New Bark Town is located in southeastern Johto and is the starting point of all trainers and their remakes. It is home to the lab of Professor Elm, who possesses the starting Pokémon for Johto: Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile.
Other than being connected to Route 29 in the west, it is also the town that must be passed through to reach Tohjo Falls, Victory Road, and Indigo Plateau, via Route 26 and Route 27.

❂Tenebrae❂ ☸Centurion of Darkness☸ || No one | Curious | Purrloin || New Bark Town
Tenebrae remembered nothing aside from spending the last century keeping the Ginnungagap sealed with Ratatosk and his fellow Centurions. He knew that by now, his friends Marta and Emil would either be very old and withered, or already deceased, and that did sadden him. But, despite the small depression he felt, he continued his job as a Centurion; faithfully serving Ratatosk. However, this day seemed different. He awoke, and his copper eyes scanned his surroundings. He was no longer in his Core, or near the Ginnungagap. Instead, he was laying on the grass in a small little town. His appearance didn't seem to bother the citizens, which was...concerning. A large, cat-like monster would usually spook the Aselians and cause soldiers to react. Tenebrae reached up with his hand and rested it on his head. Wait. Hand? The Centurion sat up and looked at himself; he was a human! What was going on? Why was he like this? Standing quite unsteadily, he examined his clothes. They resembled something a ringmaster would wear, only they've adapted to his natural fur colors. These weren't exactly the clothes he would have chosen to wear as a human, but at least the colors were the same. He moved his legs and arms to get used to the function of the limbs, and then he noticed his tail's hand slithering out from behind him. Tenebrae looked back, spinning a bit, but realized with embarrassment that he had a head full of dark violet hair. And, his tail had become the lower portion of his hair. "How very strange....Is this some sort of test from Ratatosk, or is he playing a trick with my mind?" The Centurion continued to explore how well he could move this new body of his, finding he actually wasn't too fond of it. Not only didn't he like standing on two legs, but he couldn't fly or turn invisible either. The only things he could do was move his tail and hide his ears, which were three inches larger than his current head. At least they shrunk down to normal human ears, so he didn't have to listen to any insults about them. The bad news was that he couldn't hear as well as he could when they were like that.
"Purrloin!" Looking down, he knelt as he looked at the cat-like creature in front of him. A dark essence was radiating from it, and Tenebrae felt quite comfortable around the creature. "What are you supposed to be? Some sort of demon cat?" It certainly wasn't a chimera. Reaching forward with his tail, he picked the creature up by the scruff of it's neck and examined it. "You are the strangest little monster I've ever seen." The creature seemed to have taken offense to being called a monster and swiped at Tenebrae with sharp claws, making him drop it and fall back. "Purrloin...." It went up and sat next to a bag, which Tenebrae sifted through. Other than a sleeping bag, some food, a little bit of what he guessed was currency, six red and white small spheres--one of which the creature next to him seemed quite possessive over, and a potion of some sort, he didn't see anything that could be of use. Until he looked into a side pocket and pulled out a red device that looked like it could have been made of Cruxis' technology. Opening it, the device flashed and bleeped to life before it spoke. "Purrloin, the Devious Pokémon. Purrloin fools people into letting their guard down so it can steal their possessions. When angered, it uses its claws to fight back." So, this creature was called Purrloin, and it was a...Pokémon? Tenebrae had no idea what that was, but he guessed this Purrloin was a companion of his. Looking at the device, it displayed a page of attacks Purrloin could use and a nickname panel. At least he wouldn't have to call her, as the device said she was, Purrloin. "I'm going to call you Kurai.""Purrrr~" He placed the PokéDex back in the side pocket and picked it up with his tail before watching Kurai stand on her two hind legs and walk off in front of him. So, she can do that, too? Well, I guess that doesn't really surprise me. Now he just had to figure out what he was doing here and hopefully get back home. If he didn't, the balance that sealed the Ginnungagap would be shifted and it would open again.
"If you're gonna dig, dig to the heavens! No matter what's in my way, I won't stop!"

Simon spent the morning planning the layout of the city that would be built in the ruins of Teppelin. He and the other members of Team Dai-Gurren had decided on making the city a monument of Kamina, so it would be named Kamina City. The capitol of the new world on the surface. After working with Leeron and the others, Simon returned home with Nia, where she was waiting with lunch. To this day, he and Boota didn't understand why the others didn't like her food; he loved it! Rossiu still couldn't think about without getting sick, either. He talked with Nia about the day before he and Yoko went back to visit Kamina's grave, which was still mounted where he died; desolate and alone. They considered bring him to Kamina City once it was complete and burying him under the statue of him, but that just didn't seem right. Something told him that Kamina would hate the idea. So, everyone kept his grave right where it was.
After returning home, it was back to work with more plans for the city. But, he didn't make it to Dai-Gurren to discuss mecha construction and the fate of Lagann and the other gunmen they had. While he flew towards the giant gunman headquarters, Lagann disappeared and he was no longer in the barren wasteland that made up the surface; instead, he was over a lush landscape. It was beautiful, but he didn't have time to admire it before he realized one fatal detail; he was in the air without Lagann. His Core Drill, however, was now around his neck. That probably meant that Lagann was going to crash land just like he was. "Oh, crap!!" The fifteen-year-old started to fall; the momentum of Lagann had given him a few seconds of forward motion to keep him suspended, but that was gone now. Instead, the only thing keeping him from the ground was just about a hundred feet of open air that was quickly depleting. However, a bird grabbed his collar and tugged, flapping it's wings furiously. At first, Simon didn't think it was going to do anything.
However, even though it didn't stop him from falling, his fall was softened and he landed in a tree with the bird landing next to him. "Thanks....But, how did you do that?" "Bu?" "Oh, Boota. You're here, too?" The pig mole popped out of his pocket and looked at the bird, panicking a bit before going back in. Well, Boota was big enough for the bird to carry off. "Rufflet." Did it just say "Rufflet"? What the heck did that mean? Simon looked down, seeing he wasn't that far off the ground. He jumped down and landed, seeing a blue and red bag with Dai-Gurren's flame logo on it. It had to be his, right? He didn't see anyone else from the group nearby, and seeing how the bird looked at him confidently, it was the only explanation. "Okay. I don't know what's going on here, but....I can't really complain when I can't help it, can I?" Going over to the bag, he didn't get the chance to look through it or pick it up before the bird picked up a device with the same logo on it. It looked like Leeron's portable device, only square, not round. Opening it up and pointing it at the bird, it scanned the creature and then spoke. "Rufflet, the Eaglet Pokémon. Rufflet's talons are powerful. Able to crack open even the toughest Berries. It often challenges stronger opponents to battle." That last part made Simon laugh a little; the description sounded just like what Kamina did. Even before he had Gurren, he would challenge the gunmen to battle with nothing but his pride and sword. It got worse after he stole Gurren from the Beastman that piloted it before him. Looking at Rufflet, he picked the bag up and put it over his shoulder. "Okay, Rufflet, what do I do now? What's a...Pokémon anyway?""Rufflet." He didn't understand what the creature was saying and sighed. However, Boota held up the device again and he flipped it open. Boota was right; maybe this thing could tell him. He searched, and all he found was a map of the region he was in. Johto. Nothing any useful than that.

"Breee...." The strange sound caused ears to perk in confusion. Soon, the body of a young boy shifted, and purple eyes opened... Where..Where was he? Yugi let out a small groan of pain, not remembering much of what happened between how he got to this strange place and completing his puzzle...HIS PUZZLE! His eyes snapped wide as he reached around his neck. A breath of relief echoed through when he found out it was still there. His eyes caught a strange sight. A small brown creature with large ears and fluffy tail. He stared at it curiously, then blushed, "O-Oh! I'm sorry..." He murmured to the eevee as it tilted it's head at him.
Yugi slowly pulled himself up to his feet, dusting himself off and smiling down at the eevee. "Hello there..." He murmured, "What are you?" Yugi tilted his head slightly to the side, was it a dog? No... Definitely not a cat. "Eevee!" It piped up, toddling over and bumping it's head against his leg. He gave a laugh, "You're cute..." He murmured, bending down and patting it between his legs. He reached into his pocket for his cellphone, but pulled out something else.
The boy looked confused at first and opened it up. It started talking and the boy nearly dropped it. //Eevee, the Evolution Pokémon. Eevee is a unique Pokémon that can adapt to its environment by changing its form and abilities when evolving.// Yugi looked down at Eevee and blinked, "Ee...vee?" He murmured, tilting his head slightly. "....I think i'll name you Joey instead." He said with a friendly laugh.

Tenebrae wandered around town, trying to figure out where he was and what he could do. Obviously, this was a different world and he may have lost some abilities. He found out he couldn't fly anymore, and had lost his ability to be in his original form. But, he could still sense the Darkness element in these little creatures and decided to stick with those types. "Purrloin." Tenebrae looked over to see two young boys who didn't seem to know where they were either. One didn't look to strange except his clothing, but the other had very...big hair. How strange.
