Location: ~ Dorm room ~ Maria during the summer sadly never got a chance to see Lydia. She did however make it to around Goldenrod City where Briana and Sophie live. That’s where she caught herself a Ditto. As cute as he was he was with her because she narrowed down her life to wanting to be a breeder. Whether that dream would become a reality was beyond her or her pokemon but Maria didn’t care. Maria didn’t care about anything all summer. If her mother hadn’t kicked her out of the house to hang with Silvano she wouldn’t have left her room. In fact Maria had been curled up in a ball in her room pretty much all summer. It was as if the crying the day Keldeo left wasn’t enough. She had cried and cried for the majority of the summer and just when she thought she couldn’t cry anymore she would as if to prove herself wrong. When Maria arrived at the Adell she took the ferry over to the academy with Silvano who was also attending the academy yet again this year. As soon as it docked she took off to her dorm leaving Silvano to figure out where she had gone off too. Not bothering with anyone and certainly not talking to anyone Maria hurried off to her dorm and disappeared into it. Unlike everyone else who was searching for friends and talking to them she was in her room on the bed closest to the window. Face buried in a pillow as she cried into it. Growlithe emerged from his pokeball and curled up next to her which resulted in him being the next pillow. He allowed her to cry her heart out again and prayed that someone would come and snap his trainer out of it. Team: Dewgong (M) - Lv. 44, Growlithe (M) - Lv. 40, Ditto - Lv. 20

Lydia opened her dorm room door carefully. It looked pretty empty, except for the luggage that had been hauled up and left in the middle of the room. Actually, the dorms looked bigger than she remembered! That was enough to make her giddy. Three small bedrooms, a small kitchen, a bathroom, and a small den-area. It felt a little more comfortable than before. "Looks like I'm the first one here," She said, peering around. That gave her the chance to call one of the rooms with a window! She grabbed her luggage, picking the first one she saw. "Blaze, Paras, Marvin! Let's get our room set up!" She called out her team of tiny helpers.
All were young and still at their first stage of evolution. Like Gavin--and a lot of other trainers she looked up to--she decided to start fresh with a new team. She couldn't keep relying on Crash as her trump card. Team rocket taught her that lesson... "After we get everything put away, we can go strait to get some lunch, okay?" Her team of tinies cheered. "But after we eat, we have an important mission! We're catching a snivy! Or a bulbasaur! Today might be our only chance, so let's not waste time!" The team agreed. It was odd. A team of such different personalities, they seemed to get along. For now.
"Well, glad to see this isn't gonna be as hard as I thought," She smiled, a little worried on why it was so easy for them to get along. That's when she heard it: crying. "Huh?" Lydia looked back, leaving to investigate. 'I thought I was the first one here...' She followed the sound to another bedroom. "Maria?" She blinked, seeing a growlith being burried under brown hair.

Location: ~ Dorm room ~ Maria hadn't heard anything but Growlithe sure did. Beneath his trainer the fire pokemon could hear a familiar voice. 'Lydia.' he thought. This was probably the best possible outcome. She was good friends with Maria maybe she could help cheer her up. Arceus knows that he and the rest of her pokemon weren't helping one bit. They tried everything and nothing was working. As Lydia come to investigate Growlithe attempted to poke his head out from underneath Maria. "Grow." (Help.) he whimpered sadly. He hated seeming her like this and it was beginning to affect him. Hearing her name Maria attempted rather poorly to wipe her tears away. Sniffling she released Growlithe and turned her attention to the doorway. "Lydia..." Maria replied in the saddest tone that her friend had probably ever heard. "How have you been?" she asked still wiping stray tears away. Growlithe looked from Maria to Lydia. Setting his gaze on Lydia he began whining before hopping off the bed and digging into Maria's things. Pulling out a picture frame that held the same picture from last year of Maria and Keldeo he walked it over to Lydia and set it at her feet. Nudging it with his nose he looked back up at her. Growlithe hoped this would be enough to tell her that Maria was not alright. Team: Dewgong (M) - Lv. 44, Growlithe (M) - Lv. 40, Ditto - Lv. 20

Lydia was a little confused and upset herself, seeing Maria like that. "Me? I'm fine," She said, trying to get past small talk quickly. "What about you? What happened? What's wrong?" She felt a nudge from growlith as she spoke, and looked down to see what it wanted. A photo? Keldeo... It was still hard to think back, when they said their goodbyes after bonding so closely. But they didn't have much of a choice, right? Lydia had kept her promise since then, looking up at the sky every day, wondering how her friend, her not-so-little-anymore rayquaza was doing. Though, it still took her a while to realize that was the reason Maria was upset. "Oh..." She said. "But, Maria... you made a promise to Keldeo that you two would see each other, right? I don't think Keldeo would be too happy seeing you like this. And I know your pokemon are really upset too." She tried to reason, or at least get her attention better. "That's what I say to myself every day... Because... If I don't give it my all, then I've let Rayquaza down. Whether or not its here, I'm still in charge of protecting it! So I have to keep getting better and stronger!" *crash!* Something was already going wrong in her room. She'd left three pokemon together alone, who'd never really worked together before. It really was only a matter of time before something had to happen.

Location: ~ Dorm room ~ “I’d say I’m fine but you know I’m not.” Maria told Lydia honestly. She couldn’t lie it was too easy to tell she was feeling the pain from having to say goodbye. Growlithe was grateful that Lydia figured it out. With that realization he carried the photo over to Maria. As she listened to her friend she took the photo of her legendary friend. “Yeah I did promise.” She answered her. When Lydia told her that her pokemon weren’t happy she looked to Growlithe. The puppy pokemon nodded to Lydia’s statement. Maria was beginning to realize that Lydia was right. Her pokemon were depressed because she was. Maybe she just needed a distraction to get past it all. “I’m sorry Growlithe.” She apologized to her pokemon. Growlithe nodded his head in acknowledgment. “You’re right Lydia. I guess I’ve just been taking it really hard these past few months.” She explained. Before Maria could go on she heard a crash. “What was that?” she asked Lydia. Growlithe quickly dashed off to go investigate. Team: Dewgong (M) - Lv. 44, Growlithe (M) - Lv. 40, Ditto - Lv. 20

"Aw, man..." Lydia groaned, seeming defeated already. She hurried to follow growlith back to her own chosen room, and came onto an unspeakable scene. Her under-garments were scattered around! Her luggage had toppled over! Paras was dizzy, probably caught in the crash and was now stumbling around, and Blaze and Marvin were arguing about who's fault it was. "Hey! You guys! Knock it off!" Lydia scolded. But both of them seemed to ignore her. Each one readied up an attack! Now everything would either freeze o be burnt to bits! And Paras was caught in between. Though, even her docile little bug had its limit. Parrrrrrrrraaaaaasssss! It cried out in frustration, and let a sweep of fury cutters at both of his teammates to settle them down. Victorious, it held its caws high, Paras! Paras paras!.
Lydia's face went blank in shock. "I guess that works." Her face was flushed, all her unmentionables were just out in plain sight. What was more embarrassing was that Maria was there. So far, no one seemed to notice that Lydia had physically matured a bit more, and she'd rather keep it that way. "Let's... get this cleaned up..." She sighed, fixing up the room and making her bed.
After all was said and done, she finally took the moment to make introductions to her friend. "Maria, I want you to meet my new team," She smiled. "This little guy is Paras," The bug type cheered. "And that's Marvin over there," The cubchoo tried to seem cute and appealing. "And you already met Blaze," Lydia laughed while the magby jumped up happily. "Guys, this is Maria. She's a friend of mine and it looks like we'll be roommates from here on out until the end of the year."

Location: ~ Dorm room ~ Maria watched as both Growlithe and Lydia rushed to her room. Putting the picture down on the bedside table she got off her bed and headed out of her room. Going over to Lydia’s Maria noticed a Paras, and Cubchoo as well as Blaze from last year. They seemed to be in an argument over who had knocked over her luggage. Growlithe and Maria watched in shock as the Paras hit both its teammates ending the argument entirely. “Well that’s interesting…” Maria said in shock. She was glad all her pokemon excluding Growlithe and Anorith got along. “Need some help?” she asked before getting to working helping out her friend. “Cute pokemon.” she said as they were introduced. “It’s very nice to meet you two and it’s great to see you again Blaze.” Maria said with a smile. It was as if the scene from earlier had never happened. “Grow.” (Hello.) Growlithe said to the other pokemon as he sat next to Maria. That’s when Maria remembered that Lydia hadn’t met one of her pokemon yet. “That’s reminds me. Ditto come on out.” She said taking his pokeball and releasing the pink blob. “Ditto?” (Uh?) he questioned as he appeared in front of the many pokemon in the room. Before she could explain Dewgong had decided to invite himself. “Dewgong!” (Hello new friends!) he cried out happily. “Lydia you remember Growlithe and Dewgong.” she said before picking up Ditto. “This is my new teammate Ditto. Ditto this is Lydia and all her pokemon.” Maria introduced. The Ditto put on a big smile. “Ditto!" (Hiya!) he said happily waving to her with his blob like hands. Not that you could really call them that. Team: Dewgong (M) - Lv. 44, Growlithe (M) - Lv. 40, Ditto - Lv. 20

Lydia's eyes widened, and her jaw dropped as soon as ditto was let out. "No way! That's so cool that you caught a ditto! You're so lucky!" She wriggled and squirmed, envious of her friend. "The last time I tried to catch a ditto, it transformed and took off, and I couldn't find it again! And I haven't found one since..." Only Paras was a comfort to Lydia. The others were far more interested in meeting the bigger pokemon. "You already know how I caught Blaze. Marvin was rayquaza's first ever battle! And that's how I caught him. But Paras here," She picked up the bug type. "Paras was frozen solid my first year at the academy. So I thawed him out and he wanted to stick around." Paras paras! The small pokemon seemed happy to be close with its trainer.
"I decided on a whole new team this year. Last year I didn't get the chance to train Paras at all. Crash has always been my strongest pokemon, but Mia said I need to balance out my team for future challenges," She explained, just in case curiosity set in. "The saying in Cerulean City is to never leave home without a water type, but we're on a lake, so I figured we can just catch one here at school--" She stopped a moment. "I completely forgot! We were gonna go into the woods to try and catch one of those rare grass types!" Her voice went squeaky, seeming shocked at her own clumsiness.

Location: ~ Dorm room ~ Maria smiled. "He was a challenge that's for sure right buddy?" she said looking to the pink blob pokemon. "Dit." (Yeah.) he agreed. "I'm sure you'll get a change some day." she told her. It was the luck of the draw that Maria even had her Ditto. "I can see why." she said smiling at the seemingly happy bug type. Ditto seeing Paras decided to transform into a look alike. Maria just shook her head. "I hear you I would have brought some of my other pokemon but Dewgong and Growlithe wouldn't hear it." Maria replied. There were a number of pokemon that needed her attention but they wanted her to keep them with her. Sadly she couldn't say no to a pokemon and the others seemed happy to be with Maria's mom. "That sure is a nice saying." she said before Lydia mentioned something about catching grass types. "Hey don't worry there's still loads of time. We could go together." Maria said. The thought of catching a grass type seemed nice. She had actually never caught one it would be a new experience for her. Team: Dewgong (M) - Lv. 44, Growlithe (M) - Lv. 40, Ditto - Lv. 20

Lydia calmed and smiled at her friend's suggestion. It seemed like they balanced each other well, bringing the other back when they got a little out of hand. "Ya. Sounds great!" She smiled before her stomach growled out. "But maybe Lunch should come first. I know I just had some rice-balls somewhere..." She retraced her steps, searching around for the snacks she'd packed earlier before leaving the boat into Partright City.
Paras was set down, and went to investigate the copy. Touching it and having it touch back, Paras was a little shocked and afraid. Paaaaaarrrr aaaaas! It fretted and jumped about. It wasn't sure how to handle a copy. Not even a plush toy look alike.
"Here they are!" She brought up a box and opened to expose the rice balls tucked neatly inside. Each one had a little fruit stuffed in them; something to make them a little bit sweet. "I like the plum ones! Here, take a few. I made a whole bunch to pass the time on the boat." She smiled, letting her friend and the pokemon take their share. "Oh ya, don't we have that assembly today? We'll head out to try and catch those grass types just as soon as that's over! We're already settled in, kind of, so we don't need to worry about that! We'll have plenty of time! And I'm gonna catch a whole lot of pokemon this year! I still have all those things Miri's pick up found last year." She fashed a victory V with her fingers.

Location: ~ Dorm room ~ When Maria heard Lydia's stomach growl it just made her think of her own. "That reminds me I haven't ate anything today." she told her honestly. She'd been so down right depressed that she hadn't touched anything even when her friend tried to get her to. She'd make a mental note to apologize to him for being such a pain over the summer. Maria sat down Ditto next to Paras and the two had at the fun. He just kept copying everything the bug type did. After it scared the poor pokemon to death he transformed again only to a Spinarak. "Spinarak." (Don't be scared.) Ditto spoke trying to calm Paras down. "Thanks Lydia." Maria said happily. Taking a couple and chowing down she was impressed. Truth is she'd never had her friends cooking. "These are really good." she told her. Dewgong, Growlithe, and Ditto tried it too all three seemed impressed with it. With mention of the assembly Maria thought about it. "Yeah we should probably head down to the auditorium soon." she said laughing at her friends V for victory. "Now Miri was a handy pokemon to have around." she added. Miri was able to find everything and anything sure saves you have to pay for it. "So did you pick any optional classes this year?" Maria asked curiously. She'd taken a couple although she wished she hadn't secretly. It would have given her more time to catch pokemon. Then again it would have given her more time to also think of Keldeo and how he wasn't with her. Team: Dewgong (M) - Lv. 44, Growlithe (M) - Lv. 40, -> Ditto - Lv. 20

Lydia laughed a moment. Maria was really impressed with rice balls? "Actually, I'm not very good at cooking. But I picked up a few easy things while I was home. Mom said it's important that I know this stuff for when I go on a real journey and enter into pokemon tournaments." She was still flattered that her friend and the pokemon liked the treats well enough, and felt proud of herself for it.
"Extra classes?" Lydia repeated. She thought hard to remember her paperwork before coming back. "I don't think so. Not this year anyway. Miss Lyon and Mister Reyes still kinda scare me, and those would be the classes I'd take otherwise. So I think I'm gonna focus on my studying and training for now," She smiled to her friend, looking at the time. "We should probably get going to the assembly hall." She groaned as she got up, and reached down to pull up her friend. "Let's promise to help each other get a lot stronger this year, and do our best!

Location: ~ Dorm room ~ Maria knew a thing or two about cooking when it came to pokemon food after that it was downhill, not that she couldn't cook... "I guess it would be unless you plan on starving." she said with a smile. "Yeah," Maria said nodding. 'Why didn't I avoid extras...?' she thought. Well it didn't really matter like they would actually add to her stress level any... chances were not really. "You're probably right." Maria said as Lydia pulled her up. "Yeah it's a promise." she agreed happily. This year would be the best she just knew it. All they had to do was get through the welcome back assembly. That should be fun. Lydia Cross {Dream series Y3 (1)} Lydia pushed open the doors of the castle. The storm had ravaged the lands, and flood was inevitable. But she was not supposed to be there. A girl of no significance, entering the palace with noble lords, alone. She could very well be cut down for her trespassing. And all at once, the arguing of the room fell silent with the opening of those doors. Lydia was afraid, but there had to be something done. Something was not right. She didn't remember what it was, only knowing the sensation of being pulled to commit this crime onto herself--that it was necessary. She stood still for the longest time, and then finally took that first step, then another. The bickering began again, towards her; nobles seeming outraged that a low-born walked, feet coated in mud, into their hall. And she wanted to run away. But something kept her moving forward--towards danger: towards the king and his trusted Hands beside him.
'I know that I don't have wealth,' She reminded herself with a new step. 'I don't have a proud name.' Another step. 'I don't have a kingdom.' Step. 'I don't have magic.' Step. 'i don't even have any knowledge to help me when I really need it. I don't have any power, any gifts.' She came to the first stair of the tiny steps before the throne, and the king himself. 'I don't even have courage...' She lifted herself for the second step. 'I don't have any power at all!' Another step. 'And I don't have a voice to tell you any of this...' She stepped again, and with one final thought, she began to look up from the ground. 'I only have hope. Hope that you might still hear me... That you might still love me... Please...' She looked past the King, who stood ofended, and to one of the lords behind him. 'Please hear me! I can't speak, but I want you to hear me as I walk. Please!'
And she saw his eyes, narrow and steely. The same as they were some time ago, when she felt a different sensation. The sort of feeling everyone hopes for, that everyone fears, and that everyone welcomes when they find it. 'He remembers me!' Tears rolled like rivers from her eyes. 'Do you remember, what you said to me? After we flew on the back of pokemon, and after you lifted me closer to heaven? I will never forget those words... Even after ten thousand years have passed, I will never forget those words...' A sword was drawn from one of the Hands standing beside the king.
