REDLINES
For those that don't know what redlines are, they are when another person scribbles over with your tears as ink and tell you what is wrong with the piece. NORMALLY THEY GIVE PRETTY GOOD ADVICE TOO.
They come in very handy for quick crits and explanations on pieces that are giving you a butt ache.
If you want a redline from me, just ask and post the picture! I wont require a form for this.
HOW AM I QUALIFIED TO GIVE REDLINES YOU ASK? I'm an a*****e. In other words, I'm honest. That is about it. Yeah I've studied like hell and have taken college courses but that doesn't matter here. I don't sugarcoat.

For starters your anatomy could use work [but aren't we all in that same boat? xD ]. I highly suggest a life drawing course but I know that isn't really available for everyone. So this site could work as a placebo for now. C: I also suggest giving Loomis a read. His books are always a helpful read for any level.
Be wary of how your color your lines! Bright colors don't always look as pleasing against certain dark colors. Try toying with the color wheel and hue list before settling on a color.
I feel this piece is your strongest. However, work on lineweight.
Your lines are very shakey and mostly the same width.
Try using broad and signle strokes as well as different widths for line weight.
See how I thickened a few lines below?
It gives a better feel of a lightsource.
here is a gritty line tutorial I did for a few friend that might help you out as well.
Another great way to achieve better lines is to work HUGE and then shrink down to the size needed.
Some last bit of tips, don't be afraid of finding or keeping a style. Art changes and you should allow yourself to draw naturally. Your style grows and morphs as you go along.
For instance, compare my older work to what it is now. Art changes and don't worry about sticking to what you know now.
Experiment and your style will come along.
Just keep drawing and you'll get great <3

Hello *waves* I've been struggling on two personal projects and I think they could use a fresh set of eyes. I'm mostly a self-taught artist forgive me ; A;. I know that both of them are unfinished (the first one, especially), but I feel like there's something off with the shoulder area. I tend to have a problem there and I just need to point out how the hell shoulders work. In the first one, I'm also experimenting with different light sources for the first time. All those little green and red dots will be sources of light. I have no idea how that's going to bounce off of everything. The second one, again the shoulders, and I can't seem to draw the inside of a mouth no matter how many I look at. Argh...I think I just bit off more than I can chew for my art knowledge. rofl *Prepares ego*
