Personality:
- Komomaru is a very friendly and warmhearted figure in the Seireitei. Acting as both the Seireitei's Head Doctor and a Spiritual Advisor for all who wish to seek his counsel. Despite his young appearance, Komomaru is and strives to be a warm father figure who can be counted on by others if they want his help. This also stems from a past that involved criminal activities and also a life as a monk before he died. Although the two seem to be wholly opposite, they both happened. Even more more shockingly, he was a crimnal after he was a monk. This has led him to pursue a spiritual, religious form of healing that has been adopted by himself and him alone inside the Fourth Division. He is not, however, a lone believer, but he does not speak of his spiritual views unless asked.
He is much like he is even at work, as both a Captain and a Doctor. While this isn't shocking news, there are some Captains that are totally different on duty and off duty, and as such, Komomaru doesn't exclude himself from that list, or at least, the possibility of such. As kind as he is, he is highly accepting of most forms of reasoning, believing that every thought must stem from some stable, reasonable source, no matter how unreasonable the presented logic seems. However, this has several battlefield draw backs as well. He angers some foes with hotter heads and even then, with his life on the line, aims to deliver nonfatal strikes, refusing to draw his weapon under even the most extreme of circumstances. This is merely to reduce casualties in combat, as he can control the danger of his fists much easier than the danger of a steel blade.
When it comes to battling, Komomaru is, to say the least, unusual. If given the choice, he would prefer not to interfere in the fight directly. That is to say, he would not like to physically fight at all if possible, not even fling Kido at his opponent to help his ally. This is not in the spirit of fair fighting, however, but merely personal belief stemming from the same reasons he prefers nonlethal, crippling or "wear down" tactics. When fights become more serious, he may become involved by utilizing his Shikai and granting his teammate various advantages by buffing said ally or crucial subjects. To Komomaru, this is better than joining arms in the fray, at least, from a spiritual standpoint.
In his time off, that is, whenever Komomaru is free to do as he pleases without worry, he often turns to meditation or fasting rather than drink or other forms of immediate pleasure. While not chaste, he does mention that he doesn't believe he should choose love unless the option is presented to him. This can give a conflicting feeling to his usual kind glow because it leaves him appearing to be romantically distant or disinterested. The truth of the matter is that Komomaru doesn't have a preference of any sort and merely follows what he believes, simply expecting that one day, if it hasn't already happened, matters of his own heart will be decided.

Background:
- Bunkichi Komomaru Arisato was born right into the hardships of life. As soon as he could carry a tool he was put to work with the family and soon after as his family succumbed to disease and famine, he was thrust into the streets. Although few people had exceptional childhoods, Komomaru's case was a lot harsher than most. He had ended up without a home in only eight years. The eight year boy had virtually nothing and no one would hire him. He was too young, too inexperienced, or just another mouth to feed. Because of this, he had no choice but to steal and run to stay alive.
It would prove fortunate that within a month, he found a sort of permanent home for himself in a group of monks. Coming out of the woods, he intended to rob the mean of faith who merely provided him with food and offered him shelter. Their actions bewildered Komomaru. He wasn't used to such treatment from anyone. Astounded and curious, he followed the monks to their temple. While it wasn't exactly what he had pictured, it was better than what he was doing, both for his health and as he came to believe within two months, his soul. Initially rough around the edges, Komomaru found he would be thrust out if he continued to act like a common street rat, which is not what the monks wanted to do. So in thanks, he set aside his ways and joined them. Only a child, his tasks were mostly menial, such as fetching water and tending the zen gardens. As he aged to ten years old, he began training with the monks as well. Although this would not last, it did reveal to Komomaru that had he, two years ago, starving and weak, had continued trying to rob the monks, he would have been dealt with swiftly.
The peaceful and rich life of a monk lasted just over half as long as Komomaru's life at home. Five years after joining the monastery, a fire from one of the incense become uncontrollable. If it had been anything but an unusually dry and hot time during the dry season, the fire may not have done much. However, because of these almost ideal flame conditions, it spread rapidly into the monks living quarters. Once it was there, it was easily contained, but not without causing damage along the way. It did only claim three lives, two of the older monks, one of whom died to smoke exposure, the other who was burned alive trying to save the third victim and his own room mate, Komomaru. When the fifteen year old boy woke the next time, he found himself inside the Seireitei. He was shocked. Had he been kidnapped? No, these building looked like nothing Komomaru had ever seen before, and although he didn't know much about traveling, he doubted any horse drawn carriage or even horse alone could have carried him far enough away to leave him in an unrecognizable area. Plus these people had just let him lie there, all these people passing by, not a one seemed to care.
After some questioning of the locals, Komomaru found he was definitely not home. This place was called the Seireitei and it meant that he had died. As far as anyone knew, there was no rejuvenation. You were here as a soul until you died again. After that, no one knew. This through Komomaru into shock. For a little while, he merely sat and tried to collect his thoughts. So many things raced through his mind, he couldn't catch them all. But slowly, one solid thing did get through to him. He was angry. He felt cheated, lied to, let down. All of this boiled up and Komomaru went ballistic. He became destructive, rough, generally angry and rarely ever talked to anyone. He merely smashed shop stands, stealing their food and taking anything he could. While such a thing is not normally an issue for the Shinigami that patrol the Seireitei to resolve, he became something that must be stopped by the Shinigami. Not because of the broken stalls and homes that Komomaru left in his wake but merely because he ended up swinging on a Shingami.
It started out as an attempt to rob a vendor. That part had succeeded, but he had been seen by nearby Shinigami. Deciding they were just some gang of worthless people around his age with swords, Komomaru turned on both of them, intending to fight them until they gave up. Doing what they must, one of the Shinigami stepped forth and cut Komomaru down, leaving him to die of blood loss if he were unattended for very long. And that's how it seemed it was going to end. A blow across the stomach that would end this second life. It was then that Komomaru's first and second life flashed before his eyes, his memories flooding him all at once. An eternity seemed to pass. He saw things that had not happened. More men in black robes, all wielding swords, himself in one of these black robes, a word, everything blowing by him like dust on the wind. He felt himself leave the ground, but in his dying eyes he saw himself standing there on the ground, looking at his leaving body before what could only be the soul of a soul, at least so Komomaru thought, looking at its own hand in shock as the body began to deteriorate like an incense from the monastery. It horrified the dying soul, made him cringe and wish for life, only able to scream silently in protest. And then his body went past a red door surrounded by white walls. The soul of himself standing in the street almost gone. The red door shut and his world became black.
When Komomaru awoke again, he found himself staring at a recognizable Seireitei home ceiling. He hadn't died, someone had saved him. He sat up, looking for his savoir. It was a crippled looking old man who had saved him. As the elder explained, he had once been an angry man as well, feeling cheated by his beliefs. He knew what Komomaru was going through and saved him to see what would happen. Although it would be nearly two months before Bunkichi could move freely again, he enjoyed his time with the old man and his new take on his second life. This was his rejuvenation, his next life, and the cycle would likely continue eternally. When it was time for him to go, he thanked the old man, leaving with only a few days of supplies as he made his way to the center of the Seireitei, aiming for the Gotei Thirteen and the mysterious Shinigami.
Although the journey took several days and Komomaru had to begin rationing his food to nearly impossible to survive on servings almost immediately, he did make it to the walls of the Gotei Thirteen. Getting in was hard. He had to live off begging and couldn't find a way through the gate no matter what he tried. One day, the Gate opened and several Shinigami stepped out to do their rounds. Although much slimmer and perhaps not as physically healthy for wear, Komomaru made his move, approaching the Shinigami and asking to join, or at least, try out. Hesitant at first, the Shinigami agreed and had one of the group escort him to Shino Academy, the place he would be tested piece by piece in control, sword skills, and Hakuda. This proved to almost destroy Komomaru's chances at life. Zanjutsu came first, as it was the thing that most people were expected to fail. Having never touched a sword in his life, Komomaru could barely do anything properly with it. He even protested to using it, stating he would like to be in a medical position if possible. This was supposedly taken into consideration but he was to do the tests normally until further notice. And so he did, failing spectacularly, scoring the lowest one could possibly get for Zanjutsu. The next test was the most important; Reiryoku control. This too, Komomaru did terribly at. He had to have the everything explained to him, which almost had the test end right then and there if it wasn't for the fact that he had a rather shocking early grasp of control. Although no larger than a grapefruit, he was able to make a sphere and move it about within a small space about the size of a basketball. It was still bad, but passable. His Hakuda was the saving grace. Although by no means above average, it was better than many. Komomaru was given a pass and put on track for the Second Division. Once more he protested but was ignored. The Second Division always needed more hands as the Fourth Division rarely dealt with anything past training wounds and had enough people.
Once he passed Shino Academy, Komomaru had acceptable Zanjutsu, above average control over his Reiryoku and just barely above average Hakuda. As expected, he was dropped right into the Second Division and given orders to train immediately. Deciding this would be where he had to make his stand, he refused, listing his desires as he protested, doing literally nothing but eating once every two days as well as drinking. Several things were tried but the Lieutenant, but unless Komomaru was transferred to the Medical Division, keeping in mind he didn't even know what Division that was, he would do nothing to harm another or prepare to harm another. Eventually this won out with the Captain at the time, who decided dead hands were bad hands and transferred him to the Fourth, the Captain figuring that other Divisions would know what kind of soldier they were getting and would be likely to refuse. And so began Komomaru's life as a soldier of the Fourth.
It was a slow life with very few instances of promotions, but Komomaru was content. He worked diligently for years, even training in things he would prefer not to otherwise. Simply following the orders of a Captain whose goal was to heal the wounded made him far more compliant. Slowly, surely, when options came, he found himself promoted. At first they didn't come that often, but as more positions above him opened, Komomaru saw himself rise higher and higher in the ranks until merely the Captain stayed above him. When his higher up finally retired, he was recommended as the replacement and accepted, even by the still employed Captain of the Second, the Captain of the division he had problems with long ago. Thus Komomaru became Captain of the Fourth Division, with strong Hakuda and fair Zanjutsu and as necessary, exceptional control over his Reiryoku. He still attempts to keep himself clean of violence when he can and even has others fight for him most of the time, just to keep his own hands and soul clean. This is more for a religious than dutiful stand point however, and as such always asks before hand, preferring happiness and teamwork to the screams of the battlefield.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ▬ ▬ SHIKAI ▬
- Shikai Incantation:
- "Thou art I and I art thou, Kyuseishu."
Release Appearance:
Description:
- Although a strictly support typing is exactly what Kyuseishu is, classifying it as such may seem a bit misleading. Many support zanpakuto offer defensive or offensive armaments that back up the user or offer some form of statistical control over either a single ally, the user, or the opponent exclusively, and even then usually with some damaging effects, Kyuseishu is unique in that it does virtually none of the above.
Kyuseishu is a "pure support" type zanpakuto, and consequently, perhaps the rarest form of zanpakuto to exist. Although, in technicalities, it does deal damage, this damage is entirely indirect and the zanpakuto's lack of restrictions on what it can and cannot buff is nearly unheard of. The only limitation is that it can only affect one person at a time, although stacking abilities on the same target is allowed, and often used. This makes Kyuseishu a true support type, offering empowerment with no drawbacks whatsoever to a single target, including even inanimate or artificial objects, allowing the likes of both Kido and even human made concrete to receive the blessings of Kyuseishu. However, both because of personal preference and the fact this zanpakuto is a true support, Komomaru prefers always visiting the Human World with a partner in case he must fight.
Abilities:
- Fukugen [Restoration]: A restoration technique that utilizes a burst heal to patch up moderate wounds. Lacerations, mild burns, and puncture wounds can, if they aren't too deep, be healed in a cooling green light. Although specifically designed to heal up any injuries that are classified as less than major, with repeated exposure [3 Consecutive Uses on the Same Target], Fukugen can even heal lightly damaged organs. However, this is not a technique to replace any First Aid techniques designed to be in the field. The true purpose of this technique is to drag on a fight between the target of Fukugen and their foe(s) to the point where the conflict must escalate, with Fukugen's affected keeping a higher amount of physical health than the opponent.[3 Post Cool Down]
Menkai [Visitation]: A movement based supporting technique, Menkai, this is one of the techniques that requires set up and is also one of the least supporting moves in this full on support set. Komomaru blesses the target with the gift of the wind, giving it a sizable, and if not expected, hard to control speed buff. This can work both ways, speeding up a knowing ally or forcing an unwitting opponent to overshoot. Buffing a source target, such as a zanpakuto or the body of a Shinigami, buffs everything coming from it. This means that if a zanpakuto is buffed, any attack made by the zanpakuto, a mere swing to a complicated technique, becomes faster. However, if the Shinigami is buffed, then everything they do regardless of what it is, so long as it moves any amount of distance, is sped up, even if the it comes from the zanpakuto. Consequently, this ability has a sort of "tree and branches" effect. Last up to [3] posts. [3 Post Cool Down]
Hono [Blaze]: Inciting the voices of rage, the target's body glowing dimly red and buffing their damage. This power buff is unique in that it doesn't buff a particular type of attack but can buff spiritual and physical techniques, even if they're already in flight to their destination. This makes this technique extremely powerful for ally use as it can strengthen blows otherwise too weak to make progress. Buffing a source target, such as a zanpakuto or the body of a Shinigami, buffs everything coming from it. This means that if a zanpakuto is buffed, any attack made by the zanpakuto, a mere swing to a complicated technique, becomes stronger. However, if the Shinigami is buffed, then everything they do regardless of what it is, so long as it inflicts damage upon an object, is strengthened, even if the attack comes from the zanpakuto. Consequently, this ability has a sort of "tree and branches" effect. Last up to [3] posts. [3 Post Cool Down]
Kansho [Meddling]: A defensive move and perhaps one of the most commonly used technique. This is the only technique in Komomaru's arsenal that not only lasts the shortest, but has no cool down either. This technique increases the defensive properties of a target greatly, allowing allies or important objects to withstand normally powerful blows, with consideration to whatever is being buffed of course. This ranges from walls to armor to weapons to shields to people. Though rarely used on an opponent, the wide range of possible targets this move has makes it dangerous to unsuspecting foes because of the lower amount of power they may put into a blow. Consequently, they may end up mildly injuring themselves on a suddenly harder surface. [Instant use, 2 Post Cool Down]
Kawasu [Exchange]: Another defensive technique, this one more risky and more of a last line of defense than a true supporting skill, this is still a support class technique due to its intended nature. Komomaru must mark a target beforehand through physical contact to use this technique in order to make it work, but the possible results are life saving in the right situations given Komomaru's medical skill. Once a target is marked, the mark lasts ten posts, and should Komomaru decide he needs to intervene, he may activate the mark, forcing a body swap between him and the marked target. Defensively, this means that a fatal blow to another could become a serious wound to Komomaru that he can treat while the battle continues. Conversely, on the offensive side, he can mark a foe and then, when an attack is incoming, he can force a body swap with the foe. This can also apply to inanimate objects. However, while applicable to Kido, this technique is virtually impossible to use with them if the projectile is fired from the opponent. Opponent's may destroy this mark of course, by merely ruining it via puncture or slashing wounds. Because of this, Komomuro usually attempts to put it where it's hard to notice. [5 Post Cool Down]
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ▬ ▬ BANKAI ▬
- Bankai Name:
- Shinjitsu
Bankai Incantation:
- With My Heart Open I Accept This, Shinjitsu
Release Appearance:
Description:
- Retaining the purpose of the Shikai, Komomaru's Bankai remains a true support. It continues onwards being able to affect anything as well. This allows the true ability of the zanpakuto as the ultimate utility to shine through. Consequently, fighting a target boosted by Komomaru becomes quite difficult, however, fighting Komomaru alone is much easier, as he must stop moving to apply any of his techniques. This is the one draw back of his Bankai, and one well worth it in his mind.
Abilities:
- Shido [Guidance]: Komomaru slams the bottom end of his staff onto the ground near his feet (Should he be in air, simply slamming it down to make it level also works) the rings at the top ringing loudly. As his staff connects with the ground, it generates a mark on a declared target. To declare a target for this technique, he must say their name physically, loudly, and audibly, so that both his target and their foe may here. An orb of light then emits from the target, extending from them in a 5m radius and lasts for [3] posts. Any techniques, kido, zanpakuto, or otherwise that do not rely solely on physical strength are negated so long as they are used within the orb. Techniques from zanpakuto, kido, or other reiryoku based techniques such as Cero that enter the orb from outside its range are weakened but continue. This has several notable drawbacks. The first is that it keeps Komomaru from cancelling the technique since the technique originates from within itself. As such it must run its full course before dispelling. Secondly, the marked target must be chosen carefully. Because the target is declared and forever inside the sphere, they find themselves unable to use any kind of Kido, Cero, or Zanpakuto technique. Lastly, the cool down on this technique is rather long, making uses far and few between. (7 Post Cool Down)
Ukeire [Acceptance] Komomaru verbally names a target, be it friend or foe or himself, this technique affecting but impossible to target inanimate objects. After declaring his target exactly like in Hantei, a bubble erupts from the declared target, throwing almost all other objects away as it expands outwards. This bubble only extends out 2m but is extremely tough, deflecting most heavy physical attacks, Kido, or zanpakuto abilities and all people, friend or foe trying to get in. However, the barrier only lasts a short time [Post of Use]. Inanimate objects and certain organic ones such as grass, concrete, soil, and trees simply have the shield phase through them as if they weren't there. However, as mentioned, it repels all incoming attacks and people, be they friendly or otherwise. [3 Post Cool Down]
Hantei [Judgement]:Planting the base of his zanpakuto onto the ground, this technique is a no-holds-barred area of effect high speed regeneration heal. As contact with ground, or where ground should be should he be in the air, is made by the staff, Komomaru's eyes open up, glowing a hot white color, the area in a 5m radius around him lighting up and sending a faint white light into the air for another 10m. Anything in this area, inanimate, heavily wounded, perfectly healthy, friend, foe, or neutral undergoes a rapid healing process. This technique produces such a powerful regeneration that most forms of damage short of nearly severing a limb wind up barely harming anything. While the regeneration of this move is on par with some of the most powerful Medical Kido, able to even regrow or reattach severed limbs, it cannot save someone who's heart or head has been nearly taken off, destroyed, or removed. All the same it is a very potent healing technique. In order to reattach a severed limb, one must be holding the limb to the proper location for 3 posts. To regrow a limb requires 5 posts of not moving while inside the area. These times start as soon as the limb is removed. It should be noted and reinforced that this heal does affect everything inside of it, friend, foe, neutral, including Komomaru himself, who must remain immobile to maintain this heal.
