Location: An abandoned warehouse in the human realm. Reclaimed by nature, grass is growing on the ground, weeds and beetles crawl about. Machines in disrepair lie about in disrepair on the ground in heaps.

❛I'm dedicated when something's worth dedicating to. Everything else falls by the wayside.❜ Ari sat in a moist patch of grass, his slacks getting muddy as he blew away the feathers on a wishing puff flower, his palm on his chin in boredom.
In his other hand, he flicked his zanpakto switchblade through and across his fingers skillfully releasing the , blade, then rolling it over the back of his hand, closing it, then repeating it.
It was good to spar with his lieutenant. It might not look like it, but he was aiming for Bankai.

 S н υxxxF ē n gxxxH ι r o ѕ н ι▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ [ lιeυтenanт oғ тнe ғoυrтн dιvιѕιon ] ▬ Shu sighed as she woke up at her personal quarters, as she looked up and noticed that today was the day she was going to administer an assessment on the newest addition to the Sigma Relief Squad. Shu sighed as she got up and began to get dressed. She had to take her time getting on her suit of armor, as she was never seen outside the barracks without it. Once done getting it on, Shu reached for her zanpakuto and clip it in place, as it rested on her back, as she simply left and proceeded over to the spot where Shu would give this new comer his test.
Once arriving, she noticed that he was casually sitting on the grass, as she then approached him. "So you must be the new guy, Ari Dackerd, correct?" Asking with a relaxed tone, she was curious to see just why her father decided to place this newbie over to her Relief Squad. Hopefully he had some promise for the division.

He looked up at her as she spoke, uninterested. He then flicked his eyes back down to the ground and continued to flip his switch blade along his hands.
"You wanna know why I chose this place?" he sighed softly and looked back up at her.
"It was the first place I ever got in a fight." Ari stood up and dusted himself off.
"So I guess you're here to train me. So uhh... where do we start?" He groaned and leaned off to his right side.

Admittedly, she thought he'd pick this place for another reason, though it was a good spot to train nevertheless. Sure getting the permits to go to the World of the Living was a real pain, but she was lucky enough to pull some strings with her father and Central 46 to get authorization for this all.
"This isn't training per se Ari." Smirking, Shu unsheathed her zanpakuto and got into a proper stance for a fight. "You were recently transferred over to my Relief Squad and I have no clue just what kind of skills you possess from a combat side of things, only from what I got by paper. I want you to show me just what you can do."
With that, Shu vanished using shunpu and appeared in front of Ari, as she swung her sword towards the man's head. She was slow with movement, as she had no intention in killing the man, but she wasn't going to make this assessment any easier on him because of ranks.

"Ah. Well then I guess that's better than nothing." He was itching his a** when she flash stepped in front of him. Surprising, nonetheless, but the swing of a conventional Katana takes more than twice the time of his Zanpakto, so it wasn't an impossible thing to dodge. As her sword swept to him, Ari ducked, a sneer grin spreading across his face as he pulled his switchblade zanpakto from his back pocket and flipped it open, revealing an incredibly small, but sharp blade. Because the knife weighed far less than her Zanpakto, he could attack her midswing, and because he had ducked, he was now within range where he could counter attack, using he r momentum against herself. He stepped foward, almost to the point where their chests touched, and brought the back knife up to her through, however it was the blunt end, so if it hit it would only knock the wind out of her, possibly crush her wind pipe, but nothing she couldn't heal.
Because she was in mid-swing, and because his weapon made him quicker in close combat, there was a very good chance this attack would land, seeing as she was in mid swing, he had stepped close to her body, and due to the speed of his weapon.
"Close combat is what I'm best at, you should have read my file a bit better before getting close to me."

She noticed that he was attempting to attack her from the side, as she smirked. Thankfully she was still grounded to the floor, as she merely used shunpu and dodged his attack, as she appeared behind him with her palm raised. "Hadō #31. Shakkahō!"
Firing off a red beam of energy towards the lieutenant, she was going to resume to hit him hard with attacks, as she had no intent on killing the man, but she needed to see the full extent of his skills, as she wasn't very comfortable with the prospect of not knowing what her men were truly capable of on the battlefield.
