Joshua was born to be just like his brother, Kizuka: Cold Blooded, Merciless, Strong, and have a strong sense of Independence. Seeing as how he didn't, his family forced his brother to fight him to the death in the Underworld. During the battle, he found a way to escape and blend in with other people, but found an even better way to hide: by going to the Rosario Academy where they can also teach him to get even stronger and get ready for the next....and maybe the last...encounter with his brother. Joshua is much different from his brother. He is kind and shows mercy and rather talk than fight...but will if he needs to. He's very shy around women and outgoing and gets a bit carried away when hanging around friends.

Not exactly his pet, but more like his follower. Kanin the Magician was a guardian for Joshua when he was 5. She follows him and helps him when needed by using high levels of magic
