Personality: Obsidian is an aloof, cheerful, and friendly teen who has little issues with making new friends. He is excited by anything that is deemed a “mystery” or unknown.
Bio: Obsidian’s home is the desert region of Orre, a land where developments in technology and agriculture are a plenty and Pokemon are tough to come by. Obsidian grew up in the oasis of Phenac City, the capital of the region. Both of his parents were agricultural researchers and avid Pokemon fans, owning a few of there own which made them the Pokemon experts of the city. Impressed with his parent’s popularity because of Pokemon, Obsidian acquired a great desire to have a Pokemon of his own.
When Obsidian was fourteen, he left Phenac City to visit one of the few places in Orre where wild Pokemon can be found, the Rock Poke Spot. There Obsidian was attacked by a pair of Sandshrew while trying to capture them with nothing but rocks, PokeFood, and a pokeball. He was rescued by a Gligar who defeated the Sandshrew and scared them off. Obsidian quickly befriended the Gligar and took him home, much to his parent’s disappointment at sneaking out to get a Pokemon.
Instead of getting rid of his Pokemon, Obsidian was forced into attending trainer’s school in order to be a responsible trainer. The school was located in Phenac City’s Pre-Gym, the only “Pokemon Gym” in the region. Obsidian struggled with his courses (his battling was decent though) but became intrigued by the aspect of Pokemon Evolution and started to read everything he could on the topic, soon becoming an “expert” at the mysterious habit of Pokemon Evolution. After barely passing his first year of school, he begged his parents to be sent to Phoenix Academy where he would be able to have more professional and experienced teachers that have more resources for Pokemon Training. After weeks of begging, his parents agreed and he was sent to the Phior region the following month for his second year of Trainer’s School.
