Marco Sombra de Milagros

I'm back to the place where I matured...

Marco looked up at the ferry, there was still some time left before he would need to go inside. This ferry would take him to the academy where he would begin a new school year. So many good and bad things happened last year that sometimes at night Marco would stay awake and wonder if it was a dream. He had friends now and not just one, but two girlfriends, and he had many pokemon friends. All of these were goals that he thought he wouldn't be able to achieve in his lifetime, but they all happened in the lifespan of one year. The academy changed his life and would probably continue to affect his future. He was glad to be back because he was missing his friends and loved ones. He didn't separate from all his friends, in fact he spend a good amount of time with Niara and Iris. His parents didn't mind if he took a detour (in fact they encouraged him) so Marco decided to visit his girlfriends. Niara returned to Saffron City with her parents which left Marco and Iris alone to journey to the Kanto region to find her. After much convincing, Marco was given permission to take Niara to his hometown Celestic Town. The trio then spend the next few weeks traveling and a few more days in his town. There were awkward moments and some fun times until eventually they journeyed to Iris's hometown, Nimbasa City.

Marco smiled, they were there for the festival that he could not see with Iris the first time. Niara was with them this time and their time together was a blast. Marco never wanted that time to end, but they all needed to return home for the remainder of the summer so they parted in Nimbasa City and promised to meet in the academy. Some Wingull flew by as the wind blew for a moment. Marco's hair had grown long again which made him look just like his father. Speaking of parents...

"Do you have everything with you?" A deep mainly voice, the kind that could send shivers down your spine, spoke to the dark-haired teen. Marco turned around to face his father. If anyone were to see his dad then they would think he was a frightening man. Marco knew the man all his life and not once did he think his dad was that a frightening man, but he did remember that time his dad lifted their refrigerator because Marco's mother wanted to change their kitchen. His dad move that refrigerator around their entire kitchen that day (his mom was very picky) so maybe his dad could be frightening if he ever decided to use the strength of his (very unlikely). Marco smiled, "si, Papa." Marco's father walked up to him and placed his hand on top of his son's head ruffling his already messy hair, "good. You have grown much my son." Marco smiled, his father's English was a little funny because it was not his first language, but he practiced his English every day and was slowly getting better. His father used to be taller than him, but now Marco was the same size as his dad. His father leaned in and they bumped foreheads; this was affection for them, ever since he could remember his father would always lightly bump his forehead against him. When the moment between them was over, Marco's mother arrived. "I am so proud of my sweet boy!" His mom rushed in nearly pushing her dad out of the way to embrace her son in a bear crushing hug. Marco chuckled sheepishly, his mother was eccentric and he meant that in the good way. Marco suspected that his mom might suffer from mood swings because she could be sweet, but then transform into a very harsh person. His dad and he got used to that over the years, his father was a very patient man which was probably why his parents got a long great. Marco did sometimes wondered if his mom was a 'tsundere'.

After his mom was done hugging him, she joined her father's side and he wrapped an arm around her. "Make sure to call us every week. I don't want a repeat from last year is that understood?" his mother's tone changed to a serious and scolding one and Marco nodded understanding her concern. "Si, mama," Marco walked up to his parents and hugged them both and they hugged him back too. This was the rare cases where he would show his affection openly. Marco was never embarrassed about hugging or kissing his parents even out in the streets, his respect for his parents was ultimate.

"Thank you for coming with me. I'll call once I'm settled into my new dorm." His parents nodded, they would probably return to Phior to surprise their son, but for the moment he was on his own once again. Marco getting ready to board the train until he was stopped by father. "Toma (here)," his father pulled out a small box from his pocket and handed it to his son. Marco blinked in confusion, but accepted the box. Abrelo (open it)," Marco followed as instructed and opened the box. Inside there was a golden necklace with a wolf's fang hanging from the necklace, the fang had a golden tip. "My father gave to me, and his father to him, and now I give to you," Marco's father smiled, those rare indications that he really was a sweet and adoring man, "Cuidate mucho, mi hijo." Marco smiled and hugged his father one last time before he put the golden necklace on.

Marco boarded the ferry and waved good bye to his parents until he could see them no more. He would miss them, but at least now he had a little piece of his family with him. He looked down at the Wolf's Fang, he did remember seeing his dad wear it, but he always had it behind his shirts so only the necklace was visible on the back of his neck, but not the Wolf's Fan that it carried. This item was a part of his family and apparently it had been in the family for a long time. This was his new treasure. Marco placed the necklace inside his shirt. He looked down at his new silver wristwatch. His mother bought the watch for him saying something like "men are horrible at keeping time and I don't want you to be late like your father so wear this at all times, understood?" Marco smiled, his mom wasn't always straightforward so you had to read between the lines. He knew that she wanted something to remember her by when she wasn't around. Marco would definitely remember his mother when he stared at his silver wristwatch.

Marco pulled out his Poke Gear and went through his contacts until he found Iris and Niara's number. He send them both a message asking them if they could meet somewhere so that they could all go to the academy's entrance ceremony together. He wanted to his girlfriends.
