So since I finally gotten around to watch the whole thing a while back (when it first aired, it was when I was still taking classes/busy and was supposed to have recorded for me as my classes where more important and I was in a middle of a lot of things last year, but never really did. My DVR likes to do that) and got the DVD, I thought it would be cool to make a thread for it.

Now I have to say overall it was a good series, but I think it had more potential with certain characters and plots that would have made it even more amazing. I do understand why though. When it first came out, it was only supposed to be a mini series with 12 episodes and there is only so much you can do with that and why it seems a bit rushed. Now they are supposedly making four books/seasons in total and hopefully they will expand on some of minor characters more.

Originally Hasook was supposed to have a bigger role and was supposed to have been the one to be captured by Amon's men, but was replaced with Bolin with that as seen. As good as I thought the episode once, I think it would of been better if they stuck with that, as just randomly disappearing and never showing up with no reason behind it bugs me and that would made a lot of sense (he was also supposed to have a family with a few kids, making him at least in his 20's, but said they had to cut that out due to time length. I hope he shows up in book 2 again as book 2 is going to focus more on the water tribe as a whole from what I been hearing, like Korra's uncle, cousins, etc....makes sense to show some of the other waterbenders....and not just saying that because I have an obsession with all things water and characters with those ability. O.k., maybe a little).

Another character I would love to see again is Tahno. Yeah he was an a** and did cheat, but I would to know more behind him and the Wolfbats and their reasons/side of the story. Especially since Toza and the Boar-q-pines where once the long reigning Champions until the Wolfbats took their place. I am really hoping that the Republic City Hustle touches on that a bit as we did get to see a little bit of Toza and Shady Shin and the Triple Threat Triad. I won't spoil it for those who hadn't seen it yet, just post a link. You know there is a lot going on behind the scenes though as have some theories of my own, even if the focus is going to be on Mako and Bolin-

I am sure Tahno probably got his bending back by now along with some of the others. But I would like to see just how much it impacted his life and how much he changed and see some character growth (some say he probably won't be back or wasn't planned on bringing him back but someone who talked to Janet Varney said that she said she couldn't say when asked if his voice actor would be back or not in the series and hints that there is a possibility, so who knows at this point). I think his character as a lot of potential. Was his family from the Foggy Swamp Tribe? That seems to be a popular theory and would be interesting to have more of a back story for him. He is a fan favorite, so I still hold out some hope for a minor role or just to see him once more at least

I still iffy about Mako and Korra relationship wise because of how rushed it just seemed and don't really feel chemistry behind them, just frustration, and hoping they will developed a bit more (I thought Bolin and Korra had more chemistry, sadly she just didn't feel the same way. They really did seem to enjoy the time they spent together and Bolin always seems to admire her. I personally would have supported that pairing a whole lot more).

Bolin is just a great character in general. Very humorous one as well.

Another good character is Lin Beifong. I loved Toph in the original series, so naturally I find Lin so bad a**. Her personality was iffy at first, but she really grew on me fast. I love to see flashbacks of her when she and Tenzin were together before they broke up and Tenzin got with Pema. There is a lot of history between them.

Looking forward to see more of Asami and how she is going to handle things now. After all, her dad is now in jail and the company is going under. A lot went on with her character.

All in all, I think the series has the potential of being on of the best, especially now they have more time to work on it as they were give the green light to make more (supposedly book 2 is going to have at least 20 episodes, not too sure). It is already one of my favorites, earning more of my love now. My only regret was not getting to watch it sooner like I originally had planned. That and not getting the Blu Ray version instead. I still plan of getting that in addition to the Artbook sometime and maybe the sound track. Yuko likes collecting everything.

Obviously my favorite bending is water, has a lot of potential and power behind it. Use it for defense, fighting, healing and can control people/plants (giving certain circumstances and characters).

I can go on and on about why (maybe I just have a huge connection with water in general as my main element in my whole zodiac is water, about 61.1% lol), but yeah....

Here are some clips and sneak peaks for the next season-

Enjoy and feel free to share your thoughts, favorites or anything you would like to add.

Edit-
A fan commentary that I found that is not only really good and pointing stuff out and making points in general and what they think about the episodes and characters, but also really entertaining-

Jealous of water?
LOL

Seriously though, don't be afraid to explain why you think it is overpowered over others and why you prefer it, I am really really trying to get at least a discussion going so it doesn't fail like everything else I do. sweatdrop

You can just airbend the air from someone's lungs.

Air > errthang

I heard that one before, about being able to suck the air out of lungs, though I don't see many of actually ever doing that in the past as they seemed a bit too peaceful for that.

Though I always liked the thought of bloodbending and maybe even freezing a person's blood. It reminds me of puppet masters.

You know I don't which I would stick with, either air or water but to me it honestly seems like the other two are a little under powered.

With a little knowledge of the other kinds of bending, hypothetically a waterbender could use the water(75~% of a person's biological composure by the way) you could easily force other people to bend against their allies. Or just rip the water from a person's body and make them a dried husk of bones and dust.

As for the airbending side of it yeah, ******** your oxygen in your lungs. Or even filling someone's lungs with a different type of gas(nitrogen for example) and they're dead.

Earthbending really doesn't matter. Sure there's iron in blood but I don't think that would really matter that much. And for firebending, you got fire, and lightning. That's about it.

I'd prolly stick with airbending but waterbending would be a fun backup
