The FAQ of Tournaments and Battles !
❖ " Is there a battle system that users are meant to use if roleplaying in a tournament/battle? "
- ↪ No, we are pleased to say that there is not! Since this is a literate guild, it is expected that members are responsible and experienced enough that we've allowed personal freedom in the war games. This could change, however, if godmodding becomes a problem.
❖ " On what criteria are medals given out? "
- ↪ There is no specific criteria that medals are awarded to campers, per se. If a character has done something that aligns with a Roman military medal, he or she will be awarded it by a praetor in IC. Not all medals that a camper has must be awarded during a game in the guild, if the character has attended camp for many years.
❖ " Are participating characters allowed to utilize their powers during a game? "
- ↪ Absolutely! The game is not expected to be played with only weapons to use; characters are encouraged to use their powers as they see fit, so long as they suffer appropriate consequences for drawing from their magical reservoir.
❖ " How do I participate in the games? Do I just post in the IC thread when it's set up? "
- ↪ There will most likely be a sign up thread posted if there is an upcoming battle, but if it is a Gladiator Fight, there may not be. The Crew will send announcements alerting members if there is one, however, so if there is, you're asked to post there requesting a chance to participate. If the user running that specific battle accepts you, then you may post in the IC thread when it is made. All users are allowed to post as spectators in Tournaments and Battles, however, without needing to sign up.
❖ " I really want to roleplay my characters in a tournament/battle, but I'm already using them in a different thread. Do I have to pull them out of the other thread first before I can sign up? "
- ↪ Tournaments and Battles will be roleplayed separately from whatever else is occurring on in the guild, so characters that are in quests or at Temple Hill, for example, are still allowed to engage in a mock Naval Battle as well.
❖ " I roleplay a god - am I allowed to use him/her in a tournament/battle? "
- ↪ That would depend on what you would like to use your god for. PM the Captain with a reason why and she will give you your answer.
❖ " Can I sign up multiple characters up at once? "
- ↪ Absolutely! How you will post as them will depend on the amount of other characters also participating.
❖ " It's the middle of a tournament/battle, but I suddenly won't be able to post in the thread anymore. What should I do? "
- ↪ If you are unable to post in the thread after a war game has started, you must notify the Captain and the users that control the characters that your character(s) may be interacting with. The Captain will adjust the posting limit if need be; with the users, you must inform them of your impending absence and of how you can resolve the current interaction between your characters.
❖ " Okay, so I've scrolled through the entire FAQ but my question isn't listed. Do I post it here or what? "
