Chorong took her in as their own. The guild took on odd assassination jobs, as long as they were high paying. There were three leaders of this guild: In, Cheon, and Ji. Following the death of Cheon, she immediately became the successor and would lead the guild at a mere age of eighteen, and was given the assassin's name: Rin. However, during the time she held such a high position, she would come across a job that required the murder of the current King and Queen.
Her loyalty for her parents prevailed as she carried out a secret plan of purging the guild of the other leaders so that the guild would stop working for anyone but the royal family. While working under Heuksa Chorong, she managed to gather a rather large amount of followers who eventually helped carry out the execution of In and Ji. The guild was now completely under her power and they would work only for the palace, taking on assassination requests from the royal family. Since then, Hae Rin became a personal bodyguard for the King and Queen, making sure they were safe.
Hae Rin was to be betrothed to another noble who held power and was influential: Jae Hyun Ryu. Although arranged, their feelings were mutual for each other and they would marry. It turns out there was an ulterior motive for the marriage. Her husband was the man who had put in the request for the assassination of her parents a few years ago and had planned to attempt to kill them along with the other royal family members. The King and Queen had their suspicions and had purposely put Shin under watch by having Hae Rin marry him. Of course, Jae Hyun had no idea that she was actually their daughter. She was just someone the King and Queen introduced to him. Hae Rin tried to convince him to see the error of his ways, and would reveal to him who she was. Jae hyun was at this point, not sane when he found out and picked up a weapon to try to kill Hae Rin. She killed him, and then herself.
She ended up in the Rukongai in one of the worst possible districts. Somehow, her fighting skills came to her naturally when fending off the neighboring thugs which landed her in the shinigami academy. She was able to learn to harness her spiritual energy and was extremely happy that she had a knack for healing. The thought of healing people excited her over fighting and killing. Upon graduation, she would immediately join squad four.

- Character Hair Length/ Style Her hair reaches down just past her waist, and is kept in pigtails all the time. When she isn't wearing her hair in pigtails, it's even longer!

- Character Description: Hae Rin possesses a thin, slender build. People wonder how she eats to much and maintains such a small frame! She has two weapons, which are tucked away in her belt on both sides.
- Character Attire: The standard shinigami uniform, except hers is sleeveless, shows her mid-drift, and her bottom is a skirt. In her gigai, she dresses more modern, in a racerback pink tank top and a denim miniskirt.

Ryokyoku are actually twins, by the names Yin and Yang.

Two long blades, that are arm length from the shoulder to the tips of Rin's fingers. The slightly rounded area of her blade allows her more room to defend herself.

- Zanpakutō Shikai Abilities
1. Mirror of Yin [Yin]: Yin’s blade has the ability to reflect ranged attacks back depending on how Rin is holding her weapon. If she were holding her blade at an upward angle, the attack would reflect upwards. This is the same case if she had her weapon held at a downward angle. She has yet to master holding her blade in a perfect angle to be thrown back directly at the caster. However, a higher level opponent may overpower this ability. She may use this ability twice consecutively with a cooldown of 3 posts.
2. Yin's Gate [Yin]: Attacks can be absorbed by Yin, and the attack dissipates within the blade. However, depending on the strength of the attack, it can be only partially absorbed if it proves to be too high-level for Rin. This still alleviates the attack, though. She can use this ability once every two posts.
3. Balance Rejection [Yang]: The opponent experiences a reduction in the power of his/her abilities. This includes Kidou, cero, abilities conducted through the opponent's zanpakutou and the like. The amount of power taken away relies on both the level of the user and opponent.This ability spans for three posts, and has a cooldown of another three posts.
4. Pentacle of Yang [Yang]: Rin draws a pentacle with her zanpakutou (in air), enabling her to not only enhance her abilities, but her allies as well. The amount depends on how much reiryoku she uses. It almost serves as a battery and can drain her if she overuses it.
