I like home for Aged Characters because then it actually sounds like the place where all old book characters go to retire.

Shady Meadows Home for Aged Characters

Shady Meadows is an odd combination and its intriguing. Meadows seem to bring up some kind of scene out of Bambi with lush rolling hills and flowers....and well throw in shady and it kind of makes sound dreary.
Which helps allude to the facade of any kind of rest for theese fellows.

Home for Aged Characters: it sounds refined and fitting.

I like, your right it does make sense. I know funny is what some want to go with, but the aged, draws the attention of the older crowd as well and that is what we want.
