Krystal paced, brooding. What had happened to her father? Sending her away like that - how dare he! It wasn't her fault her mother was the way she was. Fine, if he wanted her away, she would be away.

With that, Krystal loped from the small clearing until dusk fell, weaving effortlessly through the trees until she was in the depths of the forests. It had begun to grow cold this night, though the camouflage girl didn't care. It was almost winter, the crisp leaves crunching under her paws regardless of how light her paw-falls usually were. Emerald eyes peered around in the dark, as Krystal let the fact that this was the first time away from her father - ever - set in. She growled to herself and continued to prowl aimlessly.

In the dimming light, Michel thrived. He passed in and out of the shadows; solid, then air, then solid again. His paws barely made a sound as the brushed passed the dry leaves, enjoying how close he could get to one skittish critter or another before revealing himself and scaring it out of its wits. Good for meal times.

Actually, he'd just finished off a rather plump rabbit, and was licking the scraps from his muzzle when he heard the heavy steps. He froze and ducked, letting himself blend into the darkness. What the heck...? A female! ...Not again.

Sighing, he turned to go in the opposite direction until he heard the warning growl from beyond. His eyes flashed over to the wild wolf that had just jumped threateningly in front of the female. Well... This should be interesting. Both wolves looked quite capable, to be sure.

Krystal was so lost in thought that, unknowingly, she must have wandered into the territory of another wolf. She realized, after a delay, that she had been growled at. Instantly, another snarl burst from her throat at the offensive sound; a behavior so engrained in her being it was instinctual to respond in such a way.

At the thought of a threat, Krystal's frown deepened, and she tensed all of her muscles as though to pounce. She was in no mood to be tussled with, but that didn't mean she didn't feel like ripping something to shreds. Her claws flexed, gouging the earth beneath her paws, and without warning or words, she lunged at this strange wolf who had decided to fight her; fangs gleaming as they aimed right for its throat.

The wild wolf had severely underestimated the female, and whimpered as it felt the fangs sink into its neck.

Michel frowned and shook his head. Well, that had been a disappointment. "Do others underestimate you like that very often?" he called out curiously, looking at the female even though the caught male continued to struggle weakly.

The whimper seemed only to goad Krystal more, and she made certain that it was cut off before releasing her hold. Foolish. Just because something whimpered - pathetically, like her mother! - didn't mean she was going to go easy on it. Eventually, the creature stopped struggling, where she promptly threw it to the side in her anger.

Shortly afterwards, she had realized that she was spoken to. She had to force her hackles to smooth themselves down as she looked at him blankly, her episode of anger slowing fading from her eyes as she processed his words. Her emerald orbs softened considerably, though she smirked a bit. "They tend to." she replied, lip curling up in a sneer at the thought of those that had done so, "They regret it." Now more than ever Krystal wanted to stand off to everyone; to prove she wasn't weak like her parents, despite the fact that her father had been the one to train her into the strong, independent, and combat-focused wolf she was today.
