Story:Five decades after the beginning of what came to be called the ‘Mutant Revolution’, things are not entirely peaceful. For some, peace is a memory, a dream, a fairy tale. Heroes are few and far between, and villains take full advantage of the fact.
However, there is hope. There is always hope, in one form or another. Rebels. Vigilantes. Stories.
Power.
The Revolution still continues on. Those of the Brotherhood fight for their freedom, for the death of any and all ‘normal’ humans to save themselves. The humans fight for much the same, for the sake of fear and anger and retribution.
There is one place, though, that is a safe haven, and has been since the beginning. This place, a point of serenity in a mad world, is called the Xavier Institute for Gifted Youngsters.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Location: There are three places that are possible placements to start at. A) The Institute, of course, is one. B) The second is the Brotherhood’s sprawling underground facility (think a huge four floor manor underground- if any of you have seen Doll House, the place Echo and co live in is what I'm envisioning, just bigger), called simply, The Fortress. C) And the third is SHIELD facility Alpha, aka AVENGERS City (formerly a deserted section of the Nevada desert, and now a high-tech man-made oasis). This last will eventually house the new-day Avengers team. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- World Setting:It's pretty much the same as we are now, with a few little advancements here and there. The "Revolution", while not really a secret after fifty plus years, is kept away from the civilian populace as much as possible. Mostly by SHIELD, but occasionally with the help of the X-Men.

Additional Notes:
Like any good role play, you are allowed to pick any alignment that you wish. I don't care at all. This means you can be good, evil, neutral, etc. Literally whatever you want.
No matter where your character is at the beginning of this rp, things will be starting in one location, and then it will shift to others. This means that you won't necessarily be going in a prespecified order to take your turn. Think of it like scenes. Your character is in the Fortress, but the rp is focusing at that moment at the Institute. Your character can't really comment on things going on in the Institute any more than the ones in the Institute can comment on your character's activities in the Fortress. Make sense?
You DO NOT have to be a hero/villain or a mutant. Your character can be a normal person, if that's what you prefer.
Yes, I WILL allow people to play the characters from the series (like Wolverine, Thor, and so on), but I have to decide which ones would still be alive. If you want a specific that I haven't listed, ask me

WARNING: The Plot will get really twisted. Complicated? Possibly- but not so much that if you can't figure it out if you use your brain a little. But I mean twisted as in psychologically. Nia has unofficially challenged me (I honestly think it was an accident on her part), and I have accepted. For those that like this kinda thing- you are in the right place. I hope you enjoy the product of my twisted mind!

In the darkness, he woke. Somewhere, he could hear drip, drip, drip; a faucet or shower head. Except the sound was moving, changing. It went from the uneven sound of falling water to the rushed, wind-urged rasp of something like a small sandstorm.
He opened his eyes, and watched her shift into being at the foot of his bed. Man was she beautiful. Dark bedroom eyes, smooth glowing skin, subtle curves in just the right places... beautiful.
And holding a knife.
With a shriek, he dove off the bed, just as she lunged forward. In less than a second, he’d made it to the other side of the room, but there was fire in his wake. The woman looked furious, pretty features twisted into something horrifying that quickly killed his libido.
He didn’t wait to see what else she’d do, and took off, leaving the building to burn.

The night was hot, not too unusual for upstate New York in the middle of Summer. If one inhaled, they could taste the cotton humidity on their tongue, and in the back of their throat. Whenever a breeze drifted through, it didn't last long, leaving one feeling almost hotter for the lack of it.
More importantly, however, the night was dark. As if every light for miles had gone out, leaving almost a void in their wake. Then one must consider this was the mountains. That generally entailed trees, forests, farms... and other such excuses for a black out.
None of these excuses fit. In fact, the whole area for about a thousand square miles - farms, forests and physical distinctions and all - belonged to the Xavier Institute for Gifted Youngsters.
To the public eye, this place was a lovely, prestigious private school that only accepted students of specific qualities. But to those that knew better, this place was a safe haven. The Institute was granted certain privileges by the United States via specific - and secret - government agencies to ensure the safety of not only the school's inhabitants, but the general public as well. As a matter of course, the government got its own advantages out of this 'treaty', but that is an explanation best left to when it's relevant.
The recognized dean of the school was long-time teacher and first generation student, Ororo Munroe. She took over after the unfortunate death of her predecessor, Founder Charles Xavier.
Tonight, Professor Munroe gathered together the students on the lawn before the school to watch a meteor shower, and smiled.
It was the anniversary of her best friend’s death, and she thought it rather ironic - and amazing - that there was this beautiful phenomenon. Nearby, she could hear Kurt animatedly telling the students all about the shower. Beyond him, Hank had his hands in his pockets as he stood amidst a small group of children mimicking his relaxed observance of the sky.
And then there was Bobby, whom hadn’t left the school for this at all, but she knew he watched from a window somewhere. Smiling faintly, Ororo turned when one of the students sought her attention, and went to handle them.

"Danger Room, Training Routine Forty Five, Starting in 3..2...1...Begin.", the female computer voice spoke over the speakers as the Danger Room shifted and changed to war damaged steers, buildings in rumble and fires were blazing everywhere.
A young member of the X-Men stood alone on the damaged road, his arms crossed his chest against his black suit, the enemies of the training simulation appeared, Sentinels. "Alright Daniel I hope you know what you're doing.", a familiar voice said over the speaker, the voice of Rogue.
Daniel smiled, "Only one way to better myself for the team Rogue...", he flexed his arms and his skin covered with a organic steel that shined against the Sentinels spot lights. Daniel darted into a run and slammed into the leg of a Sentinel and drove him to the ground, jumping onto its chest and hammering punches into its chest. Daniel felt a hand grab him and throw him across the road, sliding across the concrete before he stopped to push himself up. Daniel charged towards the Sentinel that threw him, a chunk of concrete flew towards him, Daniel punched the concrete and shattered it, "My turn!", he grabbed the Sentinel's arm and dragged him to the ground and slammed a few punches into its head then a kick to shut him down. Before he could finish him the Danger Room returned to normal, "Hagane, Pro.Munroe asked for everyone to come outside for the meteor shower, you were doing good though."
Daniel nodded, "Alright I'll see you up top then...", he headed for the exit and the elevator to ride up to the surface. His body returned to normal before he stepped on the lift. It didn't take long and Daniel was outside with everyone and stood amongst the other students, the smaller children ran up to him wanting on his shoulders. Daniel smiled and lifted several of the younger students onto his shoulders.
