Arriving in from the Battle Arena, Athena had spent the morning sitting up in the bleachers watching the entire gym class. She wanted to see what this new gym teacher was up to, seeing as how she'd caught the redhead out trapping those Wild Pokémon just the other day. Infact, Athena had even volunteered to help with the trapping once Miss Heart explained why she was doing it in the first place. Personally? Athena Lyon approved full-heartedly of Lyra Heart's teachings, even if it did send a few of the students to the infirmary. More importantly, she was there to see just how well her own students handled the sudden circumstances, and she admitted she was definitely impressed with some of their performances.
Fortunately for her Advanced Battle Tactics students, she got to sleep last night, so she was in much better mood that day. Though... Athena Lyon in a good mood was also a scary sight to some people. She came into the empty classroom carrying a stack of papers. Papers!? Of course, Gengar, Meganium, and Crawdaunt were outside of their Pokeballs, ready for the classes that day. Misses Lyon plopped the papers down onto her desk, a few of them scattering about, which Meganium caught with his vines. ”Alright you three, y'all ready for class today?” Geeennnn-gaaarrr! Megaaaaaanium! 'Daunt. They all agreed. What on earth, was going to happen today?
Lél arrived right on time, punctual as usual. But he had more of a reason for being on time now: this was one of the classes he'd come here for! To this place that was so hot and far from his beautiful, wild Hungary. He had one goal: to get better and stronger. They generally went hand in hand. Hungary had few trainers, nothing in the way of gyms and teachers. The trip here was expensive, and the stay was frustrating. The only thing making up for it were classes like this one. He came in, half leaning against his ponyta and not in his best shape. But he wasn't about to miss the very reason he came here! He remained silent and stern, looking at each of the pokemon already in the room. The one with a flower was easy to guess. The lobster-like one he had a hunch about. But the last... He never saw it before. Still, this was the same teacher from yesterday with a bad attitude. It was probably best to stay out of her way and keep quiet until he as directed otherwise. If luck held out, she wouldn't bug him about how he smelled of the cigarettes he smoked only moments ago.
Vern walked into class, ready for Misses Lyon. He'd definitely made sure to stud y the previous night, since she had told them that memorizing the type match-up chart -ultimately including everything else that was included in the side bar involving status ailments and whatnot. It wasn't exactly a difficult thing for him to learn, seeing as how he more or less knew the good majority of it. Though, admittedly, learning a lot of the resistances was a bit of a pain, since most trainers -including Vern- really only paid attention to what was super effective and what was immune to what. Overall, studying the previous night hadn't been too difficult, just tedious.
From the looks of it, Lel and a couple of other students (NPCs) had already arrived; the class was by no means about to start for another good few minutes. If anything, Vern was early to class! He saw the teacher at her desk, three of her Pokémon out, and he bowed a greeting to her, but remained silent just incase she was still in the bad mood from earlier. She nodded an acknowledging response; otherwise said nothing as he took his seat in the middle of the classroom. What was that stack of papers for!?
Iris with Kur in tow, ran to the class in order not to be late. With her change in clothes, she would not be first one there since she had to go change into her uniform since she was sure that being in her gym clothes would not be wise at all. With Kur saying that she owed him a dinner, she gladly agreed it. It was better she owed him a meal and he owing Athena detention for being late. And this was Advance so she could only imagine how much tougher she would be to the students.
That idea excited her as she walked into the room. She could already see Athena there, in a better mood, with Vern and Lel there in class. Iris smiled as she let go of Kur and hugged Athena in her excitement. Once she realized what she was doing, Iris released Athena and then bowed. "I can't wait for class today sensei." she said, taking her seat next to Vern. "Hey there." she said, hugging Vern into her chest. "How are you? Are you excited for class because I know that i'm totally excited for class. So are ya...are ya?"
Athena watched silently as student after student came in. For the most part, she recognized most of their faces from the year before. Mister Odon was the first arrived, albeit exhausted from gym earlier, which wasn't surprising since she'd witness him get hit with a pretty strong stunspore. ”Morning Mister Odon.” She greeted. He smelled of cigarettes, but to be honest Athena didn't give a four-letter word if her student chose to kill his lungs. So long as he didn't do it in her class, it was alright. A few more entered, taking their seats quietly. Then of course, when Iris came in, she had to come up and give her favorite teacher a hug, despite what happened yesterday. A bit awkwardly, Athena took the hug. "Godmorgen (good morning), to you too Miss Haruno." A few more students came in, filling up -for the most part- the seats she had for the class.
Now, with enough students having entered, and the bell just now ringing, she stood up from her desk. "Good morning class!"She smiled at them, clearly in a much better mood... But still just as cruel. "If you recall from yesterday, I made it quite clear the material that I required you all to already know upon starting this course. That, and your Year ranking, are the only prerequisites to this class. So, in order to make sure that you do infact know the material... Pop Quiz! Don't worry, after you hand it in, we'll start the day's lesson discussing Support moves and the uses of other non-damaging attacks. It'll be our main center of focus for this first semester. Come the second semester, we'll be covering a multitude of battling styles, more specifically: Rotation and Triple Battles. For those of you here expecting to get stronger, don't worry, you will." She caught a few confused faces, like she had horns sticking out her head or something. Which was probably true, but still. Walking around the classroom, she placed one of the papers face-down on every desk, even the empty ones. "Battling isn't always about sheer strength... Though it does definitely help. But! Enough about that, before you is a twenty-question quiz pertaining to the material that was on the type match-ups chart in class yesterday, as well as the little sidebar about status ailments. There are also two bonus questions. If you fail this quiz, you will be spending detention with me for every class that you still do not know the material. The failing percentage shouldn't be of concern to you though, because I expect you all to do just fine, if you studied accordingly." Oh great, a pop quiz. Second day of Athena Lyon's class, and already they were being tortured some more!
"When you're done, place the quiz onto my desk to hand it in, and wait quietly at your desk until I give further instructions."

Iris grinned when Athena didn't scold her to hugging the woman as she took her seat. Iris started to pay attention once the bell rung. She smiled when she was told that they were having a pop quiz. She wanted to show Athena how much she learned from the woman and how much she listened to her as well. Meanwhile, she didn't share the same excitement of the class. She was ever more excited to hear about class was about today. Hearing non damaging and support moves, she thought of Ellie.
Iris sat on the edge of her seat, looked at the woman with wide eyes and an excited mind. Once she was give her test, she was off, answering the questions. Her determination was so visible and physical, she swore that flames were appearing from around. She went through question after question. She only tilted her head at the first Bonus Question. She didn't know she would be drawing in class. She didn't have the colorful pens to use.
Finally she was done as she handed in her paper and bowed before sitting back down.

E-Class | Trainer | Party Leader ▪▫ Hopkins | Pokedex ▪▫ Updated | Pokeballs ▪▫ 3| Water Stone ▪▫ Ready | Theme: Do you ••• After being dragged off by his oh so loved Macaroni and pasta salad, Kur so sadly entered class with a cloud over his head. Stomach partially growling, and the sight of the teacher just made it partially better.'' Do I attend a school of perfect females..? Why am I like the only other guy here.. Around, all of these beautiful women.. '' He murmured upon entry and walking up to the teacher, his head bowing respectfully as he went on to look for a seat. He was honestly confused as to why their were so many. Something he had never really been accustomed to. It took a moment, but he found a cozy spot in the back rows of the class. He had begun to mind his own business, and yawn slightly. Looking up as the teacher began to speak, he had stretched and placed his elbow onto his desk; his hand of the same said arm being used as a post for his chin.'' Ah crud... This is my first day in this class, I didnt get to come last time.. Eh, I'm smart, I can pull it off... Hopefu-fully..'' Thought Kur, as he looked towards the teacher, her hand placing a paper face down on his desk. When she stated battling isn't always about strength, he would only smirk and chuckle lowly to himself.'' Isn't that the truth, just earlier strength wasn't what brought victory to a rampaging mob of pokemon. Well not all at least..'' Looking at the paper whilst thinking, Kur sighed and lifted it up to see the first question.. What two types are ghost pokemon immune to? His mind flashed quickly towards Kins, and it held his thoughts for a moment.'' Hm.. Shouldn't be too hard...'' Picking up his pencil from his bag, he would yawn and get started. Reading through the questions he started to smile, for it seemed to relate to his style of pokemon and also what he already had.. Thinking of Kins, his Sableye he had already known some of these questions right off the bat; yet the others were from his reading prior to class due to the last time he could not exactly attend. So what else could he have done in his free time? Kur finished up on the questions and walked up, just a moment after Iris and placed his paper down on top of hers. Looking at the teacher, he shyly bowed and gave a playful smirk before returning to his seat to wait.

Vern blinked. Pop Quiz? Seriously? Wow, it was good thing that he’d done what he was supposed to do, and study! Granted, it really wasn’t that difficult, but he understood the need for the teacher to have to give an assessment. Iris bugged him about being excited for class or not, but out of fear of his teacher he remained quiet and didn’t answer her.
The quiz was placed in front of him, and as soon as they got the all-clear, he begun to work on it. First his name… ”Vern… Keliikoa~” He wrote out his name in perfect cursive, dotting the “I’s” with a single larger heart. ”Ghost Pokémon… Oh! That’s easy!” He was quick to write down his response. What type is immune to ghost? Pretty easy continuation. ”Steel? Uh… Oh! That’s right! I remember now! Wait a second, immune to Steel!? There aren’t any Pokémon immune to steel-types! This is a trick question!” Okay. Third question was on Psychic-types, easy enough! How can they be remembered… What. Memorization? ”No, no, no, there was definitely a pattern to the weaknesses that Psychic-types possessed, but… How could they be remembered? Let’s see… Ghost types… Bug types… Dark types… If it’s on the quiz, there must be a special connection between them.” He thought about how he was scared of the dark –or more specifically, the night-, figuring it was a pretty common phobia, especially amongst younger people. Bugs were also something that people were scared of, though most people were scared of spiders specifically, for his purposes they were going to be the same thing. And then there were ghosts, yet another common phobia amongst people. Aha! Lifting up his pen, Vern scribbled down his response. The pros and cons of Normal types? Were there any? No, that wasn’t true, they definitely had some advantages as well as several disadvantages. ”Well, for starters, normal types are immune to ghost types in battle, that was part of a previous question. Everybody knows that Fighting types are super-effective against normal-types, and they’re no resistant to anything. Now, considering this is prerequisite material, she’s probably expecting more than just that. What resists normal types? Let’s see… Definitely Steel types… oh! And Rock! Right! I remember, Vilna once went up against a Dunsparce and it tried using Swift against him…” He also knew through prior battle experiences, that normal types were also capable of learning a wide variety of attacks, and made a quick note about that just so he could give a more full answer. Poison types negate what entry hazard upon contact? Ha! This quiz was too easy! Toxic Spikes! It was practically Spike’s signature attack, of course Vern was going to know this! ”The pros and cons of… Grass types? Uh okay. Well they’re strong against water, ground, and rock types. They aren’t strong against Steel, other grass types… Uh… Poison sounds right… Flying… Fire… I think that’s it…” Vern knew in his gut, that he was forgetting something from the list, but what? Oh well, he was going to just move on. The instructions said there were bonus questions, right? ”They’re also resistant to electric types, other grass types, water, and uh… oh ground! And they’re weak against a lot: fire, ice, bug, poison, and flying types.” He could only hope, that his response was correct. There was definitely something he was forgetting, but he didn’t want to linger for too long on it. What two types are steel type pokemon not resistant to? Seriously? Okay Vern, this is easy, they’re resistant to practically everything. ”Um… Fire, ground, and… Water!” Yet again, he knew he was missing something, but what? Immune to entry hazards, except Stealth Rock… Another easy one! He jotted down another one-word answer. Now onto fire-types and burns, could they receive burns? No way! ”I’ve got three fire-types, this part is like cake!” Why not? Vern wrote down his answer, making sure to write in complete sentences for it, and answering the follow up portion. When it came to fire-types, Vern was a pro! Question ten! Rock types were definitely good against bugs, flying, fire, and ice. Once again, Vern had two of them, he better Arceus-damn well know what his own Pokémon were good against! They were resistant to normal types –as mentioned in a previous question- flying, and poison. What were they weak against? Easy! Water, Grass, Fighting, Steel, and Ground! They were resisted by um… Fighting, Ground, and of course Steel. Everything was resisted by steel! What were dark types…? Oh, dark and ghosties. Psychic types don’t do any good against them. Resistant to dragon…? Steel! All else fails, the answer’s Steel! Ice’s defensive properties? They had defensive skills? Oh right, other ice types. Psht, like that did any good. They were weak to fire types, fighting, rock, and… Steel! Electric types… Ha! That was easy! Vern scribbled some more in his cursive, writing frantically down the answer. ”Water type’s offensive capabilities? Wow um… They’re super effective against fire, ground, and rock. They’re resisted by… Dragon, Grass, other water types and oh uh… Steel!” Then Vern remembered a previous question, just as soon as he’d written that last part down. Quickly, he erased that last portion. ”Crap! This really isn’t that hard of a quiz! Just lengthy…” Now, for somebody who didn’t study, this was probably going to kill their brain, but there was a reason why Vern was a straight-A student. Wait… Do not have a resistance to them? ”Ummmm…. A lot.” He thought stupidly, blinking at his paper with an unfortunately blank look. ”Ummmm… Fire, Ground, rock… Steel!” Once again, the rule seemed to apply. ”Poison… Normal… Ice… UM. My mind is blaaaaaaaaaaank.” Okay, so that was now three questions that Vern wasn’t feeling so comfortable about. No biggie, right? Question sixteen! What type combination had no weaknesses in battle? What were they immune to? What were those Pokémon? Oh! That was easy! If memory served, Leonardo’s friend, Ghostie, happened to have them… What were they called again? Oh right! Vern jotted down in his cursive hand-writting, the answer. What types were weak to bug? Oh! That was easy! Is anything immune to…? Trick question! What type was ground…? Vern wrote down yet another one-word response. The next question was easy too. Four times damage to Stealth Rock? Okay, that was a rock-type entry hazard. What known combinations had a four times super-weakness to rock? Vern raked his brain for that last question. ”Let’s see, what is Rock good against?” He looked back at his previous answers to help him with that. Damn! Really, as long as you studied or already had the chart memorized, this was pretty easy! A lot of these questions just built off of each other! Nearby, he could hear some moans and groans of students who probably didn’t study, and admittedly Vern felt pretty bad for them, even if they were at fault. The combinations were soon to come to him, and he wrote them down.
Okay, bonus questions time! ”Okay, there’s math, physics don’t fail me- WHAT. Draw a DINOSAUR!?” Vern quite literally, burst out laughing at that. He looked up at Mrs. Lyon, who was eyeing him suspiciously. ”Are you serious?””Why wouldn’t I? If you want five extra points draw me a damn dinosaur!” Still laughing, he just nodded, not surprised that the teacher knew exactly what he’d been asking about. Okay, so maybe Mrs. Lyon wasn’t so bad after all! Sticking his tongue out a little as he concentrated on his “masterpiece”, Vern drew, to the best of his abilities, a Cranidos/T-Rex wearing what was supposed to be glasses and holding a black banana… Or was that supposed to be the pen? Welp, hopefully she was grading on artistic abilities, knowing how terrible of an artist Vern Keliikoa was. Final question! Vern’s eyes read over the words quietly, taking them in. ”More about zero weaknesses, huh? I think Ghostie had one of those things too… Let’s see, I remember he showed me once when he and Leonardo were over, about how some people counter it…” A smirk crossed his face, nearby. He could hear Iris snort, along with several other giggles and chuckles. It was pretty obvious, where they were on the quiz. Scribbling in the last few words of the final question, Vern lifted his pencil in victory and set it down beside him. Done!
Feeling quite proud of himself, Vern got up and placed it onto the pile after Kur and Iris. So far, class hadn’t been too bad. On the other side of the classroom, Mrs. Lyon was busy getting some stuff out for class, Meganium using his vines to help out. Whatever were they doing?
Once the last of her students had handed in the final "quiz", she cleared her throat. "Now, I do apologize for giving you a written assessment on the second day of class. But it's to make sure you're where you need to be upon arrival, and adjust the curriculum accordingly if need be. That aside, it shouldn't have been too hard, and we'll get today's lesson now." She motioned for Meganium, Gengar, and Crawdaunt to join her at the front of the class again. "As I mentioned earlier, we'll begin discussion on supportive attacks. Now, there's a huge variety of these kinds of attacks, and I'm sure you're all familiar with the common ones like Protect, Helping Hand, and even attacks such as Light Screen and Reflect. A lot of trainers think that battling is all about strength, that so long as you're the higher level, that's all that'll matter. Admittedly, that is pretty true. By no means am I say a level thirty cottonee is going to be able to successfully take on say my Crawdaunt here. Because that just won't work out." She pointed towards the water-dark type. Crawdaunt! She said, snapping her claws. ”I am, however, trying to save that my Crawdaunt here could potentially win a match against somebody who has an advantage over him! Sometimes, you just simply don't have a Pokémon with you that's able to do supereffective damage against your opponent's, and that's fine. Sucks, but it's fine. One of the reasons why I included so many questions about resistances on the quiz, one to make sure you actually knew the material, but two, to also prepare you other kinds of battling. Resistances to anything can and will be useful.” At this, Meganium and Crawdaunt got into sparring stances. "As you all are aware of, or should be at least, Meganium here has the upper-hand based solely on type match-ups. We're going to assume for the purposes of the lesson, that Crawdaunt here does not know anything supereffective against Meganium." In reality, she knew X-Scissor, but again, that defeated the point of the lesson. "Crawdaunt, use Swords Dance, then follow it up with Crunch." She did as instructed, her claws glowing and sharpening, quadrupling her attack power. Crawdaunt crunched down onto the male grass-type, dealing to him a far greater power than anything he'd have received without the stat-boosting attack. "Certain support moves, will increase your Pokémon's power, speed, or defense, in some way. In the case of Crawdaunt, Swords Dance quadrupled the power she would've normally given, however Meganium's resistance to water halved the damage. Which, when you're battling against somebody of equal or greater strength, can mean the difference between a win and a lose. Everybody understand?" She asked the class, trying to make sure that they were following along. "Meganium, use Synthesis." Taking in what light he could from the room, his body begun to glow in a pure light, indicating the absorption of energy and strength.
"Some support moves, will heal your Pokémon, rather than increase a skill. Moves such as Synthesis, Heal Bell, Aromatherapy, Morning Sun, and Heal Pulse are good attacks to have on a team, especially for large battles." Now it was Gengar's turn to demonstrate supportive attacks. "Other support moves, will inflict health ailments such as paralysis, a burn, poison, confusion, or even put you to sleep." Right on cue, Gengar floated over to Crawdaunt and used Hypnosis, putting her to sleep. "I may not have any burn-inducing attacks amongst my present team, but sleep should work too. Moves such like Aromatherapy and Safeguard can either heal your team from these kinds of attacks, or prevent them all together. Both of which, are highly useful things to have in battle. Other supportive attacks, like Lock-On and Mind Reader, will guarantee the accuracy of any attack, including the infamous one-hit knock out attacks." While Crawdaunt was taking her nap, Gengar and Meganium decided it was time to play around in a mock fight.
"This first semester will be dedicated mainly to learning all about Supportive attacks and how they can be best used to your advantage, especially when you're at a disadvantage. Next class we'll be starting the year off with group support, with moves such as quick guard, wide guard, Light Screen, and Reflect. Later, in a few month, we'll be putting things we learned in class, towards Triple and Rotation battles, both of which are battling styles that we won't be covering in regular battle class. Are there any questions? If any of you want to know more about a specific topic within our Advanced Battle Tactics curriculum, feel free to ask me and I'll be more than happy to cover it further or go into greater detail. I may be cruel, but I'm here to teach you all to be better Pokémon trainers."

Miyako left the class room that miss erza was in. As much as she loved to stay there and enjoy her class. She sadly had to go to miss athena class. Athena by far her least favorite teacher. Even that gay contest dude was better than her. Maybe she could just change classes? Lets face it... The person in charge probably wouldn't let her.
She showed up for class and took her seat. Trying her best to avoid athena and her horrible teaching. She began thinking about how to avoid her and why in the first of all she even went to this bloody class.
Athena looked up as the first of her second -technically third- round of students came into class. A few others (NPCs) were soon to follow, and they all took their seats quietly. Right away, there were strange looks when they saw the piece of paper placed face-down on each of their desks. Class would be starting soon, and already most of her second class was present, save for a couple of other kids according to her roster.
Ready for another round of class, Meganium, Crawdaunt, and Gengar stood in the front of the classroom with their trainer. ”Morning class.” She greeted, skimming through the previous class's pop quizzes, trying to get a basic idea of how well they did. Of course, she wouldn't be able to actually thoroughly read them and grade until that evening when she sent Noctowl out of her pokeball to assist. For the most part, her students really sucked at drawing, a matter which got her to chuckle at each of their bad drawings. Welp! Good thing she wasn't grading on artistic ability! "On your desks is a Pop Quiz, based on the material that you should've already learned and memorized before entering my class today. This is to make sure you know the material, and so I can figure out just how I should pace this class. The faster you get it done with, the faster we can get to the day's lesson."

Miyako listened to athena talk and what not. Not even noticing the piece of paper on her desk. After miss athena was done yammering on she began to work on the pop quiz. She wasn't overly trying her best. She could easily pass this but she chose not to because she hated athena.
Several minutes to a full twenty or so minutes pass. Once she was done she stood up and walk to her desk and set her test on athena desk and returned to her seat. She let out a loud yawn as she waited for the class to end. She laid down her head and decided to fall asleep pretty much since there wasn't anything else to do.

Maria overly enjoyed her first elective of the afternoon. She even got treats for her pokemon. Ditto seemed happy about it but was a little sad that he had to be placed back in his pokeball. It was for his own good at the moment though. Walking into class Maria took a seat without a word. Looking down at the paper in front of her she wondered how this test would go. When told to start Maria flipped over the paper and started to look over and answer the test questions.

Maria finally finished the ever long test and turned it in to Miss Athena. She sure was glad she studied it made the test a lot easier. She was sat at her desk and waited for everyone else to finish. After this class she was done with looking at notes for a while. Maybe she’d rest on her bed after this and just relax.
