The Park

"Is the leash really necessary? It chafes like crazy!"

"Yes, every good little slave should need a leash. You never know when one may run away."

"That's ridiculous!" Seiku announced "Why would we run away, just to be captured again? Those capture ladies are scary people..."

"I suppose then you'd be sent back to me?"

"Maybe...I hope so. One time, I saw a guy who ran away from the store in the morning; he was returned in the afternoon and beaten all evening. I was a little kid at the time, so I didn't really understand, but a few years later, he was considered too ugly to be sold and was set as a guard." Seiku's eyes were wide, reliving the experience "That poor guy...I mean, before he wasn't ugly, and then they ruined his face! If someone touched my face like that I would have ripped their arm out!"

"Well, be aware, that if you were to run, I would hunt you down personally, and beat you personally. In the end, I doubt you'll allow yourself out in public without a paper bag over your head."

"Charming."

"Simply a warning."

They walked in silence for a moment, it began as the uncomfortable kind, but as the beauty of the green field became more apparent to them, there was no need for words. Trees dotted the outside of the grounds as if they were a protective barrier, a serene pond of clear liquid sat in the middle of it all, flowers grew near the pond, taking in the water's nutrients. On the left was the playground. It was pretty standard. Woodchips, playground gear, swings, and all sorts of things were taken into play as children squealed with laughter. On the right were completely fields, it was designed for dogs, but people also liked to take photographs of the area. Finally, blue-grey pavement was put down a few feet away from the tree barrier for people to take walks.

"This place is pretty nice." Yutsue commented, peering this way and that.

"You've never been here? I've even been here once or twice in my childhood."

"No..." Yutsue hesitated "I was sent to a boarding school when I was younger, it was in England...and I didn't have a lot of time to go out and 'play' or anything like that."

"That sucks...did your parents hate you or something?"

Yutsue growled. "No. My parents love me, they just wanted the best for me. That's all."

"I didn't mean it in a bad way!" Seiku stated in a hurry "I mean my mom didn't like me! But I didn't go to a boarding school or anything..."

"Too poor?"

"Naw. I guess my mom just didn't think I was worth it. But anyway..."

Yutsue didn't quite understand, but she wasn't interested in doing so. She simply returned her attention forward and said no more.

Drallen walked into the park, next to his Mistress, still chortling about the police woman.

"I am sorry if I embarrassed you back there, Mistress. I just really have no love for chains."

He climbed nimbly up a tree and offered her a hand up to sit on the branch next to him.

Nori took Drallen's hand. Although she did have a fear of heights, she was sure to be safe with him.

"You didn't embarass me, but I must admit I was shocked. I'm sorry, I should have paid more attention to you at the mall. That policewoman didn't knock out any teeth, did she?"

The pale girl eyed him carefully for a telltale trickle of blood or sign of a bruise forming.

"No, Milady." Drallen said and smiled. "It would take a bit more than that to make me bleed. Not many of the slave gaurds are.....kind.... nowadays."

Drallen scooted up so that he was leaning against the trunk and made a little gesture of welcome to Nori, offering her his chest to lean against so she would be more comfortable.

"So, Milady, if you don't mind my asking, probably again but I have a weird memory, why did you come to get a slave. From what you've said, your not particularly well off and are obviously used to doing all of your household chores yourself. Why do you need a slave?"

Nori smiled a little and moved closer to Drallen, but did not lay on him.

"I guess I was just lonely. The house is very empty -- so much that even a busy person like myself can hear the deafening silence. It bothers me to be in a big house alone."

One of her hands nervously fiddled with the edge of her skirt.

"That's probably a pathetic reason, huh?"

She look at the leaves surrounding the two of them, hoping he wasn't about to laugh.

"Why would it be pathetic?" Drallen asked gently. "After all loneliness is the worst kind of torture. It's enough to drive full grown and strong adults mad. Whatever the reason I'm glad you picked me, Milady. I know it's kind of inherent in my existence , but should you ever need anything, anything at all, no limits, call on me, and it will be my pleasure." He looked her in the eyes seriously.

Nori looked back at him, pleasently surprised that he understood.

"Mm......okay."

She wasn't exactly sure what to have said to that last comment, so Nori agreed to what he told her. Noticing something, she laughed a little and pointed above Drallen's head.

"Look! It's a flower bud, just above your hair. It looks like it grew out of your head."

The tree had many leaves, so much tha Nori hadn't noticed the few blossoms here and there. It would look very pretty when all the flowers opened up.

Drallen looked up at the flower just in time to get a faceful of droppings from the bird the a higher branch. He looked back at Nori with a comic look of surprise on his face.

"Erm. Milady, could I trouble you for a handkerchief?"

Nori made an odd face and checked her pockets. She didnt seem to have a hankerchief, but she did at least have a tissue. She stretched it out towards him.

"Here."

She wasn't sure whether it was proper ettiqute [sp?] to watch him use it or not, so Nori averted her eyes.

Drallen cleaned his face, embarassed. He tossed the tissue, and watched it float away on the wind.

He looked back at his beautiful mistress.

"Milady? Perhaps we should get something to eat. It's getting to be around suppertime."

He dug through his pockets and pulled out some money, counting it up.

"I have enough to treat you to something as long as it's not ridiculously overpriced. Have you got a favorite restraunt?"

"Really?"
redface

It was an idea that hadn't occured to Nori in years. She was such a good cook, she couldn't even remember the last time she went to a restaurant, let alone have a favorite. But she did love spicy food, so there had to be a restuarant that served that somewhere around.

"No, I don't have a favorite restaurant, but maybe we could try some Thai or East Indian?
PostPosted: Tue Aug 22, 2006 2:48 pm

"Sure." Drallen said and jumped to the ground. "I know a place that makes outrageously good Thai food if you'd like to try, it in kind of a shady neighborhood, but no one there would dare mess with you while I'm there."

Drallen held out his arms to catch his mistress, and tried to avoid looking up her skirt((if she was wearing one, if she wasn't he didn't))

"Umm, okay. I'd love to."

Nori shifted uncomfortably, she didn't know quite how to scoot off the branch at least semi-greacefully, so she gave up. Putting her weight on both palms, she pushed herself forward, landing rather akwardly in Drallen's arms. Thankfully, her skirt had only flared out some on the way down and had not actually gone up. She released a sigh of relief.

"I guess you've been a lot of places, huh? You've probably noticed, but I don't get out much." xp

Said Nori, dusting her skirt off.

"Well in truth, I'm a bit claustrophobic and as you prbably remember, those cages were not very spacious. I used to sneak out at night and carouse the rougher sides of town, where the rebel guys hang out. More spacious. Besides, it helps to make the right friends in certain situations and its hard to do so from captivity." Drallen explained as he sat her on her feet. Taking her hand and the lead, he lead her away from the nicer looking buildings in the better parts of town to the older part. He nodded to a couple of hidden male sentries who almost fell out of their hiding places, to see him guiding a woman into their territory. He found his way to the restraunt and offered Nori a seat.

Nori sat down and took a moment to look around. For an establishment set in the rough side of town, the interior wasn't that shabby. Nori marveled at the decorative lights and mirrored walls. She felt as if she was in the ocean with royal blue surrounding her on all sides -- the decorators must've used fung shuei [sp?] or something because Nori was very much at ease.

Wow! This place is nice..."

She looked across the table at Drallen, excited.
