Hey guys, I'm sorry I've been so inactive, but it won't happen again!

Anywho... I had this weird dream where I won the lottery and made Hogwarts, except without actual magic. However, I had all sorts of electronics etc to make everything seem magic which seemed cool. So, I did some sums of how to make my 'Hogwarts Camp'.

I decided it would be like in the books... A castle by a lake and a forest with a little Hogsmeade hamlet within walking distance. Obviously you can't catch a steam train from Kings Cross to Hogsmeade, so I left that bit out. It would be from 11-17 year olds, like the books. There would be Slytherin, Hufflepuff etc, and each would have their dorms.

In the dorms would have to be 14 bedrooms with 5 beds in each.
That's 56 bedrooms for pupils. Another 2-4 bedrooms for staff that help create the magic. Maybe more.

This would mean that there are 280 pupils. Each would need:
A wand (For Charms, DADA etc)
A cauldron (For Potions)
A brass telescope (For Astrology)
A brass scale set (For Potions)
2-3 Crystal Phials each (For Potions) (560-840 Crystal Phials in all)
3 sets of clean robes, which would probably have to be cleaned while they're there as well...
A scarf
A pair of 'dragon' gloves, which would basically be modified leather gloves.
Three meals a day (840 meals)

First years only require 8 books, which would have to be made because most of them don't exist. That's 320 books for first years only.

Most of those things can be mass produced, but every wand would have to be unique to their owner and hand made. Worse still, they would have to keep them and they would have to remake another 280 wands because if they kept using the same ones they'd be broken too easily.

The castle would need to have roughly 100 rooms, which doesn't include the chamber of secrets or the room of requirement. It doesn't even include professor offices or washing machine rooms. It doesn't include secret passageways or anything other than the standard school needs.

I was looking at how much it would be to build something like this, but it was in the millions and I didn't like it. If you were rich, I doubt it would be hard at all. Especially with professional designers at your side, and JK Rowling would probably be more likely to agree to it if you were rich. In the UK you can get a million pounds from the lottery, but it's practically impossible and it still wouldn't be enough to do something like this. You'd have to get loads of loans and I don't know if you'd ever get the money back. I would charge 100 quid a week or something. 28,000 quid for the first week... I dunno, maybe.

It is quite literally just a dream.
