This is the location where the initiation of the new Beacon students takes place. It extends away from the Beacon Cliffs where the Academy is built. Ozpin claims that those who enter the forest will meet 'opposition', which is revealed to be the monsters known as Grim. For example, Beowolves are found here. There is also an abandoned temple at the northern end of the forest where the students have to retrieve relics.

Aka heard that all the students had to go the Emerald forest, and so he looked at his map and headed towards it.
After getting lost a few times he finally found it...at least he thought he did... and looked around, aka scratches his head in confusion, Am I too early? Where is everyone? He looks around and then pulls his map out of his pocket to see if he went in the wrong direction..again, at this point, he doesn't even know anymore, he collapses on the grass and lays there, great I'm going to get kicked out of this school too.

((Alright here we go again lol))
Aka stood up, well I can't get kicked out, I said I wouldn't , he pulled out his map again and read the announcement another time, hmm well it says "beacon cliffs", but...,he looks at the map once again and found it, what?! Beacon Cliffs is all the way over there? He quickly starts heading in that direction..((This time he's going to get it right...and so am I lol))

"I can finally see in a new light"

Leah soared high above the forest, after being launched off the cliff. The view was simply breathtaking . With her new eyes ,Leah was able to appreciate the beauty the forest had to offer. She wished that she could have remained in the air but she had a task to complete. The rules stated that the first person you made contact with would become your partner. Leah preferred to work alone, so she was hoping that she could quickly complete her objective without finding a partner.
The ground was approaching but Leah was not worried. She removed two black metal plates from her sleeve. The two plates opened up revealing her weapon the Harpy. The crimson weapon appeared as ordinary folding fans but it had multiple uses. Leah held her hands out to the side and used the set of fans to glide. The Harpy also managed to decrease her acceleration. Leah gently floated to the ground without any problem. Once she hit the forest floor she took off running. She did not see any type of alter or clearing from the air but she assumed that the objective would not be near the cliff.

As Victor landed on the limb he pulled Ouroboros from the tree and quickly slid it back into his sleeve then jumped down from the limb. Hmm knowing Leah she probably made use of her fans but I wonder how the rest of the students accomplished there landing. Victor thought to himself as he ran further off into the woods. " Oh well I suppose that info will half to wait but for now lets just focus on that relic." he said with a bit of a smirk as he continued deeper into the woods.
Emert was zooming over the forest looking for a good spot to land and occasionally shoot from the cannons to gain speed. after a few seconds of looking he found a good spot so he brought his cannons in front of him and shot and few times to slow him self down once he was slowed down enough he caught a tree branch to the stomach and feel to the forest floor once on the ground he sat up and said " owwwwww that hurt ". He rubbed the back of his head and looked around to see if anyone was around

I assume I am flying with other children? I mean, we are all about the same age right? It did not matter to him now as the pendulums behind him detached, forming a circle under his feet that would launch him forward with large shockwaves. There he would go, bouncing through the air and into the trees, past the people who were already there. His goal was to land so deep in the forest he wouldn't have to care whom met him. So there he went, feet blasting off with the waves as he flew through the trees.
Cole somehow managed to keep himself quiet as he went sailing over the trees, not exactly gracefully. He looked below him and saw a few blurs, assuming they were people. But as he lowered closer to the tree line he realized he would need to land. Cole struggled to get his weapon off his back, and when he did he saw that he only had a few seconds to stop himself. Cole quickly transformed his weapon into the thin sword and stuck it into the leaves, stopping quickly as he caught a branch. Now there was a new problem...getting down.....

Madoka took out her chained scythe and prepared to stab an up coming tree. She stabbed it and started to spiral down the tree getting hit with the bark that came of. She jumped off and landed, swiping of the bark. She bolted into the forest wondering where the artifact was and who she would find as a partner.
Kuro Rei Jumping down from the tree Kuro looked around and only had one thing on his mind finding the things the professor was talking about, Let see what this forest has to offer. he said as he began to walked deeper into the forest, Kuro was glad he didn't have to deal with the other students since he slid down the cliff then being launched he would have to walk more but it was alright with him.

The sight of an eagle...
Raisa was soaring through the air and noticed that she was beginning to descend. She angled her legs to make the descent a little quicker and to also land without breaking anything. At least, she hoped so; that's what her brother told her a long time ago. She landed expertly, her legs buckling under her weight as she combat-rolled. She stood up and let loose a long wolf howl, hiding in the trees until Nero got there; as friendly as she was, she didn't want anybody else as a partner. She blended in with the trees perfectly and watched for whom she considered to be her friend. She used her strong eyesight to search for him, hoping he was okay and would actually come; how embarrassing would it be if she didn't get a partner?

Miranda tried to steady herself as she flew through the air. Then she pulled out her bubble blower and waiting until she was a little closer to the ground, she blew a large pink bubble directly below herself and landed on it, bouncing a couple times. She sat up on her Bouncy Ball Bubble to look around at her surroundings first. Wouldn't want to pop the bubble and then find that she was in the middle of a pack of monsters or something. A motion in the trees caught her eye, and Miranda was about to blow a Bubble Bomb at it, until she saw that it was a person. Cole, to be more exact. '...That idiot...' she thought to herself as she rolled her eyes, a bit amused at that sight. "Heyyyy, need some help?~" she called out to him with a laugh, standing up and jumping up and down a little on her bubble. Miranda jumped from her bubble to the tree that Cole was in, actually landing on the same branch that he was holding onto. She smiled slightly at him. "Hi, fancy meeting you he--" A cracking sound interrupted her. Miranda glanced down at the branch that she was on and saw that it was starting to break...

Cole gulped when he saw the branch crack. "....Help?" He asked just before the branch broke. He gasped as he dropped his sword, which fell and popped the giant bubble just in time for Cole to slam onto the ground. "....Uh...."
Cyril felt weightless. He glided through the air as though he were a part of the breeze itself. So this must be what the birds feel like, he thought. Maybe a bit jealousy was part of why he didn't like them so much. He continued to drift far from the cliffs, reveling in the feeling.
Then gravity brought him out of his trance and reminded him that he needed to land. Undoing the straps under his arms, he let the leather folds unfurl and lowered into a dive towards the trees. He continued to plummet down... down... down...
Now! Outstretching his arms and pitching his body up, he began to slow his descent, but not enough to prevent an ugly ending unless...
Yes! he thought, luckily catching a vine hanging from a tree. Groping for it with both hands, Cyril used the falling momentum to swing up and onto a branch in the next tree. He sat perched for a while, allowing himself to catch his breath and check his surroundings. He then leaped down to the forest floor and began to bound the woods.
