    Personality:
    Defined by a sense of Individuality, and presented with a prestigious grace Aalok stands above many of his fellow Lieutenants as a respectable intellect and tactician. Presenting himself upon firm footing and a grounded persona, the Vice-Captain of Division 12 had developed his uniquely stern and unflinching personality at a young age. An emotionally suppressed individual Aalok doesn't express himself colorfully, but keeps his actions and speech simply and clean, outside of his often poetic choice of words.
    Patience, valor, and dedication are aspects of Aalok's unwavering person struggle to be the most loyal and respectable Shinigami, serving as his Captain's right-hand man and unquestioning servant the young man is not one to question authority. Claiming to be absolved from fear, the desire of power or riches, Aalok speaks of peaceful days under a single ruling democracy.
    Strong and steady in both physical stance and emotional standing, Aalok's inherit weakness comes from a lack of aggression. A non-aggressor Aalok isn't one to make the first strike or chase down a weakened target. Not one to waste energy Aalok analyzes his opponents to counter their movements and take advantage of opens that allow him to disable or disarm them. Unable to take to aggression, Aalok serves best as a body guard then a hollow slaying reaper.
    Unsurprisingly Aalok posses a strong case of the "White Knight Syndrome", which brings him to defend a female who he considers to be in "distress". Arguably the one factor of his personality strong enough to break him into an aggressors persona, Aalok will defend nearly any female with his life without question.

    Background:
    As a spirit newly crossed over Aalok was fortunate enough to be taken in by the Akame Family, a middle class family whom took pity on the quiet boy. Raised to be a intellectual Aalok had his nose in a book for most of his youth, learning nothing of combat or the ways of the sword. This lifestyle didn't last forever as Aalok's spiritual energy grew with age, and without the proper guidance it became unmanageable. With no other choice Aalok pursued to become a Shinigami, and became a student of the academy. A talented academic, the boy learned quickly due to his keen eye and strong memory. However his lack of experience with a blade and lack of aggressive nature raised doubts of his potential future as a Gotei shinigami. When doubts were raised Aalok sought only a opportunity to prove himself, however in his first field exercise Aalok proved to be little help to his colleagues as he remained outside the fight. presenting his coffin with nails to be hammered in the eyes of the Academy instructors. The tides of battle changed however when a powerful hollow emerged to take advantage of the weakened Shinigami, making its first target a female classmate. Drawing upon the White Knight complex, Aalok stepped into action, releasing his Shikai and striking down the Hollow with effortless grace. Saved from being expelled, Aalok now carried the burden of trust and confidence, which he accepted.
    Grace however did not come without burden, upon return to the academy Aalok was informed of his Family feud against a noble family. Uncertain of how to respond Aalok asked for advisory from educators that offered him only one reprieve "cut all ties". That day Aalok claimed respect, but lost his family.
    With new inspiration and a harden heart, Aalok focused on his swordsmanship, mastering the art of countering and grappling. Tales of his exploits spread and grew out of portion, which drew the eyes of the Gotei and soon Aalok joined the ranks of Division 12. A steady climb progressed and Aalok improved and blossomed in a challenging environment. Reaching the title of Third Seat within his first year and Lieutenant by his second, Aalok considered himself a full accomplished Shinigami as he had no desire to advance any further. No desire to be a leader Aalok felt he was best utilized as an unquestioning knight to Madam Rosa.

Release Appearance:
[Sheathed Release]: Incarnation glow as flames emerge from their groves bringing the katana and its sheath into a heated glow of pure orange. Burning all that it touches as if it was liquid magma, only Aalok can touch the blade during its transformation without injury. Molten sheath and blade become one and the rapier is forged (whole process takes about a 1 second).
[Standard Release]: Incarnations glow and the sheath liquefies into long tethers that entangle the katana and transform it the golden rapier.

Description:
A golden rapier forged with elegance, the Zanpakuto blade glows hot orange like heated metal.

Abilities:
1. Sun Touched Blade [Passive Ability]:
Durvacaka's spirit brings the rapier's blade to glow a hot orange, representing the heat of the sun across the metal. Memorising like the flames of a fire, the hot metal distracts the eyes and emits a soft ray of light that distorts the blade's appearance ever to slightly to increases its visual size (but not its actually size).
Heat waves resonates off the blade pushing back the air and popping water particles that near its surface (causes a soft crackle). A passive threat the heat coming off the Zanpakuto can be a danger when two weapons clash. This is because a combination of the sword's glow and heat waves would both distract and cause the eyes to tear up (forced to blink) if the clash lasts to long, allowing Aalok to break guards or enter grapples more easily. However, the heat waves or blade glow don't serve as powerful enough tools outside of a single meter radius.

Note: Sneak Attacks nearly impossible in shikai due to the sword's glow and crackle

Day-Breaker Slash [Active]:
Channeling the hot glow of the Sun Touched Blade across the edge of the Zanpakuto, Aalok increases the focus of his spiritual energy into a powerful slash that unleashes powerful wave of super heated air. Described as a hot-aired sonic boom the crackling slash is a nearly invisible discharge visible only by the motion/heat blur it creates. A powerful knockback capable of heating up materials to the point of Hot to touch/burns, the threat level remains minimum. A non-fatal single target disable that serves to reset a confrontation or blind/ disarm for counters. (Can be used to toss up dust, throw a body back or heat up the handle of a weapon).

[Range: 15 Feet] [Cooldown: 1 Opposing Post]

Note: Using the Day-Breaker sacrifices the Sun Touch Blade Passive allowing for a foe to counter strike during Aalok's moment of weakness.

2. Sun Breaking Through the Clouds: A piercing tip forged by the focusing of the Zanpakuto's heated glow to the tip of the rapier. Enabling Aalok with the ability to puncture or piercing through barriers, seals, armor, or nearly any resistance with a driving strike of the heated tip.

Release Appearance:
Zanpakuto remains as rapier, but loses passive Sun Touched Blade. Durvacaka the Immortal Jelly fish is summoned. [[Appearance unknown]]


Description:

Aalok calls upon Durvacaka to his side, calling a massive outwards push of heat that rapidly explodes the water particles in the air which results is a nearly impenetrable bubble of heat, steam and air pressure. A sphere that deflects or absorbs all incoming physical and energy attacks for the course of its limited presence, the "Untouchable Presence" can be considered as a supreme kido barrier or seal.
Though primary a defensive maneuver, enemies caught within the 3 Square foot radius will be throw back with the super heated air waves causing significant damage comparable to a cero. Extremely hard to puncture or get passed due to its combination of heat, steam and wind pressure its best to avoid Aalok during his state. Which doesn't serve to be a difficult task as while within his state he is limited to a walking pace in order to maintain the field. Jumping or running dismisses the shield as proper focus is not maintained.

Note: This Untouchable presence is the result of Aalok's failing to summon Durvacaka into our realm, the heat waves proving that emergence of the beast but the quick collapse suggesting the failure to maintain or control it completely. (Aalok will overcome this over time spent training in the roleplay)

    Skills/Talents: Aalok is far above average when it comes to grappling, quickly capable of stepping in after a blade counter and performing takes downs or limb disable maneuvers within a blink of an eye. Because of his skill in body pressure point and weight manipulation within his actions one could be easily convinced he posses above average physical strength for a shinigami, this however isn't the case.

    Stance: Aalok stands with his right hand positioned on the hilt of his sword and his left slipped within his robes, when drawing his Zanpakuto he draws with the relaxed left hand to brings the blade out with a diagonal swing. However it should be noted though Aalok fights with swords held in his left hand, its is actually his right hand with is consider his primary hand.

    Hoho - Flash Step: Aalok is quite capable of the flash step, but it isn't a skill you often see in use.

First and foremost, I was just informed that the Head Captain has vacated his position. I'm not sure if you want to change your rank, keep it, or take Head Captain yourself, but let me know what you decide.

Secondly, your Background. I know you're going to put it in later, but that section is supposed to be your character's history and how he is where he is today. Not his virtues in battle.

Questions and Clarifications

Ability 1: Is it not possible to have a constant passive? or is the issue that it appears to powerful to be a constant passive? My description may not have been clear but the ability was supposed to be much along the lines of something like Izuru's shikai passive, a constant threat and bases to the fighting style.
- This passive is not a "huge influence" as the description may suggest, if in sword on sword combat the heat could blur vision or bring tears to the eyes but wont burn anyone up. Upon direct contact the heat will burn but near misses wont leave people with any high level burns. The only "true" purpose of the heat is to push away the air, which only results is easier counters as striking a foes blade aside is benefited by a soft push from the wind to create wider opening to grapple within.


Ability 2: How does a 20 foot range sound?
Ability 3: Length of ability 1-2 posts, cooldown of 3 post after ability ends, fair?
Ability 4: Length included in the bankai section, but i will add it to the main bit. I believe it was 5 square meters, but i'm gonna modify that down to 3. Gonna make it a 4 post cooldown, after lasting a post. However i want to allow it to be able to last 2 posts with a 8 post cooldown as an option.
In terms of strength, the "shield" blocks all forms of attacks with the exception of "piercing", attacks that would be most likely divide the wind flow with little resistance would serve as fine way to get past. But otherwise unless the individual posses a much greater strength then Aalok they would not be able to pass through. Of course is still a heat/wind sheild, so if people can always find a 'trick" to get passed.

Additional notes: Ill adjust background after the clarification of these abilities. It was late and i was just trying to get my ideas out before i slept lol. I knew it was kinda out of place.
In terms of position, do you know of any captain looking for a Vice? that i can fill for. I don't intend to make Aalok a captain as he isn't supposed to be "powerful" as much as a warrior very good at a skill set/countering sword play.

The issue I have with the first ability is the fact that one can never look directly at an attack being swung at them without getting blinded in the process. You would have to rely entirely on peripheral vision to counteract this. It's like trying to swim without swimming goggles. All other edits look good, contact me when they're all integrated so I can run through an approval.

I lengthen the back story, and though it is still in the draft phase it gives clearly picture into the past. I intend to perfect it on a later date, as i am still trying to figure out how i want a characterize Aalok.

* I have an intention to actually craft a bankai, but i don't know what i am doing with it yet. At this point is is known Aalok has a bankai, and he claims his "untouchable presence" is it, but this isn't the case. He his however unable to fully summon his bankai which results in a similar effect as the untouchable presence during the phase of the bankai summoning and failure to maintain it.


*Bankai Concept Idea
- Massive Jelly Fish that glows like its filled with magma (or multiple) [basically the core idea]
- Heat Bubbles (pockets of hot air) [highly likely]
- Heat whip [likely in some fashion]
- Heat waves pushing out of limps allowing for projected movements.(thrusters) [unlikely]


August 18-13

- Minor changes to the description of Eye Color, Hair Color
- Added a Family/Family Affiliation
