My thoughts
I've seen quite a few anime series in my time, and I have to say that is an extremely good one. There is never a sour point in the anime, and the plot runs smoothly throughout the run time of the show. The anime is unforgiving in some cases, but I believe this is to show the brutality of the struggle the people are going through.
One good thing I liked about the anime was how it showed you how the boys progressed, how they grew up and how they changed - it makes you become attattched to the characters, which leads up to some very memorable moments in the series. The anime/manga is one you'll never be able to stop watching right until the end - the rough turns in the plot and twists will keep you on your toes.

Happy watching. ~
