Alexia dashes towards the gate, and, hopefully, freedom. Looking over her shoulder as the gate closes she see a comforting, if not frightened, smile on the face of a Bard she barely knew.

The image of Vier slowly fades away as you run into the warp gate...but instead of a new location coming into view, all you see is darkness. Might have the Aboleths done something to the gate while you were away?

You're not quite sure if this is supposed to happen. Ix and Azrael never said anything about this sort of thing. All you can see is a whole lot of dark, so there's not a whole lot you can do. You're still breathing, and you have a pulse, so you're not dead...

After a short amount of time (no more than a minute) you start to feel yourself pulled to the side, almost as if some rope is tugging you towards some unseen destination. After a few seconds, you emerge from the very same gate you walked into just moments ago!

But this time, the surroundings seem very different. The chamber room is gone, and you can see the stone buildings in the distance. The feeling of uneasiness is gone, and the entire city is lit with some kind of magical illumination. Standing around the gate are many people in robes, casters of some kind. Once of the characters, and elderly man whose robes are just a little fancier than the rest, yell out:

"I told you it would work!"

Highly confused and a bit disoriented, Lady Alexia approaches the elderly gentleman and asks, "Do I know you?"

"Oh, no you don't. My name is Mage Angon. I'm sorry if your travel here has been traumatic....it hasn't, has it? Oh, and what by chance is your name? I'm afraid we weren't able to find that out when we got you here."

"I am Lady Alexia of Malos. You may not recognize the place, though. And the trip was a new experience, to say the least. Haven't had that much of a bumpy ride before while traveling through these warp-gates. Pleasure to meet you, Mage Agnon. I am wondering now, though, where are we?"

"I don't expect we're much farther away from where you started from. Nevertheless, welcome to Al Aldora."

Mage Angon gestures to the city in front of you, and you can in fact discern that this place is the same Al Aldora that you were in before, though now it is populated with many people travelling through the streets and across the bridges connecting buildings. About 50 feet away from the gate, you see a perimeter of low barriers, apparently to keep random passerbys from entering the area. A group of about 20 people has gathered at the edge, and one of them, a strong looking woman in her 50s, jumps over the barrier and walks over to the gate. She and Mage Angon begin to talk in a language unknown to you, but it seems as if they're in some kind of argument. Not a hostile one, but an argument with plenty of snarky remarks and I-told-you-so's. Snark from the lady, and I-told-you-so from the elderly gentleman. After a few minutes of argument and a few seconds of friendly glaring at each other, Mage Angon begins to cast a spell on the lady, which you recognize as a form of Comprehend Language. Mage Angon then turns to you:

"I believe we have some important matters to discuss, including the purpose for which we have summoned you here. If you would please accompany me and Wrought Aldora, we may have a more comfortable and private discussion."

Alexia follows the kind Mage. She explains in a nutshell her reason for being there and what her quest consists of. She explains that her party members have apparently not followed her through the same gate (possibly) and shares her hopes that she will be reunited with them, especially a certain Razorclaw Shifter named Tanu.

You barely finish your first sentence when Mage Angon interrupts you:

"That is a matter for a more private conversation."

"Ah," Lady Alexia whispers. "Got it."
