X is an orphan who has practically lost hope in leaving his orphanage with a family. After all, he's a young adult, and it's not very often that a young adult gets adopted. Actually, he was supposed to have left already, if not for the kind caretaker letting him stay until he moves to a college. So, of course it would come to him as such a surprise when he finds out that a man, and a very rich one, had wanted to take him in as his grandson. A few signed forms later, X is living in a mansion, he has a new family, and he is now going to a prestigious private school where he can get a better education. For the most part, this was his dream coming to life.
There was a flaw in this supposed perfect life, though: X's new older brother, Asher, doesn't like him. In fact, he wants nothing to do with X. He hardly looks at him, he hardly says a word to him, and he even denies that X is part of his family. It doesn't even help that Asher acts like the ideal prince to everyone else. As much as X would like to try to get along with his sibling, he is finding it increasingly uncomfortable to be around him.
There is a locked door next to X's room that nobody has entered in years. X feels that the only way he could begin to understand his brother is by looking into that room, but Asher is the only one who has the key. At this point, there seems to be a dead end. How would X be able to find out why Asher hates him, if he can't interact with his brother at all?

List of Residents Name of Orphanage: The Crazy Tomboy Please sign here: Asher Damican I'm this old: 20 In a relationship, I'd be: Seme I'd say: Asher is the biological grandson of Daniel Damican, the wealthy chairman of L'Ange Pur Academy. Asher could be considered the school's prince, but he quite despises the title. Besides his grandfather, the only one who saw Asher as a human was his late little brother, Raki, who died in a robbery with his parents. To this day, Asher blames himself and he grew to hate everything that reminded him of his beloved sibling, especially his adopted one. He probably hates his grandfather even more for adopting the kid, because it felt a bit like replacing Raki. (Personality will develop with story) Vision: Name of Orphanage: Shoogar Hiie Please sign here: Youru --- I'm this old: 18 In a relationship, I'd be: Uke I'd say: The eighteen year old is quiet and tends to keep to himself. Having never known his father, Youru was raised by his Japanese mother. After she fell ill and died, he was sent to the orphanage. He had a rough time since he only spoke Japanese and very basic English. He was often teased and babied due to this which made him dependent on the workers. Having spent so many years in the orphanage, he was worried about being homeless, but thankfully it was all taken care of. Now that he has a family to take him in, he's walking on the clouds... But Asher hates him and this makes him feel like when he first got to the orphanage. He hopes he can find out why... Vision:

Asher sighed as he strolled through the halls of his mansion, a spotted silver key twirling on his finger. His face appeared cold and stoic, but his heart was aching. "It's time to visit him again today," he muttered to himself as he reached a red door. Inserting the key, he opened the door and passed through, closing it behind him and locking it from the other side.

The adoptive sibling peeked around the corner, having followed his brother to the mysterious door. He was inside again... "What's inside...?" He asked softly, tip-toeing to the door to press his ear against the red wood. He knew there was a reason Asher disliked him... Was the answer why behind is door? Youru believed so. Listening carefully, he waited to hear anything.

Asher just stood there in darkness, navigating his way to the other end of the room. He had been doing this for years, walking into this room and just standing in darkness. It must have been very weird, but he cared not. "I'm back. Did you miss me?" he asked no one in particular. Well, he was asking someone, but he was unable to answer. Asher's eyes started to adjust to the lack of light and he closed them. He didn't want to see anything here. Wetness rolled down his cheeks.
"How long has it been? 3 years? Have you grown in Heaven?" There was silence. That terrible, terrible silence. Letting out an exasperated sigh, Asher turned back and headed to the door, drying his eyes before he opened it. His eyes narrowed at the person standing there. "What are you doing?"

Who was Asher talking to? Was there someone or something inside? His thoughts were interrupted as the door sung open, causing the younger of the two to stumble forward. Staring up at the older male, he tried to come up with something. Unable to think of anything, he hightailed it down the hall and out of sight. How could he answer the one who hated him so much?

Asher glared at the direction that his supposed sibling ran off in and then he shook his head. Stepping out, he closed and locked the door behind him and was about to walk off until he heard a cough.
"Asher, must you always be so cold to the boy?" asked an elderly man's voice. "You should try to get to know him. He's your brother now, you know."
Without turning, Asher sighed. "He's not my brother. He never will be," he said, his annoyance and discomfort building. "I suggest you stop trying to make me get along with him, Grandfather." With that, he left, not waiting for any reply.

Panting quietly, Youru sat on the couch, knees held close to his chest. "What did I do to make him dislike me?" He asked himself quietly, burying his mouth and nose into the scarf around his neck. He never took it off since it was his mother's. Sighing into the warmth of it, he looked around. "It's probably because I don't belong here..." He felt more alone than ever. "Okaa-San..." He sniffed, burying his face into the small space between him and his knees.

The grandfather, Daniel, had walked in the direction where Youru had run and managed to locate his adopted grandson. It hurt to see the young man so hurt, but it wasn't like he could force the brothers to get along. Perhaps if he could get at least one of them to understand the other.
He approached Youru and took a seat next to him, putting a hand on his shoulder. "Youru-kun, would you like to tell me what's wrong?"

Feeling the large hand suddenly rest on his shoulder, Youru quickly began rubbing his eyes and cheeks dry. "N-nothi-... Asher doesn't like me... What have I done wrong?" He asked, looking over at his new grandfather. "Or is it because I'm an orphan...?" He asked softly, rubbing his burning eyes.

Daniel frowned and shook his head. "It has nothing to do with you being an orphan, and you've done nothing wrong," he began to explain. "I just believe Asher is more afraid, really. I kept forgetting to tell you, but I had another grandson once."

He blinked in surprise. "Another grandson? Asher has a brother?" He asked curiously. Was he older or younger? Why hadn't he ever seen him? "Where is it? Does he live elsewhere?" The half-breed asked, wanting to know more about his new family.

He let out a mournful sigh. "He... he lives in Heaven with his parents," he answered, closing his eyes to help block out a particularly painful memory. "He and Asher were very close, so it was very strange to see one of them alone. Asher was never the same when we lost him."
