Because he is a dork, he also has an interest in mice as in the computer hardware - an interest that started out as a punny joke, and unfortunately became sincere. Collecting novelty and retro computer mice, therefore, is an extension of this other interest. UrbEx - Morgan likes to get into places he shouldn’t be, especially if those places are in the middle of a big city. Every abandoned building is an irresistible siren call. Every “do not enter” sign is a challenge. Drip - Some people get dressed every day. Other people get dressed. Kay is one of the latter camp, making the most of a tight budget with a competitive thrifting spirit, a patience for mending and restoration, and a curator's discernment in order to always look - if not his best - his Most. His habit is sometimes to be a sartorial chameleon, blending in to whatever character he's playing that day, but most of the time Kay is scrutinizing his fit - and those of others - with an expert eye. He maintains active accounts in online style communities, keeps tabs on men's fashion week, and will drop everything for a promising estate sale provided he has a few bucks in his pocket. Virtues:Friendly - Morgan can and will talk to almost anyone. He is never shy about saying hello to a stranger, and is great with both names and faces. Despite his reluctance to forge truly deep friendships, he is expert at cultivating a network of casual positive acquaintances - he is a beloved regular at a corner store, the employee that always remembers your name and what you’re shopping for, and that guy at the bus stop that never hesitates to offer you a light, or even a smoke. Good - The strongest thing to emerge from the fracturing of Morgan’s memories is certainly an ambition to do good. He will drop everything to help a stranger, and it is difficult to convince him to do anything truly hurtful, unless the results will yield more benefit than harm. While he tries not to let a guilty conscience hold him down, he also refuses to ignore it, and does everything he can to avoid having to feel guilty in the first place. This does not necessarily apply in all the ways one might think - Morgan can justify what he considers to be a victimless crime with ease - but his dedication to being a force for good as far as actual human beings go is unyielding. Flaws: Liar - Although a friend can trust Morgan implicitly with their life, they shouldn't trust him to tell the truth about... well, anything. Nearly every word that comes out of Morgan’s mouth is a lie, and his particular favourite method of bending the truth is to tell it exactly as it is, a tactic which can lead to surprising dishonesty. He gives false names, embroiders his stories, and fibs his way into parties, all with equal aplomb. If called on it, he will typically not even bother to make excuses. To Morgan, the truth should never stand in the way of a good story - or any story at all. Paranoid - Overly-cautious and certain that everything is just about to go bad on purpose, Morgan has a hard time putting his faith in other people, or even in circumstances. He tries a little too hard to cover his tracks, frets over the unavoidable, and is leery of getting too close to anyone, lest they end up betraying him. While his overall demeanor is stubbornly cheerful, it is often more from relief than sanguine expectation. PHYSICAL DESCRIPTIONEyes: Large, grey, slightly watery. Hair: Touseled, black, unkempt. Face: The affectation of a mustache, and sometimes the ghost of stubble. In the summertime he frequently has a smattering of freckles. His eyebrows are unusually heavy and dark - unsuited to his generally-delicate face. Gauged ears with simple plugs, and the scars of removed piercings in his nose, below his lip, and around his eyebrow. Skin Tone: Pale, frequently with pinkish eyelids and nose that make him look habitually somewhat ill. Body Type: On the shorter side (5’7”) with an unremarkable body type: neither skinny nor fat although it tends towards lean; neither muscular nor flabby. Clothes: His style changes according to who he needs to be that day, but it's always done with a practiced eye. If he doesn't need to be anyone specific, count on him to look sharp as hell, with a style triangulated somewhere between classic utilitarian menswear, ivy, resort wear, and frequent touches of eclectic maximalism. The man loves a print and some embroidery, ok.

The mushrooms are not edible, or in fact real mushrooms. Smacking the pouch against someone or something releases a cloud of naturally toxic spores while he is channeling his magic. Hostile characters in a 10 foot radius are subjected to intense nausea as well as visual and auditory hallucinations similar to a bad trip, and may specifically imagine that any signs of nature nearby, be it plants or animals, are suddenly sinister or dangerous. Maus can channel for approximately 35 seconds at this stage. Knight Weapon: A satchel of what appears to be mushrooms. The mushrooms are not edible, or in fact real mushrooms. Smacking the satchel against someone or something releases a cloud of naturally toxic spores while he is channeling his magic. Hostile characters in a 15 foot radius are subjected to intense nausea which may be debilitating, as well as visual and auditory hallucinations similar to a bad trip, and may specifically imagine that any signs of nature nearby, be it plants or animals, are suddenly sinister or dangerous. Characters may experience lasting nausea, paranoia, and/or stomach pain at their player’s discretion. Maus can channel for approximately 45 seconds at this stage. Forgotten Spell: A spectral dagger forms behind the target and drives between their shoulderblades before vanishing, causing pain but no actual injury (unless desired by their player). Effective in a 20ft radius and can be used three times per battle. Passive Ability, Civilian: Assuming his clothes generally already basically fit, they hang on his body in exactly the right way to impeccably complete his look. This cannot be used to make ill-fitting clothes fit (although it may make intentionally-baggy items hang better), only to improve the appearance of correctly-sized garments.  An isolated, lonely castle on the side of a high hill, overlooking a river in a valley below. The castle is surrounded by a thick coniferous forest, and is prone to both rain and fog. In its time the castle was largely used as a base for the exchanging of intelligence. For this reason, most of the rooms are large, open, and unadorned, precluding anyone from hiding in any corners to listen. They are connected, however, by winding and totally dark passages in which it is remarkably easy to get lost. The architecture and furniture are both highly utilitarian, with few places to hide and explore - except in the connecting corridors and surrounding forest, which is thick with secret caches and hidden traps. The resident ghost is a bit of an enigma.

 Maus's Signet Ring Fully upgraded. Aspect of Earth: As upholders of virtue, Earth Knights have a saintly presence and seem to be always followed by sunlight, even at night. They have increased sensitivity to movements around them, and can always tell when someone is trying to sneak up on them -- which means there is no advantage to fighting them any way but honorably. Available for ten minutes per day. Engraved Medallion Its magic can only be activated and used on the owner of the medallion. The medallion allows the wearer to suppress their own energy signature by one level for up to three hours a day. Engelbart is the name of Maus's Cosmic Companion. In most respects she resembles an unremarkable white mouse with a supremely, ludicrously long tail, but she has two unique qualities. The first is that her tail is slightly prehensile, allowing her to carry lightweight objects or to dangle from it opossum-style (or to hold your hand). The second is that she can, when she wishes, change her fur color and to some extent her markings to roughly blend in with her surroundings. This effect doesn't render her invisible, but it does make her extra sneaky and easy to overlook. Engelbart is nearly always hidden away in Maus's hood or collar when he is powered up, and occasionally spends the night in his civilian apartment when he's alone (which is, let's be real, most of the time), sleeping in a bed fashioned from a Tempestine stained glass box and scraps from some old neckties.

Tucked into what many longtime residents still refer to as “the old Circuit City” despite the building not having contained a Circuit City since the company’s closure almost twenty years ago, New Lease is a sprawling thrift store beloved for its active community presence, spotlessly clean racks, and competitive pricing - and beloathed for its constant understaffing problems and the thronging crowds attracted on its infamous Everything-Half-Price weekends. With a fulltime staff comprised almost entirely of little old ladies doing post-retirement work to get themselves out of the house, the service is pleasant, friendly, and woefully slow unless you luck out and get one of the few other fulltime employees - or one of the rotating roster of part-timer high school students - on the register. Sometimes, when he can wrestle the position away from a too-chatty old lady, that person is Kay. Kay is also chatty, but at least he’s fast about it. The pay is s**t, there’s no benefits to speak of, he’s often the only one physically capable of moving furniture, the tedium is overwhelming on every day that isn’t a breakneck weekend, and there is zero room for upwards mobility. But the job security is phenomenal, he has a constant roster of surrogate grandmas on hand to feed him and dote on him, and he makes sure he’s the first one to pick over every donation coming in the doors, which allows him to give himself criminally good deals on everything worth having that he could possibly want. Given that five days out of the week are spent in a mostly-empty store, Kay has a lot of free time on his hands at work. It has gotten out that he has a hand for mending just about any sort of clothes if it’s slow enough, and he’ll perform these odd jobs on the spot for the price of a little cash and conversation. Don’t ask him on a Saturday. You will bring down the ire of an entire team of stressed-out retirees and a packed store full of bargain hunters.
