House of Monsters: An Unexpected Guest
A 1x1 betwixt Healing Assass1n and Lady Beouf
Deep in a wooded area far off the beaten trail is a manor that has been all but forgotten. A once lovely estate, it was abandoned ages ago, and from outward appearances it seemed as though nature had started the process of reclaiming it. It is not so empty as it seems, however, for inside lives a group of monsters that keep it very well preserved and attended to. These beings live in harmony with one another, happily going about their lives, though there was an unexplainable emptiness in their lives as well Very few ever venture so far out in the woods, and even fewer can find the old manor. And yet, as fate would have it, one rainy day ushered in a rather unexpected visitor who was just as startled by the monsters' appearance as they were at having company so suddenly. Could this stranger be what they need to complete their happy home?

 Name: Cody Rivera Age: 20 Species: Human Personality: Cody is a kind and caring person, he loves to care for others. He is shy a bit around beautiful woman but one thing that he loves more is nature. He loves to go on hikes and care for the environment.

That was the question on the minds of all three girls who looked on curiously at their most peculiar guest. It had been quite an eventful day, considering the panic this poor soul slipped into at the sight of the ladies. Granted they were all a little bit peculiar, unusual and even determined not to exist at all by humans that were desperate to keep their existence a secret so as to discourage any relations between the two groups. After all, humans hated and feared what they did not know, and monsters absolutely topped this list of unknown and despised things.
The one who had voiced this question, a harpy, perched upon a bedpost, her bird-like feet gripping the surface with ease. She held her arms, wings freckled with brown feathers, out slightly to help keep her balance. Her chocolate eyes lifted from the human that was still unconscious upon the guest bed to settle upon the red-haired lady who held the end of her ruby-colored serpent tail to her chest, like a child would hold a teddy, in a display of discomfort in the presence of this stranger. "I-I don't know, but... How do we know he won't hurt us when he wakes?" the lamia inquired. "After all, he did seem really spooked by us all..."
"It hardly matters how he reacts," came the voice of a dark-haired woman dressed in a loose kimono that slipped off of her shoulders. A multitude of tapping sounds was heard as she approached the bed with a cloth soaked in cool water in hand, her eight spindly spider's legs creating this resounding chorus of stepping noises until she halted by the bedside. "He is our guest, and we will do everything in our power to be sure that he is not only well, but feels welcome. After all, we are the reason he fainted in the first place." The lamia squirmed a little bit where she stood, seeming unsure of this answer as she watched the arachne place the cloth on the male's head. He seemed young, no more than twenty years of age. "I-I guess so... Just don't let him hurt me when he wakes up, okay?" she requested, and the spider-esque woman chuckled. "Of course, dear. If he lunges, I'll just tie him down with my thread," she assured the lamia, who nodded, only looked somewhat comforted by this. The harpy stretched out her wings with a yawn, then shook her feathers a bit and settled back down to her perching position. "So now what d'we do?" she asked. "Now," the arachne responded, turning her gaze upon the pale-haired male still snoozing on the bed, "we wait for him to wake."

Cody was sleeping normally on the bed, his clothes were still rather damp from having fallen into the pool and from being out in the rain. He began to wake up a bit from his stressed faint induced slumber. He noticed that a light was being blocked out in front of him and looked up after rubbing his eyes seeing the shadowy silhouette of the harpy, making his eyes shoot wide open and he backed away as she looked like she was about to attack him with how she was perched. He gasped and covered his head, "Please don't kill me!?" He begged in a scared tone, shivering from both the thought of being attacked and from the fact that he was freezing cold.

ℱlora xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ℛiley xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ℘aige════════════════════════════ A smile appeared on the harpy's face when the male upon the bed started to stir. "Oh! He's waking up!" she whispered excitedly to the other two monsters in the room, causing the lamia to hold her tail more tightly, and the arachne to step a bit closer, ready to act if he tried to attack any of them. His reaction turned out to be quite different than imagined, considering he backed himself against the wall and curled himself up into a defensive position, covering his head with his arms. The pleading cry begging not to be harmed surprised the girls.
"Kill you? Why'd we ever do that?" the harpy asked, perplexed. The arachne glanced between the bird-girl and human, quickly realizing that her position must have scared him. She quickly scuttled over to shoo the harpy off of the bedpost, the feathered lady fluttering off and down to stand on the floor, then returned to the bedside. "It's alright, young man, we have no intention of harming you," the spider insisted, wearing a calming smile. "After all, it would be terribly rude if we were to harm a guest, even one as unexpected as yourself." The lamia shyly inched forward, forked tongue flicking from her mouth to taste the air. She tapped the arachne on the shoulder. "I-I think he's cold, Hatsu..." she murmured quietly. The arachne hummed at the thought, her sharp eyes examining the male and spotting the moisture that soaked his clothes. "Heavens, you're right. I hadn't given any thought to check, how silly of me!" the dark-haired woman scolded herself, tutting and shaking her head at her thoughtlessness. The lamia quickly took off, returning a moment later with a fluffy towel which she handed to the spider. A soft sigh, and the arachne perched upon the foot of the bed, placing the towel within reach of the human so he would not have to take it from her. "So, might we have your name?"

╔══════════════╗ ► Cody Rivera ◄╚══════════════╝Cody heard what was said, he peeked up to see that the harpy girl was made to stand on the ground normally. He uncovered his head before he looked at the towel that was placed on the edge. He gently took it and wrapped it around himself but thought about how they were acting. He was surprised that even though they weren't human that they were rather nice. He then felt bad for treating them as nothing but monsters and until they tried to harm him if they did, he would return the favor of treating them as his hosts. He looked at Hatsu, a bit nervous about her being part spider but he kept his cool, "My name is Cody... Cody Rivera... um, sorry about my reaction... Its just I have never seen anything like you all before..." He said softly, hoping that they understood why he was scared.

ℱlora xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ℛiley xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ℘aige════════════════════════════ Hatsu smiled warmly at the boy when he calmed down enough to give his name and apologize for being so frightened. "It's quite alright, Cody, especially considering how very few humans actually know of our existence," she replied with a soothing tone one would expect to hear from a mother. The harpy eagerly hopped back up onto the bedpost, perching again and smiling broadly in her friendly manner. "Yeah, for some reason you humans like to pretend we aren't even real! How silly is that? I mean, we don't pretend you're fake," the chatty bird remarked, ignoring the arachne's motion to chase her off of the bedpost again. A sigh exited her lips, then the dark-haired lady looked back towards Cody. "Do forgive her, she gets very excited when we have guests, and it has been ages since we've had one," she apologized, causing the harpy to ruffle her feathers and huff in disdain. "Anyway, I suppose we should introduce ourselves. I am Hatsu, and as you see, I am an arachne. Our feathered friend here is named Riley, who is a harpy, and this young lady," at which point she motioned to the lamia who started at being addressed, "is Paige, a lamia. I believe you already encountered a few of our other residents, if Paige told me correctly."
The lamia nodded hastily. "Y-Yeah, he fell in Jackie's pool, and slipped on Mia earlier..." she reported in a hushed tone, playing nervously with the end of her tail. Riley flapped her wings eagerly. "Oh! And he ran in while I was watering Flora! She was really confused," she chimed in. Hatsu looked back towards Cody with a little smile. "Well, considering there is a fairly nasty storm in the making outside, it would only be right of us to extend to you the offer to wait out the storm. I could hardly imagine a creature of such frail countenance like a human lasting for long in such dreadful weather," the arachne offered. Riley looked at him with a hopeful expression, while Paige peeked on nervously, waiting for a response.

╔══════════════╗ ► Cody Rivera ◄╚══════════════╝Cody looked at them all when they spoke, jumping a bit surprised when Riley jumped onto the bed post again but he did his best to remember each name and who went with what. He then looked at them when Hatsu spoke about humans being frail and making him sound weak but the fact that he sneezed a bit from the cold made him blush but he sighed, "I wouldn't mind staying if you don't have a problem with it... but I have a feeling that i already know the answer, you wouldn't happen to have any spare clothes lying around for me would you?" he asked figuring that they all being girls wouldn't have any male clothing lying around.

ℱlora xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ℛiley xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ℘aige════════════════════════════ It appeared as though Hatsu's comment regarding the frailty of the human body annoyed Cody, though even his body betrayed him by producing a rather cute sneeze, more likely than not induced by the time he spent out in the cold, rainy weather. The acceptance of the invitation sent Riley into an excited tizzy, making her trill in a thrilled manner and jump onto the bed, hopping up and down until Hatsu managed to shove her off onto the floor. The disdainful harpy squawked in annoyance as she rolled herself to sit on her rump, appearing quite annoyed with the arachne that only chuckled at her. "We would be delighted to have you, Cody," she insisted, then tilted her head and frowned at the inquiry. "Unfortunately, I fear we don't, not unless you would care to wear a lady's clothes." Despite herself, Paige giggled quietly at the thought of the human wearing a dress, then quickly quieted herself again, a faint blush on her cheeks at having done so.
"Well, you're a spider, aren't ya? Why don't you make him some clothes like you do for us?" Riley suggested. The arachne blinked as though she had not had the idea herself, then blushed. "O-Oh, right," she chuckled bashfully, then stood from the bed. "I could make you some clothes if you like, Cody. Would you mind if I took your measurements?" Paige pushed her hair back and cleared her throat. "I-I'll be right back," she excused herself, leaving the room suddenly. Hatsu and Riley still looked at Cody, awaiting his reply.

╔══════════════╗ ► Cody Rivera ◄╚══════════════╝Cody looked at her when she spoke, he thought it over as Hatsu said that they didn't unless he would wear a dress which he wouldn't even if he had no other choice. He looked at her when she spoke, but then when they told him that she could make him clothing, he was surprised, "Really?" He asked surprised but when he thought about having to be measured, he looked at her, "Do you need me to just stand up?" He asked curious to her making his clothing.

ℱlora xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ℛiley xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ℘aige════════════════════════════ Hatsu, still recovering from the slight embarassment she experienced from forgetting her talent for clothes-making, gave a slight smile. "But of course. I weave my silk into material, then make that into clothing," she explained, her lower spider body's mandibles, or shortest legs in the front, flexing and relaxing as though to loosen up in preparation for the task ahead of them. "Yes, that would be great if you would. I tend to get the most accurate measurements when my subject is on their feet," she answered his question. "Do you have your measurer thingy?" Riley asked, making a motion similar to one would when unrolling a tape measure. The arachne chuckled. "Of course, I always come prepared," Hatsu chided the harpy, reaching a hand into a fold of her kimono and returning with a rolled up tape measure. "Now, Cody, would you mind standing with your arms out, like a 'T' shape?"

Cody looked at both girls curiously but mainly at Hatsu for a moment as her front mandibles moved, making him a bit stranger out. He thought it over how he had to get up but as he was a bit more dry, he stood in his wet clothing as he held his hands out for her to start measuring him for his sizes.

ℱlora xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ℛiley xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ℘aige════════════════════════════ For a moment it seemed as though Cody would not be so willing to stand up, considering his hesitation and apparent fearful reaction to the sight of Hatsu's lower half moving about in its peculiar manner. Thankfully he did remove himself from the bed in time, following her instructions. "Perfect. Now, this will take but a moment..." the arachne murmured as she approached him with a series of taps upon the floor as her eight legs moved her. She moved quickly to take the measurements of his arms, torso, waist and legs, keeping the numbers firmly in her head. During the process, Paige returned from her short absence holding a bundle to her chest. "Finished. Now, if you will excuse me, I'll go ahead and get to work on these," Hatsu said with a sigh, then turned and scuttled out of the room, her tapping footsteps heard going down the hall.
With the arachne gone, Paige nervously approached Cody, her eyes never meeting his out of meekness. "I, um... I have this sweatshirt, a-and it's really baggy on me. M-Maybe it'll fit you?" she suggested, a stammer to her words as she held out the heather gray sweatshirt. It would probably be a tiny bit long on the human, but would fit him pretty well otherwise. "Y-You know, to wear while we dry off your other clothes..." she added quietly.

╔══════════════╗ ► Cody Rivera ◄╚══════════════╝Cody felt her taking the measurements needed for his soon to be made clothing but he then looked at how she walked away, and he was a still a bit nervous about her being part spider but at the same time, now that he knew that they weren't being mean or actually scary, heck only the snake girl seemed scared and nervous. He then noticed that Paige came back with the sweater and seeing that it was rather long, it seemed more like a dress shirt then anything. He gently smiled to her and gently picked it up from her hands, "Thank you Paige." He said looking around, seeing the bathroom to where he walked over and after he closed the door, he began to undress. He took off his boxers last only to try wringing out the water and using a spare towel to try drying those off so that he wouldn't just be wearing the sweater. He put the boxers back on followed by the sweater and was glad to feel the warmth fabric as he walked out and nodded to Paige, "Thank you." He said kindly to her.
