I don't have any better pictures.
Just a pair of barefoot sandals. Gauge isn't exactly important as the length of the ties and the 'toe' will dictate how large your sandal will be. That is easily changed by adding more/less chains.
What you need:
Size 10 cotton thread
Size 4 steel hook
16 beads large enough to fit on your thread
R 1: Ch 4, dc 11 times in 4th ch from the hook
R 2: sc a bead in your first dc, ch 4, *sc a bead into next dc, ch 4* repeat Should use 11beads
R 3: slip stitch twice into the first chain space, *ch 6, sc into the middle of your next chain space.* Repeat. 10ch spaces
R 4: 4sc in next chain space,ch3, 4sc, slip stitch into next sc. 4sc i next chain space, ch 1, bring one bead up and ch 2, 4sc, slip stitch into next sc. Just alternate until you're done.
When you've done the last 'petal'/picot and come all the way around, chain 30, sc in 14st from the motif, hdc, 2dc, ch 10, slip stitch to the motif on the other side of the 'petal' you started on. Secure and weave in ends.
For the lace that holds the sandal on you just make two really long chains as you'd like. Mine wrap around the ankle twice and leave enough for a bow. I'm not counting them for you. Attach them by threading them through the 'picot' spaces on two of the top petals. I secured them with a knot.
Done!
