Invisible Phantom

This fan fiction has an OC in it. An OC that I had created over a year ago. Her name is Rosaline Vargas, and she represents Milan, Italy. Please don't be mad at how I wrote her up. Enjoy.

There she was. Sitting out on top of the roof, a small lunchbox sat in her small lap as she ate. Her short redwood locks swayed in the gentle breeze as I watched her through my glasses. She didn't notice me at first, considering that I was staying as quiet as possible. Her hazel orbs stared down at her food excitingly as she took another bite into the slice of pizza she had. I gulped a bit, watching her quietly. However, the beautiful image of her munching away faded as the door slammed shut behind me.

The girl jumped from surprise, quickly looking up at me. I mentally smacked myself for letting the door shut on its own. I felt a small blush run across my face. She just looked so innocent and cute sitting there.

"Umm... Tere, Rosaline," I greeted, pushing up my glasses on the bridge of my nose.

The girl looked down at her feet timidly, "C-Ciao..." she greeted in return. I almost fainted right there. Her soft voice, her innocent aura about her, and her quiet nature was all so overwhelming.

I held up my own lunchbox, "Do you mind if I eat up here with you..?" I asked softly, almost nervously. The Italian girl gave a simple nod, taking the last bite of her pizza.

Sighing with relief, I moved over toward her, taking a seat nearby. As I expected, Rosaline moved away from me, though I can understand. A lot of the students at the school picked on her for being so quiet. They made her cry so many times, and I couldn't do anything to help her.

As I opened up my lunchbox, I looked over at her with my soft blue irises, feeling my own blonde hair sway in the breeze, "So, how are your grades?" I asked.

She peeked up at me, gracing me with a small timid grin, "Oh, they've been alright, Signor Eduard. In fact, I'm passing everything, including gym."

I let out a sigh of relief, "I'm glad you're doing well with classes, Rosaline. I was getting worried about you."

I chuckled lightly as she tilted her head at me. So oblivious, just like her brother, Feliciano. By the look on her face, I could tell she was confused why anyone would be worried about her.

"To be honest, I was worried because you're the only person in school who doesn't have a friend. Sure, you may have two protective and great brothers, but that's not enough sometimes," I explained to her softly, hoping not to scare her away.

She looked down at her open lunchbox that was filled with some pasta in it, "....I... I know it's not enough... But the happiness of my fratellos is more important to me than anything!"

My eyes widened a bit. Did she just say that she didn't care about her own happiness? What about her wants and needs? Then again... That's also the reason why I love her so much. She's the most selfless person I know, and I want to do everything I can to make her happy.

"...Rosaline..?"

Only her hazel eyes glanced up at me, "Si..?"

I felt nervous sweat rolling down my cheek as I gulped a bit. I can't hold it in any longer. I just couldn't. Within a mere second, I moved close toward her, cupping her cheeks gently with my hands. Her eyes were full of surprise and a little bit of fear. She probably thought I was going to hurt her, but I wasn't. I would never dream of doing such a thing. Her face turned bright red as I leaned down, crashing my lips against hers firmly.

I could feel my face grow hot as I kissed her. She didn't respond back to me, probably from the shock. As I pulled away, I noticed her face was as red as any fresh ripe tomato. I was pretty sure my own face was just as red.

"There's been something I've been meaning to tell you, Rosaline Vargas. Ma armastan sind!" I delcared, hugging her tightly in my arms. I could feel her body tense up. Tears stund painfully in my eyes at her silence. Was I too frightening for her? "Ma armastan sind..." I repeated more softly, quietly against her ear, "Ever since I first met you in class, I couldn't take my eyes off of you. Even though we're both straight A students, I figured you wouldn't want a guy like me.. But my feelings for you never faded, and they never will."

Surprisingly, I felt her return the hug. Her embrace was warm, gentle, and caring.

"...Ti amo troppo.." she said softly against my shoulder, "T-To be honest... I didn't think anyone would care about me at all... Let alone love me..."

She sobbed softly into my shoulder as I gently stroked her soft hair, "It's okay," I soothed, "I'm here and I love you... You don't have to worry about bullies ever again.. Not while I'm around.."

It was a promise I made to her. I wanted to show her that I truly meant what I said. In truth, I was completely head over heels for this quiet, hurt Italian girl. Pulling away just a little bit, I glanced down at her, my eyes becoming half-lidded. I leaned down, kissing her more softly. Much to my surprise, she returned the kiss. The sweetest first kiss from the girl of my dreams that I ever experienced.

I was extremely happy that I chose to eat up on the roof of the school, because if I hadn't, I wouldn't have found the courage to tell the one that I love "Ma armastan sind."
