Shed Some Light:
Stacie grew up extremely sheltered from the world. She was kept indoors all of her life except for going to private school, then she would come straight home, or else there'd be trouble. She never knew why she was treated so much differently that her older sister Leeanne. She was able to go out and do whatever she pleased, but Stacie had to stay put. Now, Stacie never spoke up about this. She was compliant and she was a good daughter. At the age of 12, her sister had left the house to try and start a band, much to her parent's dismay. This meant that Stacie took all of the lectures and all of the punishments. Any sign of sadness or discontent would earn a speech on how grateful she should be to be alive. The smell of liquor always staining their breaths.
One fateful night, Stacie's parents go out for the evening on their own. It was what they liked to call 'date night.' Stacie was locked in her room with only her phone that contained the numbers of her family members. At around 1:30 am, Stacie got a call, but it didn't sound like anyone she knew. An introduction later was shown to it being a police officer. He had given her the news that her parents had been in a fatal car accident on the way home from the bar. While feeling the grief, she also felt freedom. She was no longer under the control of them and she could do whatever she pleased. She had just turned 16 a month ago. It was time to start living her life.
Living that life mainly was consumed with begging for change and trying to find jobs where ever she could. This lasted for about a year till Stacie was met by quite the strange happening. While taking out the trash of a local fast food pace she worked part time at, she met a person who seemed to radiate light. hey spoke in sweet words as they unveiled a giant plate of news to Stacie about herself. She, according to this godly looking person, was their daughter. She was a demigod who was meant for bigger things than this. Stacie's willing personality made her drop both of her jobs and hike away to a place called Half-blood academy that she was told of by the shinning person.
