"So Tony couldn't come today either?" Miranda looked around, squinting to spot a familiar address.

"That's what he said," Annie replied. "I just think he wants to avoid house shopping. You know guys: they think its boring." She kept on a smile, under the cover of her umbrella.

"Ya, but don't you think it's just a little odd that you didn't see him all day yesterday, that he stayed out in the rain to train pokemon and now he's still gone?" Miranda raised an eyebrow.

"I guess--but he's done worse when we were kids. Remember that blizzard in Hailstone City? We found him and Caim cuddled up for warmth because neither one would quit before the other!"

"Ya, but I thought he would have grown out of being stupid like that," Miranda grumbled, not buying into Annie's logic.

Annie stayed silent, looking around until she noticed how distant the houses were getting from each other. "I think we took a wrong turn... I don't remember this being near Welsh Street..." She said, looking at the little list of addresses and directions. "Nails, I think we better turn around and start over. Nails...?" Annie looked around to find her friend gazing at an old, abandoned house at the very edge of town. The windows were broken in, boards blocked off most of them and the door was on its last hinges.

"This is it..."

"What?" Annie hurried carefully to catch up.

"This is the place."

"What are you talking about?"

"This house! Spit! This is it!"

It took a moment until Annie actually realized that her friend made her decision. "No. No, no, no! No. That's not a house! That's termites holding hands--Nails, that's gonna fall over at the next strong breeze." On cue, a wind picked up, and knocked off one of the roofing tiles to shatter on the ground. "No."

"Where's your sense of adventure?" Miranda went on ahead to break in. "I just want a look around! If I don't think I can handle it, I won't buy it!"

"This is a bad idea!" Annie chased after. The inside of the house wasn't much better. Weeds and branches had made their way in, the floors were carpeted by years of dust and dead leaves, and the wood was splintering everywhere.

"Oh! Annie look! It's got a huge fireplace! And the kitchen is overhere--it's so cute!" Miranda roamed through freely, ignoring the creeks, the cracks, the leeks, and the holes in the place. "I wonder how far back it goes..." She forced the back door open. "Annie! It's got a huge back yard! What is that? Three acres? Four?"

"Miranda. It a bad idea! It'll be easier to just get a new house--and probably cheaper in the end--than to fix up this dump!" Annie protested.

"I bet the kids and the pokemon would love this yard..."

"Are you even listening to me?"

"Ya, but... You just don't get it. It's perfect!"

"You're kidding, right?"

"If I have to start my life over, I want it to be in a place I'm proud to call my home. This place needs to start over, and I need a fresh start... It's meant to be."

"That's not even close to a good reason to buy this. And we have three more places to look at! Shouldn't you wait before--"

"Annie... I really need this. It's a distraction..." Miranda stared Annie down. She was always able to talk Annie into doing something, or at the very least: to agree.

With a heavy sigh, Annie gave in. "We'll go to the bank tomorrow and see about it."

"Thank you!" Miranda hugged the headmistress, squeezing the air out of her.

"But if you can't afford it, we're going to keep looking! Okay?"

Just be friends with Pokemon

Jason

Jason took his place, directing Iris over to her spot with her rented DSLR camera for the start of the ceremony. Dark wooded cellos and violas signaled the start. But aside from all the hushed excitement, Jason clearly noticed every man with an open shirt and exposed upper body--and every girl even more under dressed (and cold). One in particular almost got him laughing: A blood colored dress with only a collar of fabric to keep it from falling off completely, holding onto a small chain that hooked onto a strap of more blood colored cloth to wrap around her (not so) great titons clasping to eachother in the back, and one last chain going down to the tiniest skirt of cloth to wrap around her a** and little front point. The slightest snag would probably tear the whole thing off! And there wasn't a doubt in his mind that she wore nothing else down there. Here, Iris was complaining about how exposed she was! He told her she wasn't going to be quite so bad. And she really did blend in well!

Iris allowed Jason to move in her in the location that he needed her to be in. In hands was the camera that was rented for her. A camera that would be very much used after seeing the atmosphere around her. One of her favorite sites was the Cellos and Violas that were being played as the wedding started. Iris looked around with her camera, looking at the people. Sometimes she was feeling overdressed after looking at some of the women that were dressed so scantily. She saw one that was so under dressed all as she had to do was sneeze and she would had been in the buff.

Then there were the men, she could throw a penny and find at least half a room of open shirt men. Not that it was something bad to look at. At least they were toned. For the most part. She sighed before shaking her head. She was thinking about Marco again. She was sure now that he was hanging out with Niara. Maybe they were having a laugh about this whole ordeal. But she was going to forget about it and have fun.

Iris looked at Jason and then took a picture of him. He looked nice...for once...

The lay out was haunting, suiting the time of year. Lanterns laid out the walk way, and hung high in the naked trees. Ghost pokemon were let out while guests were being seated, adding to the skin turning theme. The first to come out were the groom's men, adorned in black, save for ties and caplets (crimson of course) escorting the lolita bride's maids in their net stockings and gloves. And following was the bride: A gothic styled gown, dark make up and half washed out crimson hair. That poor bugger...

Looking at the groom, only for a moment when he turned to see his wife, Jason snapped a winning photo. Despite the cold and the dark of the wedding, he looked happy. Like a shining sun with the way he was smiling! It wasn't a traditional wedding, made more obvious when the person marrying them, despite the long locks of black hair and hand sewn dress, turned out to be a man. He was pretty. Crazy! But not bad to look at. You would have never guess until he started talking. No wonder they had such a hard time finding anyone to do anything for the wedding! Freaks! the lot of them!

The party made it better though. Able to take it easy, Jason danced with the girls, a couple of guys, and dragged Iris up several times. "Try one of these," He handed her a frozen drink. "Vanilla and cherry!" He shouted over the music and laughing, taking out the false fangs. "It's a kid's drink, but I figured you could use something sweet! You've been miserable all day--and that vampire wants to know if you're up for a four-some," he pointed out what was probably the best looking guy in the room--er, tent? "One of the girls next to him wants in, but only if you're a part of it!" He explained over the noise. Pffft! Vampires!

Iris took pictures of the layout of the wedding. From the walkway that were lined up with laterns that almost hung in the trees. She smiled at the ghost pokemon as the groomsmen and the bridesmaid were walking by the aisle. The dresses were so pretty that Iris had to get a picture of them. And then came the bride. Iris gasped at how beautiful she was. Since Jason had on one side, getting an angle of the bride, Iris got the best pic she could of the groom and his smile as he looked at his bride. She smiled as the service continued. Like Jason said it would be, it was a much different ceremony than she expected. The big 'shocker' was the pretty...man in the... dress that was marrying them. Overall, this was a collection of odd people that was fun to see even if only once in her life.

Now it was the reception and Iris was so thankful for the flats she brought with her. Between her dancing with guys, taking pictures while Jason danced and then Jason making her dance, she was never sitting down for now. In fact she was had just finished dancing with a shirtless guy, at the right time as his hand was going too down south when she was grabbed and dragged by Jason who was pushing a drink into her hands.

Iris lifted her brow as she looked at the white drink with the bite marks in it. She then started drinking when she was told that it was a kid's drink and it was sweet. As she was drinking, she was listening to Jason talk. Iris nearly spat out of choked on her drink when Jason told her that a guy wanted her to be a part of a foursome. Correction: a girl wanted her to join in so she would do it.

"Hell..." she said as she gasped for breath... "No! I don't care he's cute. I'm not doing a foursome...I know I'm letting loose but that's too loose. That's even beyond just kissing a strange girl or guy. Can we work up to that... I mean tiers please." Iris took another gulp of her drink.

Jason laughed, thinking instantly of how to tease Iris more: He gave a nod and thumbs up to the strange and pretty group of blood suckers. Smiles came on and the man had started to walk over when Jason finally motioned that he was joking. The man seemed to understand, looking like he'd laugh it off, but it was the two girls who were pouting playfully about it.

Finally the music toned down for the close friends and parents to give their speeches to the happy couple. Quick and memorable bits were made: how the Groom's friends teased or tried to talk him out of it, but nothing could make him change his mind. Or the bride's father, "...So I want you to know that I'm not giving her to you. I'm only lending her to you, because she'll always be my baby girl," which (ironically) had the hall of night walkers swooning awe. Before long, dinner was served: Cuts of lamb and prime rib, sides of breads and sauces (except for the littlest kids who got their chicken nuggets and fries). "And here we are," Jason began to pour the wine freely. Like he usually did, he allowed it to air, breathing it in before taking a rich sip. "That is well aged!" He smiled quite happily. It was dry and sweet, almost devilish and slightly spicey. "Probably should have guessed since nothing here is really cheap. How you holding up?" He leaned in his chair, letting his feet rest as he watched Iris.

Iris pouted as he laughed at her response. She watched as he turned to the group. When she saw the nod and thumbs up, she shoved him as the guy walked over to them. Finally Jason told him that he was joking. At least the guy was able to laugh it off. When he left, Iris sigh in relief before bumping him once more.

Suddenly the music was soft and it was time for the speeches and the words from family and friends. Iris was back to business as she was taking pictures of the speakers and the reaction of the party. Iris smiled at her favorite which was the bride's father's speech. Especially seeing the soft reaction that came from the guest. Seeing vampires swoon like that was pretty fun and human like dare she say.

After the speeches was dinner. More importantly, the ability for Iris to rest her feet and eat something. Iris looked at her plate as Jason was pouring himself and her a glass of wine. She took a sip; it was a different flavor. It was actually nice combination sweet and some spice. As she sipped more, Jason asked her how she was holding up after telling her that nothing was cheap here. She could had guess that. Iris put down the glass.

"Aside from groping, ogling and some requests for a sexual act; at least I told them my age...sometimes, I holding up very well. The wedding was beautiful, the guest are interesting and the food is really good. I'm having a lot of fun."

Then Iris did something she didn't normally do in front of Jason or when she was upset like she was, she smiled. "Thank you for bring me here. I needed this."

Far from where they started in town, Hana felt more strange and shy; from as early as the drive over, to seeing the wide open space and patches of forestry. "Combee!" Herb let out his pokemon. "Alright combee, lead the way to the honey hive." The little honeycomb pokemon smiled, sniffing around and following a sweet smell. "Chikorita," He let out his other pokemon. "Hana?"

Hana jumped, fumbling before picking out deerling's pokeball. "Dee-ear-ling," She let out the brown fawn pokemon.

"Sorry if it feels like I'm dragging you around like this," Her boss went on as they walked. "I normally do this part on my own while my wife takes care of the other pokemon. It's just that so many wild combee have joined in this year, so chikorita is too exhausted by the end of the day to do much else. I get a little worried in case a wild pokemon is having a bad day," He laughed. Though, it didn't seem to comfort Hana much. "You don't talk much, do you?" He smiled.

Hana only shook her head, following quietly and shy-like beside her deerling. It was quiet, a chill in the breeze and the faint sounds of the pokemon further in the pasture. "All deh pokemon yu-ors?" She finally chimed up quietly.

Herb chuckled. "Actually, only a handful are. The rest of them are wild ones who just decided to move in." He explained while he looked around his land. "Between me and my wife, we only had a few pokemon between us. But after our honeymoon in goldenrod city, she wanted to start a little ranch of her own filled with miltank. Then I had the bright idea that my tropius and combee might help. For the longest time we had trouble just getting started, but now we do alright and the pokemon are happy. More importantly, my lovely wife is happy! The miltank milk is really rich tasting and works with people who usually can't handle dairy. Grotle's nuts are full of protien and can be ground into flour. And then there's tropius' fruit and the cherubi; and, of course, combee's honey. That honey is how we get all of our sugar to make our pastries, and with mitank's milk: it makes for a great cream or yogart."

Oddish dashed over, looking afraid while a yanma chased after it. Seeing a low standing pokemon, it hid away from the prankster bug type under deerling. "Eh?" Hana looked, as did deerling, to watch oddish continue to hide under it (even as they continued to walk).

"Looks like you got a new friend!"

After some time, going deep into the patch of forest, oddish felt secure enough to come out from under deerling; though it still stayed near by for protection, watching the humans with curiosity in its blue face. Oddiii! A small group called, getting their friend to come back over to them. "So that's its family? I'll be sure to let my wife know that we have some more guests in our back yard," Herb said lightly with a smile. He looked back, watching Combee grow restless. "I think we're close now."

Sure as rain, they came to a giant hive. The wild combee looked anxious and annoyed with the intrusion of the humans. "Okay chikorita, use sweet scent to calm everyone down." The little grass pokemon waved around the leaf on its head, letting out a pink haze of pleasant smell. It was soothing just to breathe it in and out. Andas they drew deeper in the hive, smell was less effective. "Okay, grass whistle!" Chikorita took its leaf, using it as an instrument for a gentle hum. "Your turn Hana."

"Ano--? Ha--Y-yes!" She stumbled a moment. "Dee-ear-ling! Gur-ahss Wii-sell!" She commanded in sloppy English. The young pokemon nodded, copying the older grass type in soothing the wild pokemon.

Deeper still, in the heart of the hive, Herb didn't look at all surprised to see the queen. "Vespaqueen!" The waspy pokemon looked, taking a moment before recognizing him. "My old friend! Your colony is growing still! Congratulations. I'm proud of you." The queen cried out proudly. "But if I can ask for the honey this month?" The red queen nodded, calling over her bees to bring a cart filled with jars of honey. Something Herb had left behind. But a ruckus was stirred up when a little furry thief came in, standing on its tail and taking a small jar that toppled others over. "Hey! Stop!"

The sentret grew scared and ran. "Dee-ear-ling! Tahkel!" Hana jumped up,taken by surprise. The deer pokemon was faster, able to use all of its legs to slam into the pokemon. Sentret dropped the jar, curling into a defensive ball. When it appeared again, it fought back with scratch. "Dee-ear-ling!" Hana huried to her hurt pokemon. "Use sin-teh-sis," She said in a cooing voice, trying to heal her pokemon.

Frustrated, the combee began to turn. "Combee! Chikorita! Defend!" This simple errand was growing to be brutal.

"Cor-su-lah! Buh-bell beam!" Hana called out a stronger pokemon. the pink coral pokemon was eager to do its duty and fight. It easily pushed aside the normal type, and helped to defend from the angry combee. But with Sentret hurt, Hana couldn't just leave it there. But she didn't have a regular pokeball... "Togepi! Liikiitong!" Hana called to help the defense. The loud rush of things was starting to get scary. And in that rush, her head raced with thoughts to try figuring some conclusion out. "Dee-earling, use gur-ahs wii-sel!" She said low. Slow and steadily, pokemon too distracted by battle were lulled into sleep.

"Chikorita help deerling! Grass whistle!" The whole hive slowly came to a halt. The pokemon were tiring, and it looked like Hana was more helpful than either of them first guessed. "Now I want you to use heal pulse on them. Can't have a working hive without healthy workers, right?" Chikorita looked tired, but obeyed still. "I'm sorry that things got out of hand," He apologized to the red wasp. "But the hive is still in good shape! No damage done!"

"Good pokemon," Hana knelled to praise her small group. But now there was that sentret. It came to, looking around weakly. That's when she remembered one of her first lessons about catching pokemon: "Neste-ball..." She reached through her pockets. There it was! "Pokeball!"

[-1nest ball]
[Sentret level 4 caught!]

In my dreams, oh I wish I could...

I can Go the Distance

Classes were brutal all day starting from advance battle tactics and ending with survival training. His entire party was exhausted except for his Gabite who did not participate in today's lessons. Once class was over, like many others, he rushed over to the Pokemon Center to get his pokemon healed. Every stage of the woods that mister Reyes set up was tougher than the last with strong bug pokemon attacking them everywhere. The status ailments did not help either; if it wasn't poison then it was paralysis or sleep which cause the students to drop like flies. Once the final stage was reached, there was no escaping poison and with that super strong Scolipede blocking their way to the bag it was impossible to win. No one could take the Scolipede down even when they were working together. Eventually the poison got to them and everyone was knocked out. Some students complained to mister Reyes about facing Scolipede, but the giant teacher looked more amused than sorry. He did explain that it was probably impossible to defeat the Scolipede, but he explained furthered that he never told them to defeat the Scolipede. Their task was to acquire the bag which Scolipede was guarding. If they used teamwork to acquire the bag then that would be the perfect method to completing the lesson. However, no one seemed to have thought about that idea which left many students with food for thought as the phrase said. Marco did feel disappointed that he didn't pass the lesson, but at least he would be prepared for next time.

Once his pokemon were being safely healed in the Pokemon Center. Marco decided that it was time to face his father. He probably arrived already and he was sure that he would want to speak with him. Marco sighed already feeling like he should turn around. He wasn't the quitter type, but he was nervous (scared maybe?) so he felt reluctant. These worries he was having were ridiculous! He needed to start acting like man! His parents didn't teach him to be coward and they would be disappointed if they saw him now! Marco slapped his cheeks, he needed to face his father and any punishment that he would receive. His feet would carry him to his destiny! Or at least that's what he hoped they would do.

While he was walking, he noticed a man sitting on one of the benches outside. Marco glanced at the man then looked away. After a couple of seconds, his eyes immediately returned to the man sitting on the bench whom he recognize as none other than his father! Marco approached the man cautiously in case his vision was really bad and he confused this man for his father. Unfortunately, the man sitting down in the bench was his father. He glanced at him with his usual look of indifference,
"Hello, son." his father greeted him in Spanish.

"Hi, dad," Marco replied in the same language. His father didn't like talking in English mostly because his English was kind of broken. Definitely understandable, but he had a heavy accent which made people think he was a bodyguard or some tough guy. The two of the stayed silent somehow speaking with their eyes rather actually using words. It didn't take long for Marco to figure out what happened. He didn't know the details, but he could guess the beginning and the end. "It was mom, wasn't it?" Mister Sombra nodded.
"She said I was being too harsh on you then she started getting mad and yeah..." Marco frowned and sighed, "sorry dad."

"It's okay, son. Your mother was right, I was over reacting. I know that the Wolf's Fang being stolen was not your fault. If your mother had to step in then the situation was definitely dangerous." Mister Sombra looked up at his son and smiled at him. A kind fatherly smile which shook Marco. He sometimes didn't give his father enough credit. He did have his temper here and there (who didn't?), but he was a still a kind heart father who cared for his family. Marco stared at ground, his hair falling over his eyes to cover them and his shoulders lightly shaking. His father said nothing else and instead waited for his son knowing that he was trying to come in terms with his problems. Marco took a deep breath and stopped shaking. He looked back at his dad and returned a smile to him. Mister Sombra placed his hand on top of his son's head and ruffled his messy hair. "I'll go talk to mom." Marco announced as he made his way towards the house his mother was renting for her stay. Mister Sombra watched his son disappear into the building.

====A few minutes later====

Marco returned, but he returned carrying a pillow. "Mom kicked me out." Mister Sombra nodded somehow expecting this to happen. Not enough time had passed by yet and his wife was likely still in a bad mood. He should have stopped his son from going, but he hoped that his wife would listen to him; he was wrong. Marco sighed handing his father pillow, at his mother was kind enough to give him a pillow to rest his head. "Come on dad, I'll see if you can stay in my dorm, but I need to go work first." Mister Sombra nodded and stood up ready to follow his son. He was expecting to sleep in a bed with his wife, but sleeping in his son's dorm would be better than sleeping outside. Marco walked with his father and they talked somehow forgetting about the Wolf's Fang being stolen or maybe his father did not want to bring up the subject. Marco still felt that he should receive some punishment for not protecting the family item. Still that would be for another day because right now they were just a father and a son talking.

The clock ticked rhythmically in the quiet living room as the family sat on the couch, the twin girls in another room playing by themselves. Takumoto stood against a wall facing his little brother sitting on the couch, held close against his mother's chest in comfort and reassurance and their father sitting beside Kazuma, facing the ground in contemplation, wondering how to handle his younger son going through such traumatic events like witnessing death and even causing it. His mother was worried more than she ever had been in her entire life, not quite sure what she should say at this point.

Takumoto, his older brother, was scared for his little brother, knowing full well the effects of shell shock. Taku had served Team Rocket and it's insane blood witch leader, Gianna. He took more lives than he could count just trying to survive. Even to this day he has night terrors about the battles he was in. He still battles with the voices in his head trying to drive him to madness. But when he realized that his younger brother's experiences were true, his own heart sank into fear of his brother having to deal with the same things.

What made him realize it was all true? Altaïr and Cathair shared memories via psychic telepathy. Altaïr nearly collapsed at the experiences shared by the other Gallade who went with Kazu into the far past. PinYin, Kazu's Zoroark, lay beside and against Kazu, hoping to keep his friend comfortable.

"What are we going to do," Taku finally asked.

"We can only give him the support he needs," his father replied. "While we make sure you're both getting the necessary counseling, you will need to talk with him and make sure he's alright. You understand more than any of us what it's like and you have made some progress in recovering. You're the most qualified of us to help him."

"I understand. The headmistress has given him and the rest of the students who went back there some time from school to recover, see their families and get some help."

"Then we will see if Kazu can stay with us during that time," his mother said, stroking her son's hair as Kazu just sat there in his mother's embrace, silent and eyes closed, trying to keep from remembering the many things he'd seen in the past.

"Taku," he finally said, his voice almost silent and empty. "What's going to happen, brother?"

Taku looked at his brother and then went over to him, grabbing his brother's hand and resting his forehead to his younger brother's. "Just bad memories. It will be difficult to deal with, but that's why we are here. It's hard enough for me to handle. I won't let it affect you as bad as it affects me."

"And what about what I did? I've hurt people, brother... Even killed a few... And the war even led us to fight each other..."

"You needed to survive and that's what you did, Kazu. No one can fault you for that."

"Then what about now? What happens now that it's all over?"

"You readjust, Kazu. Come back to your life of learning, making friends and your training with your family." Taku gave a warm smile to his brother as Kazu finally looked up at him. "I've always helped you and our sisters whenever and however I could. That won't change, regardless your past."

"I'm scared, Taku... I'm afraid of more attacks happening... People looking to kill us... I'm afraid of my own thoughts..."

"You remember reading about Mirumoto Yamamoto, right?"

"I think... A samurai who battled with demons who haunted him..."

"He always fought them and faced his fears. He made sure he was always prepared. Kazu, you need to be Mirumoto. Face those demons. Face those fears. Otherwise you will let them control you and nothing will get better."

Kazu remained silent for a moment before looking to his brother. "Do you still fight your fears?"

"Every day, Kazuma. Every day my fears try to take hold of me... Sometimes I feel like I'm losing. But we've always been trained to fight to the last breath. You will gain control over your fears if you keep fighting back."

Kazu nodded and fell silent again. Taku hugged his brother from their mother for a few moments, giving his brother a reassuring pat on the back.

"I need to go..." Taku says to his parents. "Preparations need to be made for a few who didn't come back alive... I'll be back tonight."

With an acknowledging nod to their son, Taku stopped by his sisters to say goodbye to them before heading back out to work. Kazu stayed with his parents, thinking to himself as his parents were making sure he was alright and focused on them, if only to spare him another painful battle with the memories. The memories of war, death, corruption, and barbaric customs of a time he could only imagine whenever he had studied it.
