Biography: Mizuichi Takahara is mostly shrouded in mystery to anyone who has met him. Extensive research gives one the name Amadeus "Deus" Großmann (Pron. Grossman). And little else other than a tree of names linked to various "terrors" or "antagonists". Due to his last name, some even reach out and think that he may be related to, even the cause of, several myths of the human world rather than various hollows. However, there is no proof of it.
The truth is, not that Mizuichi would ever tell anyone short of the only person that shouldn't be at his deathbed but was for the strangest desire fate could bring, is that he is not the first "Seeker". He was born Kagerou Masuhiro centuries ago and died at a very young age. He was not even able to walk. His memories of his short human life are actually very vivid as are the rest of his memories. Upon his death, he was soon turned into a hollow. Being a child, normally he would be innocent enough to pass on with ease. Even if he had trouble for some reason, he would likely be found. However, Kagerou was not found, his location moved about by a mysterious man in a blue cloak whose face was never shown. Consequently, Kagerou could not pass on and was turned into a hollow. As a child, he was weak, only further weakened by being newly made. Still, the man who made him as we was broke him, freeing him from the influence repeatedly, always shattering the mask that bound the boy, always letting him run after the powerful source of food the masked man presented. This kept on for years. The only life known by the hollow Kagerou being one in which he eternally chased his prey, only to lose the fight, his mind, his personality, himself and then regain it in soul wrenching agony. When this cycle was abruptly ended for no reason other than the wish of the cloaked man, He slayed the hollow that was Kagerou and sent him on to the Seireitei.
When Kagerou came to, he was inside the Rukongai's 14th district, in the presence of a wizened old man dressed predominantly in white. This man asked the boy how he felt, cared for him, things the last man he remembered did not do. He was naturally distrustful of this new man because of what he had experienced before, but eventually grew to trust and enjoy this old man's company. The time came when the old man left him, but not before asking Kagerou's name. Much to Kagerou's chagrin, he couldn't remember. He had always been called boy or child. Angered and saddened, the old man left a parting gift. The name Mizuichi. It was a nonsensical name, it had no attachment to the boy who was Kagerou, but he treasured it. And then, the man left. Sad, and now alone, Mizuichi cried on the porch of the small house for a whole day. He was stopped by a familiar, hated face. A man wrapped in blue, a man whose face could not be seen. In childish temper, this man was immediately connected to the loss of the man in white and Mizuichi ran. He ran as fast as he could, but never fast enough. The faceless man in blue trailed after him, captured him, and took him away again.
The next thing that Mizuichi could remember was that he was alone, in a cell, by himself with the man in blue. This man finally gave himself a name. He called himself "The Sixth Sun" and he profusely apologized for what he had done, bowing at the boy's feet, accepting the tiny, weak, punches the fists of the tantrum that most certainly followed. When Mizuichi ran out of steam, huffing and puffing, his small body short for breath, the "Sixth", as the man in blue shortened his name to one word, explained that he had sought the "Seventh" a man powerful and resolute, unlike those before him. He believed that Mizuichi was this person, and the man in white, deemed "Dawn" also agreed. Hearing that the old man who was so kind was friends with this... this.... torturer tore Mizuichi's heart, but he did not falter, only teared, fighting even those back. The Sixth said from this day onward, he would teach Mizuichi what was necessary and then let the boy go forth towards enlightenment. If it meant escape, it was worth it. The young Mizuichi agreed without delay.
The teachings were not much different from what normal people would be taught. Speech, writing, the alphabet, etc. Things of that matter. Basic sword play was also taught as well as minor ways to defend one's self if the need really came down to it. The only other lessons that were ever administered were those that increased Mizuichi's speed, endurance, and efficiency with his body. Strength of body was not necessary, but optional if Mizuichi so desired. Mizuichi dared not, because he would never be able to overpower this man. Even as a boy slowly becoming a teenager, he knew that much. He only needed to be faster and be able to utilize smaller spaces if he wanted to escape. But like a dark story, Mizuichi reluctantly came to rely on this man in blue, this man named Sixth. What would later be called Stockholm syndrome, was truth for Mizuichi, and he slowly saw the "error" of his ways.
Even still, time repeats itself, and the man in blue had to leave as well, giving Mizuichi several gifts. The first was a coat, black in color with a creamy colored inside. It was much too big for him, but he would grow into it. This was to hide his body and represent him as a "Seeker". The second was a sword. It was strange. It felt... alive. This was a zanpakuto, but Mizuichi only saw it as a sword. The Sixth told him that this sword would never stay broken, no matter what. It would be Mizuichi's ultimate companion, his true friend. The third and last gift was a mask, a mask that seemed to have no purpose other than cover his face, which was the most basic of mask principles. He was told that this would be the face those who opposed him would look for, a face they already considered evil. It was, to be blunt, a trigger, a switch, a trap used to identify any who stood against Mizuichi. With a parting speech, the Sixth left. Mizuichi was now alone once more and left to his own devices in the Seireitei. He had one mission now, and that was to get back home. He was free now, according to the Sixth. If that was true, Mizuichi would take his chance. He left and made for the direction he thought home would be in.
Through chance, he stumbled closer and closer to the Gotei 13, working his way through the various districts of the Rukongai. He was found, wielding a zanpakuto, by scouts and brought in for questioning. They were harsh and unforgiving, thinking he had killed a man for it, but there were no recent bodies to suggest it, it was merely an assumption. Mizuichi refused to answer. He was not sworn to secrecy, he was sworn to his duty. The men reacted indifferently to his mask, which unbeknownst to him, was quite alike to a hollow mask. Still, their treatment of him made him want to watch these men squirm and fuss. He refused their desires, keeping answers from them, never uttering a word. Unlike these men, he would utilize secrecy and the unseen. It was decided, after lengthy discussion, that the boy be put into the Gotei 13. He had a zanpakuto, let him use it or die trying. Unceremoniously, he was thrown into the First Division.
In the short time he was in the First Division, he cherished his coat, wearing that along with his soldier garb, resenting all near him for the way they acted. Even when interviewed by Seated Officers, Mizuichi kept his tight lipped attitude. In his entire career as a soldier, he never said one word to anyone. He was often punished for this, but he cared not, only drawing himself into his shell more. The pain they put him through here was nothing to his most early memory as one of the dead. As a result, in order to remove a useless person from their squad, he was sent by a Third Seat on a mission he should not be on. Their hopes were to have him killed as collateral, but that is not what happened. Entering the Mortal World with two others of a suitable rank, they were to dispose of some hollows. Mizuichi himself, was not suited to the task but the other two were. They were also to make sure he was killed. They failed there mission almost instantly. As soon as the hollows made their appearance, Mizuichi struck at one of his "captors". The intended target dodged effortlessly but was cut down by the hollows they were sent to feed Mizuichi to. Between Mizuichi and his own life, the other Shinigami chose to live, being forced to fight on the defensive. Utilizing his opening, Mizuichi fled, unable to be caught by his senior unless the pursuer was willing to put himself at risk. Although the other man survived, he reported Mizuichi as MIA, branding him as a rebel, if not dead.
Centuries later, Mizuichi still lives. He watches constantly for Shinigami, but does not bother them directly. Many have been killed by his meddling, but he himself has never directly killed someone, only influenced their demise. With unhindered years of completely released practice, Mizuichi trained endlessly, traveling and combating multitudes of hollows. It could be said his kill count is actually much higher than the majority of Shinigami since his hunting grounds were open for him and him alone. Even Bankai was found to be achieved easily by Mizuichi, who obtained it out in the desert, atop a ruined tower that seemed to be impossibly high. When the technology came around, he even managed to snatch a Gigai from a dispatched Shinigami, after the man was done with it for a short period of time of course. He is, perhaps by his own words, one of the greatest threats the Shinigami could have to face, so long as they keep a blind eye to him.
However, his one and true objective is the one who is called "Eclipse", the person who is the "Last Dawn" and who shall be the final one in the line of the occult, obscure belief that Mizuichi follows. Even those he leads can choose to be blind to this, believing he does everything for a singular reason that they all share. But the truth is that he is acting on much older orders, orders that are unlikely to be known by any other than himself.
Zanpakuto's Name: Meiro Mira [Maze Mirror]
Sealed Description: While sealed, Meiro Mira is a standard katana inside of a standard, black sheath. It has a blade that is 80 cm[32 in] long with a circular guard and a roughly 16 cm [6 in] hilt. When drawn, one may notice that the metal seems highly reflective, but otherwise contains no special properties.
Zanpakuto Spirit: Zanpakuto Spirit
Inner World: Inner World
Shikai Status: Yes
Release Command: Set me on my Path, Meiro Mira
Shikai Released Appearance: Upon release, Mizuichi cuts the air with it, the blade shattering violently like a Mirror as well as shattering what appears to be an invisible glass that was not there before. These shards flow around Mizuichi and are controlled much like Senbonzakura would be used. Additionally, he may freely change the size of the shards before he sends them to attack. However, he cannot make any one shard smaller than the palm of his hand or larger than 180cm [6 ft]. Mizuichi is also unable to have anymore than thirty shards and any less than five and the more shards he has, the smaller they are. Conversely, his shards are larger when their number is lower.
Shikai Abilities:
Mugen Ko Henko: This technique has the shards line up and reflect available light and reiryoku in a mad house of mirrors. The more mirrors used, the faster the beam travels but the longer it takes to charge. Suspiciously, it is also weaker than if it were simply reflected once or twice, however, these stronger beams move slower.
Yugami: Empowering his shards, Mizuichi assembles them into their positions as he wishes, still maintaining his proper count and size amount. Each remaining shard then fires off an energy wave that has a speed and power corresponding to the size of the shard that launched it. The more shards, the smaller and faster the attack as well as greater numbers. The opposite is also true; less shards, stronger, slower, less attacks to dodge but also bigger attacks. Each attack also spins when fired, as if being rifled by the shards they come from.
Nise Hikari: Gathering ambient light and focusing it into a pinpoint with his reishi, Mizuichi launches a powerful wave that expands outward greatly upon exiting the sphere of influence created by his shards. The wave has a wide range, both horizontally and in actual flight distance, as well as packing a bit of power. He is able to maintain this attack as a sort of pseudo artillery cannon, focusing the beam on one particular spot, or changing his shards tilt and yaw to move the attack around.
Hoshi Akari: Gathering ambient light and focusing it with his reishi, Mizuichi creates orbs in the air. After Hanging there appearing to be useless, the orbs fly at the foe in a straight line like grapeshot, making them annoying to dodge. They lack any major explosive power but make up for it with a surprisingly strong amount of piercing force.
Bankai Status: Achieved
Release Command: Bring your Judgement, Shinokagami
Bankai Description: While the appearance of his Shikai and Bankai are not much different, both utilizing the mass amount of shards created upon their activation as weapons, his bankai stands out in that he may now have up to fifty shards, no smaller than the palm of his hand, or one, massive mirror that can be no larger than thirty feet. Due to the relative size of this mirror, he only ever uses it in wide open places or on tops of buildings because it will often hinder his movements with a large amount of destruction.
Bankai Abilities:
Hansei: Pulling in ambient light and focusing it into a local point, he fires off a thin to large ray of light depending on his number of shards used. The more shards use, the thinner the beam, the more piercing power it has. The less shards, the larger the beam, the more width and explosive force it has. Regardless of the amount of shards used, the ray will move at the same speed. What makes this move dangerous, however, is that he may change its direction once during its flight path. While this change in trajectory is nigh instantaneous, it cannot make a change greater than 90 degrees. This allows it to turn sharply left or right, but unable to turn after targets who dash past it.
Giman: Gathering in ambient light, Mizuichi fires moderately sized rays from two different focal points. While this is not particularly dangerous alone, he may change their firing path once. This allows him to move two attacks flying horizontally and change them into firing vertically or two, straight firing beams into a sweeping ray attack that meets in the middle. While the possible changes for this technique are more open than Hansei he still cannot direct these beams behind him should the foe get behind Mizuichi.
Bunraku: Mizuichi traps a projectile inside a chamber created out of his shards and ricochets it around inside the chamber before letting it loose as a new missile for his own purposes. Charged by Mizuichi's reiryoku and empowered by the action of being catapulted around, it leaves the shard chamber and moves faster than it had, with just as much power. The downside to this attack is that it has only one flight path, meaning once the attack is released, it's trajectory cannot be changed.
Wareta Kagami: Gathering his shards into one, giant shard, Mizuichi charges it with his own reireyoku and ambient light. Once he finishes, he fires a massive ray from the solitary mirror at his foe. Although the ray itself is extremely large, being the full thirty feet of the object that fired it, it is not terrifyingly damaging and is not the powerful part of the move. As the ray fires, the mirror shatters, filling the ray of light with the dangerous shards of Mizuichi's zanpakuto, which have a sufficient amount of piercing power to be a serious issue to someone caught in the field, and that isn't including the laceration potential also coupled inside this attack's damage.
Abilities/Special Training:
Shunpo Master: Having an uninhibited training time, Mizuichi is extremely fast, but not impossible to follow
Invisible Hand: A smart individual, Mizuichi will often plan out battles before they happen, dominating most of his tactics unless unexpected events happen. While this does not necessarily mean he will achieve his goal, it does give him an early tactical advantage most of the time. However, his in battle strategy suffers more than it normally should as well, just because of this. All the same, he should not be trifled with, as the consequences may be severe.
Out of Sight, Out of Mind: Mizuichi has extreme amounts of control over his reiatsu, allowing him to slip in and out of crowds of people easily, even when he must run from a fight. His ability to suppress or utilize his reiatsu is exceptional.
Impressive Pressure: Not only is his control over his reiatsu impressive, but the stores of it that he has is just as impressive. Many lower ranked officers can be brought directly to their knees under his full wake, but he will rarely ever use sucj scare tactics on anyone, his own men included.
