In the year 2012, a giant meteor struck the Earth and caused an immeasurable cataclysm. The air was filled with a toxin black smog that killed many and mutated the rest. The mutations varied from fish people and birdmen to people made of living stone and fire.(leaving it really open) People began to realize that the level of mutation corresponded to the amount of exposure the smog. In an effort to escape, humanity retreated to the outer atmosphere of the planet in an orbiting continent named Star Gazer 1. Scientists worked tirelessly to disperse the smog and reverse, or at least diminish its effect. All to no avail. Some people were sent in to study the smog after developing strange tolerances to its mutagenic effects. Rumors began to circulate the there was an individual who had mutated not just to live in the smog but to feed on it. Many set out in search of this person. None had returned with stories of success.

The skies filled with a grizzly golden haze that seemed to swirl with the clouds above. Shrouding the world in darkness as the golden skies began to sink and engulf all that around it. As it pulled closer the people below all looked up in amazement - frozen in time as they remained blind to what was truly happening. The air filled with the green toxins, slowly it seeped into their eyes, beginning to burn away their humanity as they watched this dark cloud of darkness descend upon their world. Those chosen to survive would meet the gruesome fate of natural mutation. Across the world people began to fall, slamming against the pavement, becoming known to those still alive as the Mass Extinction.
Those who remained alive would be chosen by the Dark Clouds. They had survived the final cut. Thunder growing louder and louder as it inched its way towards one city at a time, choosing those who fit the qualities to strive for a better life. Purple and red lightning, thousands of times hotter than those of today's, crackled as they stroke the ground. Picking those worthy with each touch-down to Earth.

A selected few had offered to study this newly smog-filled world for possible ways to escape a fate that had been chosen for them. Some had offered in hopes of curing themselves, others, instead, went to feed on the fumes as certain stories told of a creature doing so already. None had returned with stories of success.

Name: Charles Coleson Age: 37 Nickname(optional): Charcoal Class: Terraphage Mutation Description: Pyrophage, subspecies of terraphage that is widely feared and avoided. Their entire body has become solidified flame. Their skin is constantly flowing magma. Physical contact between a pyrophage and most other non-pyrophage subspecies is often fatal, thus they live in seclusion among other pyrophages. Personality: Charles is a very kind and caring person. He had never been of an angry temperament until his mutation. As a pyrophage, he is quick to anger and rather explosive. He can usually keep his anger in check, but if he loses it, step back. Additional Info: Charles is a scientist who left with the first Star Gazer mission. He devotes himself to finding a cure. He had a wife and family but only his 7-year-old daughter survived. She was mutated into a wood terraphage. Charles dreams of the day he can once again hold his daughter in his arms. Until then, she lives with Charles brother, a genomorph of the falcon persuasion.
Name: Koi Mallentine Age: 21 Nickname: Day Class: Terraphage of darkness Mutation Description: Exposed to the noxious smog left her in a stage of barely even being considered alive. Parts such as her legs are completely gone, engulfed in a dispersing cloak of black. Her hands in no better condition of being faded away themselves. She is unable to sense things through her body but her hands are still able to hold slight mass. Her gloves are what keeps her sane, allowing her to at least imagine she has something there. Personality: Indifferent towards most situations, unless one mentions of her flaws of being ghost-like. Very knowledgeable of things, before and after the Dark Cloud's arrival. Additional Info: Koi doesn't remember what it was like to be held or touched, leaving her nearly emotionless. Her voice.

Reality Blend: The target sees one world while simultaneously operating in another. Reality Switch: Reoccurring dreams may actually be reality, and Visa versa.
Personality: Arrogant and sly, unwilling to do what she doesn't agree with. Very short tempered and not afraid to speak her mind ~annoying popular girl activate~ Additional Info: Keeping her original form from before the meteor she'd consider herself as lucky, but, in reality, she's tormented day and night by her abilities. They revolve around anything ESP-like. Though extremely unrefined, they're incredibly weak and unstable, but with such a wide variety of powers she's far from anything useless. She doesn't understand how to turn off her powers so to say, specifically her mind reading ability, but in recent days it has completely vanished from her capabilities - meaning she's dreading the day that ability comes back.
In recent recovered memory she had remembered she had a brother who didn't make it onto the ship as it departed. Hitting her head and going into a coma before the ships departure with limited seats and time lead him to make a critical choice of sending his unconscious sister off into space alone. Her ESP-like skills always haunting her mind she doesn't remember much of anything before the ship and can't recall things that happened weeks earlier, so the fact she remembers just his face means that he meant a lot to her.

Name: General Kcuf Ffo Age: 70s Nickname(optional): General Class: Other Mutation Description: The mutation was too much to take at first. It brought him down to the edge of his life until finally his head exploded. Somehow, the mutation that was in progress caused his head to mutate into a giant eyeball. He later found out that his eye can shoot red laser beams. The mutation has caused him to have an aura of blue electricity as well as wings. He's gotten to a point where he feeds on the smog to maintain his abilities. Personality: Burlesque, he has the attitude of a romantic hero. Additional Info: He is somewhat delusional and often believes that he is a fallen angel. He has memories of battles that never happened in this dimension, which is why he calls himself a general. During the period of time where people were escaping the surface, General's head exploded and was all over the ground. It took a year for the remains of his head to regroup into a giant eyeball. For the next two years he spiraled into a delusional frenzy where his body continued to mutate, resulting in his abilities.
Name: Monica Evans (She prefers to be called Kite) Age: 18 Nickname: Kite Class: Bird Genomorph Mutation Description: The mutation gave Kite bird attributes. On the inside, her bone structure and weight changed to allow flight, and she grew an air sack to breathe at high altitude. Her outward appearance granted her fully functional wings sprouting from her back, as well as talons for nails, bird-like feet and feathers sprouting in small patches on her body. Personality: Kite is a cheerful, energetic girl who can be scatterbrained at times. She acts like a cheerful idiot, but behind the facade, she is quite knowledgeable for her age. Kite doesn't quite understand social etiquette, and her sense of morality is different than most people. It seems Kite only cares about making life "fun", so she doesn't really care about good and evil. Still, there's something a bit...off about her. Additional Info: Kite doesn't tell anyone about her past, but it was noted that unlike most people, Kite adapted easily and happily to her mutations.
Name: Melissa Sullivan Age: 25 Nickname: Medusa (though she doesn't like it, and her hair isn't snakes! blaugh ) Class: Snake Genomorph Mutation Description: The mutation gave Melissa scales all over her body, and her legs were replaced by a long, twirling, black snake tail. She also has a forked tongue. (Basically, she looks like a serpentine version of a mermaid.) Personality: Medusa MELISSA is, ironically enough, terrified of snakes and considers it a cruel irony that she was turned into a serpent genomorph. A beauty queen before the meteor and the mutations happened, she is mourning the loss of her former beauty, but as the mutations have affected everybody somehow, she's trying to take it in stride and grow accustomed to the "new normal." She really tries hard not to feel sorry for herself, but it's going to be a long time before she can look at herself in the mirror because of her snake phobia. She wants to either help figure out a cure for the mutations...or at least learn how to use her own new features for good.

Name: Alan Irise Age: 26 Nickname(optional): Bolts Class: Other+Lizard Genomorph Mutation Description: Nearly 80% of his body is engulfed in mechanics, the other 20% covered in scales. He's extremely strong and knowledgeable of all electronically ran things. Personality: He's more of a man that lets his fist do the talking if it comes down to it. For being a small town locksmith before all this happened he's adapted well to the situation handed to him. Although level headed he tends to let his appearance boast who he really is in this day and age. He's a pretty nice guy once you get to know him. Additional Info: He's essentially a handyman of all sorts. Being a cyborg-lizard-man leads him to know about all new types of technologies and advancements.
