Didn't see a topic posted, so I'd thought I'd share what I had sent to a friend one day:
So, I was reading my Bible, following my reading plan from www.youversion.com, and I read in the book of Joshua how the Lord gave the Israelites victory in the land of Canaan because everyone obeyed the command of the Lord and followed Him in all their ways. In the first few chapters, we see of people who did not obey God, and they were wiped out completely lest the wrath of God fall on the nation.
At this point, you have to stop and pause. We know from reading the Old Testament how even though the Israelites are God's chosen people, they eventually stopped obeying the commands of God, and followed after the influences that surrounded them. This lead to their downfall and later captivity.
In the New Testament, Jesus says "Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads, to life, and those who find it are few" (Matthew 7:13-14, ESV). In other words, those who follow the easy way of the world and doing what they want to, will go down the path of destruction. But those that follow the commands of the Lord will find true freedom and true life!
I encourage you to examine yourself today, are you following the narrow way of the Lord? We find time and time again how those who follow the way of the Lord, prosper in all they do, as well as find true rest for their souls.
To find out if you are walking in the way, go to Exodus 20 starting @ verse 5 and go through the 10 commandments. If you've broken them, ask the Father to forgive you in Jesus' name and repent (turn away from) your sins. Also, to make sure you stay on the narrow path, start making time to spend with the Lord before you start your day. What I've been doing is spending @ least an hour in Bible reading, listening to worship music or sermons, and prayer for the first hour of my day. You won't regret spending time with the Lord! If you don't have a reading plan of your own, read a chapter of the book of John or Proverbs a day.
Be encouraged, and Stay on the narrow path!
Ohana

Amen!
The easiest way isn't always the godly way. We must be ready to face struggles. A lot of us have learned this on our Christian walk that just because something is easy doesn't make it what God wants.
Thank you once again for posting the church message and keeping this alive =) thank you!

The narrow path is definitely hard to stay on, and traversing it without God is pretty much impossible. I actually started praying about this a few days ago, for guidance down the path of the righteous. Thank you for this meeting! You've inspired me to get up earlier to spend more time with the Lord smile

Since I don't drive, I get dropped off at a local restaurant before work. I usually use the wi-fi to make my own "sanctuary" of sorts. there are times though, when I'm doing something out of the ordinary that I don't spend the time with God. But His Grace allows me to try again, and every time I do it, it becomes easier to make it a part of my life routine smile

Every time I'm running late, I send a quick prayer to God for some time to read my Bible and to pray. He never fails. smile
