So he becomes the Avatar by bringing balance to people and spirits right?
Well since the first element benders were the Badgermoles (Earth), Dragons (Fire), Flying bison (Air) and Tui and La (Water)... does that mean he also brought balance to nature itself for a time? Also, since Tui and La are spirits, does that mean the first element that the Avatar learned may have actually have been Water, and not Earth as I presumed in a previous thread... unless he did learned Earth first, or even Fire first from the dragons... (Since I think you see him using Fire in the trailer)...

So Water or Earth could be first, since in the Northern Hemisphere, Winter/Spring is at the beginning of the year... So... hmmm...

Also, someone reckoned Wan was a part of the first Airbenders, because they are all spiritual.
Fail theory, he was not born into any affiliation. Why? Because Anyone can go to the Spirit World, Iroh proved this. If you are spiritual enough, you can enter the Spirit World.
I believe the Order of the Whit Lotus was created by Wan as a means of keeping the old ways remembered, and how without the balance of the elements and spirits, the world would be chaos once more.
