Personality Description: Joel carries himself with a joyous demeanor, often wearing a smile to show his happiness. He rarely gets upset and tries to live optimistically, but has a darker side to himself. This side of himself only comes out while in combat and he has the upper hand. His expression doesn't change, continuing to wear his usual smile, but there is a coldness to it when closely observed.
Social Demeanor: Joel abhors excessive violence.
Known Habits/Hobbies: His most noticeable habit is placing his index finger in front of his mouth, silently shushing people when they are too loud. As for hobbies, Joel loves to crochet, sometimes making little dolls that look like random people (often people in A.I.M. or people he likes). He sometimes listens to relaxing music as he crochets, but it's often silent when he works.

Biography: Born to a Norwegian father and American mother, Joel lived a greatly uneventful life. Tragedy, however, struck him at a young age in the form of a harsh fever. The recovery was short, but the damage was done, severely damaging his throat and vocal chords. He was still able to speak somewhat, but only in a low whisper. As he continued to grow up, he chose to remain mostly silent, only speaking when absolutely necessary. When he did choose to speak, however, no one would be able to hear him, frustrating him greatly. One day, when he was truly fed up, he wanted everyone to become quiet, suddenly ushering a space absolute silence. This was the day he discovered his abilities.
As he grew into adulthood, he continued to develop his powers, growing stronger in his silent influence. Feel like he couldn't truly evolve his powers while remaining with his parents, Joel left his home, but not without permanently silencing his parents to prevent them from telling anyone about him. His obsession with silence grew as his powers did, causing his sanity to slip ever so slightly. Dreaming of spreading global silence, he knew that he needed help, but no "hero" would willingly help him. He was one day approached by the leader of A.I.M., offering him a position in the organization's ranks. With only a smile and a "shushing" pantomime, he happily agreed.
