Defense Against the Dark Arts "Welcome to the Defense Against the Dark Arts. As you know or shall soon find out this class is made to arm you against the foulest creatures known to man kind, and possibly wizards. I am Professor Ecclesias. As you Slytherins know I am the Slytherin Head of House. Welcome, to my class. You may call me Professor or Professor Ecclesias or Sir or Mr. Ecclesias or master or Peke(Pay-Kay) or whatever; just make sure it's respectful. Or else you won't be able to speak again. Please put all your assignments on my desk( PM them to me). Please obey all rules of this school( guild and Gaian). And try to pay attention and learn!"

The Defense Against the Dark Arts class is located on the 1st floor. Windows line the far wall, and an iron chandelier hangs from the ceiling over many desks that all face the front where a single, larger desk that is slightly raised sits. On the desk there are quills in a jar of ink and papers neatly stacked on the corner of the desk. Sometimes, the professor's yellow-tinted owl will watch over the room while he is away. Behind the desk on a wall is a rack carrying a hat and large wizard coat. Usually, you will find, sitting in the comfy chair also behind the desk, the professor.

Latest Lesson Found on page-7 Lesson: So today your lesson is on How to Identify a Dark Creature. First off, you will need to have a full recognition of what "Dark Arts" really means. It differs from other magic because of its intent. Magic can take many forms in good or bad or neutral ways. Though magic of the Dark Arts has a positively evil intention, most often to cause harm to a person. So with that information, that will give you the basics of how to identify a Dark Creature. Your book, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, describes Dark Creatures as demons. In a non religious sense meaning they are really an animal, but another form of magical being. They're main difference from regular animals, that puts them in that category, is that they exist to actively do harm. You might say that some animals, in fact, many, animals do harm to people. That is true yes, but regular animals attack humans for food, or defense. But Dark Creatures harm humans just to harm humans. Take a Hinkypunk for example. A one-legged creature that appears to be made of smoke and carries a light that it uses to lure travelers into bogs. Why does it lure travelers into bogs? Who knows, it just wants to cause harm to the traveler! Some Creatures, like Pixies, can be debated, but are generally not thought of as Dark Creatures. Although they may cause harm by pulling little pranks and such, this is just regarded as rude mannerism. Often Dark Creatures can be recognized by having differing life cycles from most animals. That is our lesson for today, you should now know how to identify a Dark Creature.

Walks into the classroom and leaps up the stairs with his robe whipping behind. He stands behind his desk waiting for his robe to catch up and the class to shut up.Right! So, welcome to your first Defense Against the Dark Arts Lesson. Today, since this is your first assignment from me this year, your assignment shall be easy and all years need to do it, be it you giddy, little newcoming 1st years or you grumpy, sour-faced 7th years waiting for the year to be over and for yourself to be on your way into the Wizarding world, this is for you all. Now. For the Lesson: Merpeople are intelligent creatures with their own culture and language, who are classified as “beasts” due to their own preference. Merpeople have the head and torso of a human yet the tail of the fish. They speak in the Mermish language and live in organised communities in both freshwater and saltwater locations. They even live, yes, here in the lake outside of Hogwarts. In the many different cultures of merpeople over the world with their own traditions and interests, they all have a very deep love for music. Now, you may know very well what a Mermaid and Merman is, but your assignment is to tell me at least two different names for the merpeople. Like how some people say: soda, others: pop, others: soda pop. So it is all the same thing just a different name. No writing, just give [[pm]] me the names and you'll be done. If you give me three different names, you'll will find yourself starting off with an 'O'. This book will help you find it. Thank you, that is all.

I would like to remind you that although you are in your first year and would normally not study magical creatures higher than level 3, some of these creatures live on the Hogwarts grounds I will tell you about them and if they may harm you I will tell what to do, as the Merpeople have agreed not to harm you students I won't be teaching any spells for your defense against them.

Walking to his desk, he takes out a piece of parchment and begins to write.
A few minutes later, a Snowy Owl with a yellow tint flies in and pecks his hand sharply. The owl flies from the room and he stands and drops his quill, spilling ink in his haste as he leaves the room.

Young Jae peeked into the classroom headfirst. The professor sat innocently on his desk, minding the owl at the window.
