So I've been working on some things, and tossing around ideas that I've had for a while.
The first idea is colored lines. Working on examples for another shop I'm applying to work at, I realized I don't hate colored lines as much as I thought I did. I thought they were tacky... but, especially with working on the MLP event here, I realize they not only look fantastic, but seem to fit the theme of TCB perfectly. I mean, these are /coloring/ pets. Crayons. Markers. Pencils. Oil Pastels. Colored lines just /fits/. But I realize that not everyone will agree, and some might still find it tacky. So, this is my question for you guys: Should we switch colored lines to default, or keep black as default? Either way, when getting a custom if the colorist give the option you may get either black or colored lines. heart
Now, the second idea is about the bevel layer. Thats the layer that gives extra shading and adds highlights, albeit bulky. With adding colored lines, these bevel layers will become a pain and a half. They're black and white, and coloring them to match colored shading (with the lines) is too much to ask of any colorist. I certainly don't like it myself. And, when switching the views, the pets seem a lot more pretty to me now without than with. I added the bevel as a final attempt to be satisfied with my art, as I have a hard time not hating my templates. But, again, the layer seems way too much and just... ick now. But but, again again, I want to ask what yall think. No matter what is voted on the lines, should I get rid of the layer? And no, cleaning it up isn't an option. XD heart
So, guys, do me a favor and leave me your thoughts. Thank you!!!
EDIT:
black with bevel // black without bevel // colored with bevel // colored without bevel

EDIT EDIT:
