It doesn't look like any of the sports lists or clubs have been updated in a while, seeing as how they all say none. Is the crew not updating them, and expecting us to know who is in the clubs or what? What's going on with that?
PostPosted: Tue Jul 23, 2013 11:22 pm

I believe no one is really updating them. I wish I could help but I'll talk to Captain and another friendly crew member to see if we can get that information back up and updated. Unfortunately I'm not a crew member myself or I would do it. Sorry for all your waiting! <3
{Edit: Actually maybe Captain can see this herself and answer since she's online atm...

Eh, excuse me, captain here .-./ Hi.
Yeah, there was a time when I thought sports and clubs were a great idea, so I donated a couple days worth of my time organizing and posting different clubs and sports and then taking additional time to go through the thread and accept people into clubs/sports, then meticulously go back and copy/paste scores of names into their corresponding categories. There's more I could talk about, but I think you get the point; it was just a bunch of work, really.

Then, maybe I'd get.. 3 posts in a club or sport? Maybe none at all, I dunno, I've long since stopped paying attention to that. In the end, it's just a bunch of pointless work that went unappreciated and unused, so I've stopped caring about sports and clubs.

I know there'll be a member or two who'll say "Oh, I'd appreciate it captain if you did that o: " because I've done this routine a hundred times on several topics, but that's all it is, a routine. I'll do whatever they want for a couple of weeks until those 'dedicated' members move on to something else or quit gaia altogether. Then I'm left with little to show, and it just leaves me tired.

Don't get me wrong, I love the guild <3
Even if I don't seem like a fit captain. I don't feel like a captain.
I just feel like all of the guild members are in an enormous group gathered 50 yards away from me talking about everything I should be doing with the guild and wondering why 50+ things haven't been done, while no one really confronts me about it, except the occasional brute that comes at me caps-locked and armed with insults lacking in grammar.
It's a bit entertaining, really.

Sorry for the giant wall of text. VC's and crew are usually reliable for the first week or two they're here, then they kind of just float around like pollen.

tl;dr : It's a lot of work, and no one really cares.

Thank youu ouo
But I see pretty much everything here anyway. Quoting me about it will probably do well to get me to actually do something though.

*Continues floating*

Unfortunately, the little work that I can manage as a crew member is not noticeable; what I do here as Crew is assist new members into getting settled. Admittedly, I have not solved every question nor complaint made about topics; but I am also not capable of answering most of these questions due to the lack of knowledge concerning the inner workings of this guild. I don't decide new changes, nor can I give out future plans; what I am capable of doing for this Guild concerns profile Information and Dorm Settlement.

In multiple cases, User's ask to have their profiles accepted; or to be looked over without the knowledge that they aren't truly supervised (For the most part, I look them over). I inform those who ask for permission that as long as they aren't breaking the rules, they may start role-playing immediately after creating their Profile Sheet; after that, if they need it I assist them in finding Dorm's. I contact the head's of dorms that are even full when no empty (Active) dorms are available, and see if they can fit in another member despite their obvious Full signs. I listen to the problems that the new members face, and I attempt to settle them; not everyone is gone Devi.

I plan to stay, and it's unfortunate that you don't see the effort that some of us put into this Guild.

It's alright; I understand. I just gave up on my two guilds after a while, since everyone went inactive =,=
Maybe it's not place to mention this, but if the clubs aren't getting used anymore, then maybe the sign up topics should be deleted, as well as any club rooms that may have been. If you don't want to do that, I could take care of it for ya. I wouldn't want to see people randomly asking the same question cat_sweatdrop

I guess that if I make it my place to say that, then I can't ignore Glacier's reply, either.
Perhaps if you ask the crew to do whatever it is needs to get done, you won't have that issue. As crew, it's their responsibility to keep the guild running and serve their captain, but they can't do that if they don't know what it is that needs to get done. You can't expect them to just do, because none of us are mind-readers, and henceforth automatically know what's going on. Maybe you have done that and I'm just misreading the situation, in which case forgive me, and forget everything I just said cat_smile

Well... Forgive me for saying this... and it's probably not my place either... Should I say it at all? .-.
Well... it's not that clubs are a bad idea, but... if you're only getting a few posts in one topic, then maybe it's because they moved their character somewhere else where people are more prone to go? I know that if my character was in a topic where nobody posted and then I wanted to use said character, I'd probably move them... You just have to look at if there are members posting in topics frequently. ... That doesn't even make sense to me...
So like, if people aren't posting in the club topics, then look around and see if they're posting in other topics a lot...(you probably already know this sweatdrop )

And if you really think that people don't like a topic, send an announcement, then create a poll topic. I did that a few times... it usually gets the point across... (Ex. "Do you think we should get rid of clubs?" Announcement + Topic. Poll question: "Should we get rid of the clubs?" Poll Choices "Yes." "No." "Only Some of them." "I'll Post About It!" And then ask them to say which ones they really like or something...)

Sorry for going off on a rant... I just thought I might try and help c:

Speaking of dorms, am I allowed to just open a topic, or do I have to squeeze in with someone else?
PostPosted: Mon Jul 29, 2013 12:15 pm

Once your profile is created, and you wish to find a dorm; you can search for open dorms providing vacancies or spots open, but if you would prefer you can just open a topic ^^ Just make sure to label it as a Dorm with your Character's name within it; then specify how many roommates you would like (If any) and begin posting!

Photos of your bedroom, living room, bathroom, etc. Are not required but are encouraged when you create a dorm, and you can ask for photos from any of your roommates to help set a scene for their room. If you have any further questions feel free to ask me or another Moderator~

Brutes with cap letters? Crew being good for only a week or so? o.o...
Shishi as the newest crew member (yet, temp. per agreement, temp. meaning so long as you wake up on the 'no demotion for you' side of the bed.), am usually here and now am left to think...maybe she's telling me something... (has image of Devi pointing at me saying "You wont last week! Bahaha!")
I know I wasn't so...okay I did list off a couple issues....or a lot...that I wanted to help you fix but I'm not a complete brute biggrin I didnt use complete caps! Yay!

Regardless of how you view us, Captain Devi-san, Or how you view yourself in the guild, you do still have some active crew that are trying to help you. smile I've gotten all the coding threads in the O.O.C. moved for you, and the Official interaction requesty thingy's up for you, (Though, I've been meaning to ask if you'd like me to delete the inactive interaction request threads. Also...um...there's a locked forum in the O.O.C. that's obviously been moved, a year or so ago, never unlocked. I didn't know what you wanted done with it so I've just left it alone for the time being...anyway, Completely off subject...)
You just tell me what missions you has for us to do, oh great one...though, I can't speak for all the crew, I'd gladly assist in any shenanigans you want done. biggrin
Also Cap. Devi, Please understand that this is not us attempting to single you out in this or throw blame on you by saying we're still here you just didn't ask. It's us admitting that some of are still here though at times it seems like we are inactive. I'm sorry that you feel the weight of the guild on you and humbly apologize in hopes that we can help change it.
The nice part about being crew is that most the time we are like the mods of a site. The problem in this tends to be that we are often to busy paying attention to the members and experiencing the fun of the site to realize the creator and owner, of the wonderful site we like so much, is being warn down by it. The dying of a guild or Inactivity of a guild is at times a fear for every guild leader. It happens to frequently to not be a fear, and when complete subforums go inactive for years it get exhausting to maintain for nothing to show. I know it all to well, (I've had roughly 10 guilds over the last 4 years alone and all have either gone inactive and been given away or gone inactive and sat in my guild box, and I don't have the heart to get rid of them.) In the end sometimes it takes a moment like this to bring us together in hopes we can find a solution to this current problem, as well as helping you prevent it from reacquiring or at least preparing ourselves for what to do if it happens again.
