The story so far:
It is a beautiful, sunny morning after a chilly early spring night, causing a nice strong breeze.

Erin bounded down the front steps of the Seara school, a long bundle tucked under his arm. He cavorted along the street, enjoying the feeling of the cool breeze across his face and the warmth of the sun on his back. After a few turns on the streets of Greinell, he reached his destination. He skipped up the front steps of the building and knocked firmly on the door. "Chris! Chris!" he called, "It's me, Erin!"

*Chris was finishing up the last batch of chocolate chip muffins when he heard a knock on the front door. He set the hot muffin tray down on the oven to cool and threw the oven mitt on the table. He headed toward the door and opened it to see his good friend, Erin. It was a surprise, a pleasant surprise.*
Erin, Good to see you, Want to come in?
*He stood there in the doorway with the smell of the baked goodies wafting out onto the breeze. Chris smiled despite flour on half of his face and on his old yellow apron. He was glad to have visitors on this nice day. Practicing what he learned at the bakery could only go for so long and a break could be just what he needed to come back to it fresh and with more ideas.*
I just finished baking a bunch of stuff, I can make some tea to go with it?

Erin smiled, "Sure! I'd love some tea! But afterwards, you have to come out with me." He held up the package he was carrying, it was thin and about 3 feet long and wrapped in brown paper for protection. He just grinned and didn't bother to explain what it was outright, Erin was obviously enjoying being enigmatic.

*Chris half smiled at the package and Erin's evasive explanation and let him in. He closed the door and headed toward the kitchen. Taking some of the muffins that had cooled he arranged a variety of them onto a platter and started boiling water for some tea with the old fashioned metal teapot his mother loved. He found the flowers on it to be a bit much to his liking but it wasnt really his house. He placed additional scones and cookies on the platter and then brought it to the table. As he went to fetch some teacups he commented*
The tea will be ready shortly, I hope you enjoy the snacks.
*He placed the tea settings for two and on hearing the whistle of the teapot went to grab it and pour the hot water. He poured it onto each cup then set the pot down on a hotpad by the snacks and reached for a teabag to put into his own tea. He was in the mood for regular breakfast tea but there were also orange spice, mint, earl grey, and strawberry. He had made it from some of the strawberries he had gathered and found it to be quite nice in a tea.*

Erin sat in a seat at the table, continuing to grin to himself. He took one of the muffins, they looked pretty good, and put it on his plate, but the cookies and other pastries he left alone. He set his package down on the floor and scooted his chair up to the table. "Thank you."
"You know, it's really lovely weather out today," He said to start a conversation. He pulled off a chunk of the top of the muffin and popped it into his mouth. Not too bad, he thought to himself, even though he'd rather have something else. When Chris came with the hot water, he looked at the tea bags, and picked one of the ones that seemed to be homemade and marked "strawberry".

Your right, the weather is absolutely lovely today. Did you have anything in mind? *Chris said as he sipped some tea. He wondered if he should break out the old picnic basket and throw a bit of lunch in there but as he did not quite know what Erin had planned he would have to wait and see what happened. With any luck he would met a few more people and more new friends. Or he could run into ones he already knew such as Laurie and Valerie. The answer could be in that strange package Erin had and Chris wasn't exactly sure what it was but he did suspect it had something to do with Erin's plan. Curiously he inquired and asked outloud* Does it have to do with that package there?

"Mmm hmm!" He mumbled into his teacup between sips. He lowered his cup and said "It does, but the table is too full now..." and quickly changing the subject, he asked, "So... who's the little sheep girl, anyway? She's really cute."

*Chris looked surprised and then stammered out an answer. How could he find the words to express how he felt? For some reason and he did not know why Chris was happier when she was around. Maybe some friends felt a little closer than others he was not sure. He didn't think he acted different around her either but why was Erin bringing this up anyway? Putting on the best poker face a boy could he replied.*
She's ok I guess
*Chris gathered some of the foods on the table for later and immediately changed the subject. It made him feel awkward to talk about and he was only twelve. He had plenty of time for whatever it was. Besides he had plenty to keep him busy here. He worked hard at his apprentice job and learning the trade of a baker.
He was driven to do that, Once he had a proper trade he could get a house of his own. With his own two hands he created the product that would make him Lera. Besides, For now he was content with the sneaky glances and Valerie's company. He picked up the basket and using this as an excuse replied to Erin*
Whats say we get out of here eh?

Erin laughed, "Ok, ok. I see how it is." and rolled his eyes. He knew his friend was just being shy and needed some help, but he thought he'd have to warm Chris up to the idea slowly. One mention of the issue today would be enough. He felt secretly happy inside thinking he was going to help out his friend, like a little cupid of love.
He let Chris take his teacup away, and pulled out the package from under the table. "Getting going sounds good, we don't want the weather to change. It could get cloudy this afternoon, I think. I'm ready to go," he said and got up to go to the front door, turning around to make sure Chris was following. "This will be really fun, I promise!" He was almost bouncing with excitement.

Chris picked up the picnic basket and followed Erin out the front door. They walked through the front yard garden and onto the path leading to town. He wasn't sure if they would be taking the bus or would be walking somewhere. Despite his confusion he continued to let Erin lead them to whereever these plans led. It sounded like such fun and the company was great too. Erin was a good friend, maybe he should make him a pie or something.*

Erin led his friend out of the yard and onto the sidewalk. Down the road they went, but before reaching town, they took a turn down a road that lead further out of town instead of in. Erin was enjoying the beautiful walk, the sun on his back and the sweet smells of spring filling his nostrils. He kept a quick pace, but made sure Chris wasn't going to lag behind. Eventually the road turned to the right to avoid a large hill, but Erin stopped following the edge of the road and bounded up the hill. When he reached the top, he turned to face Chris with a huge smile on his face.
