I think that's true to an extreme. As a generality, I've seen most people outside of Texas to be less approachable and generally more uptight than what I'm used to, but every time I leave state I go to a show, and it's always the same. It's like a club, and every town has a club house where you can go find other people that know you before they meet you.

Definently not. Music (and cats) connect people in ways you normally wouldnt go out of your way to be friends with. One of my current besties was started up by "OMG. You like Marylin Manson too?!" and it went from there. XD

I love metal, but personally, the culture surrounding metal bothers me. Honestly, the metal subculture seems just as conformist and dogmatic as with top 40 pop music fans.
