Allen Weller had a happy life. That was until his whole family was slaughtered. One night while his family was home sleeping, a burglar broke in and was stealing things. Allens mom and dad got up and tried to stop him, but the thief shot Allens mom and dad point blank. Allen was with them and ran. He was so scared. He ran up to his older brothers room who told him to hide in the closet and no matter what he heard he was not to move. The thief followed pursuit and when Allen's older brother tried to stop him, he was shot point blank. Police sirens could be heard and the thief ran. Allen came out and started to cry over the loss of hi family. Now a year later, he is living with his best friend ~X~ and his family a few blocks away. Allen hasn't spoken since that night he is always silent, not happy and cracking jokes like he used to be. the was ~X~ remembers. ~X~ can see the old Allen dwelling beneath the surface of this new broken Allen. He wants to save Allen, wants the old Allen back, the one he is in love with.

My desires: I only want one thing, and that is for Allen to smile again.
I despise: The injustice in life that allows such irreparable suffering to exist.
My "----" life: I lived a pretty decent life. I grew up wanting for nothing, but that's only because my parents taught me not to yearn for things out of my reach. And I took it to heart. If I didn't have the money for it, I didn't desire. And even when I did have the money, I didn't obsess over the things I could afford. As such, I was able to live a life of contentment, desiring few things, all of which were easily unattainable. As such, when I found my heart calling out towards my best friend, Allen, I didn't know what to do. I don't know if he 'swings this way' or not. And even if he did, was I his type? I mulled over this during the peak of my puberty...and that's when the accident happened.

It was tragic, and Allen pretty much lost everything. He's stopped talking, no longer smiles, and worst of all, nothing I do seems to help him. I still love him, but he's now a minor, whereas I'm an adult. I can't be there for him as I wish to. The most I can do...is be the voice of reason and try to keep him on the path of the living.

While I wait for my efforts to help my friend smile again, I'm working as a host in a late-night cafe. The sort that caters to nocturnal sorts who don't function during the day at all. It's not seedy and we don't sell sex. I simply serve as a companion for someone to talk to and eat with as they lack friends who are on the same life schedule. Also, we don't serve alcohol, which is how I'm able to work here.

Allen woke up covered in sweat. He had another bad dream. The killer had gotten him this time. He wiped his eyes and then got out of bed slowly. He was grateful to Ciel and his family for taking him in after what happened. Allen gave a quiet sigh and went out to the kitchen. There,Ciel's mother,Sally was making pancakes and eggs with sausage links. "Morning Allen." She said cheerfully as she poured Allen some orange juice. Allen waved and sat down at the table,sipping his juice.

Allen just nodded and started to eat as soon as Sally put the food on his plate. Today was Wednesday and that meant therapy for Allen. His therapist was the only one he ever talked to, and that was once in a great while. He mostly listened. Allen gave another sigh as he cut up his pancakes.

Allen looked down at his pancakes and took in some air. His therapist told him,he needed to start talking to others or else,he would never get any better."o...ok...." Allen squeaked out and started to cry as he finally said is first words to his best friend.

Allen blushed a deep red as he heard what Ciels mom said. He wiped away at his tears and started to eat his pancakes again, pouring some more maple syrup. "I wanna go to the park.." Allen said softly.

"Alright." Allen said and ate his breakfast. After he was done, he went in the bathroom and brushed his teeth and his hair. He came back out and got ready to go to his therapy appointment. He waved goodbye to Ciel and got in Sally's car. Sally got in and started the car and drove off. An hour and a half later, Allen came back.

Allen took a quick shower and dressed in some fresh clothes. He brushed his hair out and then sat on the couch. He was gonna wait till Ciel got up. He knew his friend worked hard and didn't want to disturb him.

"That's ok." Allen said softly as he looked down at his lap. "Can we go to the park now?" Allen fiddled with the bottom of his shirt as he waited for the answer.
